Shockingly (to me) Norm passed away today (9/14/21). I came here to watch this video in a lame attempt to pay tribute to one of the funniest people of his or any time. Go make God laugh, Norm. He could probably use a good chuckle or two right now.
at around 4:13 as Conan says “Put carrot top back up” you can hear 2 voices from the crew saying “she just did”. I’ve watched this clip so many times and never noticed until now.
So long Norm. Thanks for putting a smile on my face so many times. In a world of such intense cruelty you were a refreshing soul that made life bearable. In the name, honor, and love of Jesus Christ I ask God the Father to accept you into His heavenly kingdom. Father, Norm brought happiness to the saddened. He shed light on the darkened. He touched the hearts of the hardened. All examples of Jesus like qualities. Hallelujah. Peace and love to all.
The serendipity of this whole thing is just amazing. Norm and Courtney are the guests, Norm is talking with Conan backstage about CarrotTop (hmmm...), Courtney just happens to have made this movie with CarrotTop. Well, even if it was all a setup, it is still funny as hell and I love re-watching this. I can see Conan biting his lip when he brings up CarrotTop, he definitely knows that Norm is getting ready to let loose. And of course, the topper of them all, after the "Do something with that, you Freak", Norm comes back with the Chairman of the B.O.R.E.D. If Conan was as old then as he is now, he might have wet his pants. But he's a good guy. Great Stuff!
Courtney is absolutely gorgeous and her pretty bossy toes are icing on the cake. Was never aware of norm until when I was listening to a local rock station and they mentioned his death so they turned me on to this clip. I had tears in my eyes after I watched this clip. RIP.
The real shocking thing about this video is that Norm didn't accuse Andy of being one of the tourists taking pictures of the restaurant (or offering other services for which a Swedish-German turn a quick buck).
Moments like this are the only reason I'd watch a talk show. I don't care about anyone promoting anything or a musical guest. I want hear deep stories, funny riffing moments, and/or off-the-wall guests. You get that more with long-form radio shows, sadly.
