    Tablet Weaving Pattern Generator (TDD):
    * jamesba.github...
NEW How to use TDD: www.youtube.co....
    Loom:
In this video, I'm using a Beka inkle loom. It's quite nice, lightweight, and has a good tensioning system.
    Yarns:
    * Maysville Carpet Warp, which can be found at several different weaving supply places (I often use WEBS at www.yarn.com). It comes in more than 70 colors on an 800 yard spool for about $9, so it can be used in a number of projects and the price is very reasonable.
    * 20/2 or 60/2 silk from Eowyn de Weaver has recently moved her store from Etsy. Each cone is $30 and comes in 18 different colors. There are also small 100 yard spools that run $5 each and comes in more than 2 dozen colors. New web site! www.eowyndewever.com
    * Pearl cotton, size 8, which can be found is most craft stores in a bunch of colors.
    Sewing:
    * I use 100% linen from Linen-Store.com in the IL019 weight for my tunics. The quality of their linen is very good, their prices are very reasonable and shipping is fast! Use "ILOVELINEN" in the discount code for an additional 7% off!
    Cards:
    * 2 1/2" wide (63 mm) made on a 3D printer, a pattern designed by my husband. Free downloadable patterns of other tablets are available on Thingiverse (this one is not my pattern--we are still working the kinks out of the design but these cards are Oseberg reproductions: www.thingivers...)
    * 3 1/4" cards from Schacht Spindle Company, which run $8 for 25 cards. I love these because they are colored on the edges and they are thin but very durable. Similar cards are made by Lacis but without the colored edges.
    Tea. Earl Grey. Hot.

You, sweet Elewys, are a friend I just haven't met yet. Your art and instruction have seen me through some very dark days as Hubby and I have battled cancer and dementia with his parents. I have walked this road with loved ones way more than I have ever wanted to. Give yourself enough grace to have the bad days. Laugh long and loud in the good moments. Have patience with each other. Love well. Fight hard. If there is any way I can be of help or encouragement, let me know and I will send you contact info. If not, know I will be praying that the God of all peace bring joy and good health back to your home.

This is one time when I’m glad our phones “listen in” on our conversations. It heard me talking about wanting to learn to weave, and it recommended you and your videos to me. I have enjoyed every one of them. Praying for healing to continue for your husband, and grace and endurance for you. You are such a joy to watch and listen to. Thank you for sharing your time, talents, and love of your art with so many.

I wish I had found tablet weaving sooner by about 30 years. Nowadays I'm trying to figure out a way to do it with out full use of one hand/arm. Your videos are the best. You are inspiring. I'm in the Shire of Heronter, in the kingdom AEthelmearac. Take what time you need and remember to take time for yourself so you can be there for your loved ones. You are so right about getting medical directives and power of attorney in place. My mother had a stroke in Sept. Due to experience with her parents long term medical declines, and power struggles within the family, and my mother's own medical history, we had set up a directive and medical power of attorney several years ago.
Also returning to "real" life after taking care of her recovery, I put my craft streaming on hiatus, because I don't have the emotional energy. Crafts and Arts are still therapeutic, I'm just doing it for myself, and not having the pressure of performing.
So take all the time you need to deal and heal.

I think I first found your channel around 2020. I'm an art instructor at a mountain resort and we have to teach a wide variety of mediums. Painting, Basket weaving, sketching, pottery throwing. but what I got to bring to the mountain was textiles. we have a shoestring budget that is slowly getting better every year, but I get to teach folks how to knit, how to crochet. How to cross stitch or embroider. Eventually, I really wanna dive back into the world of weaving. I've worked the larger looms in community classes, but I want to learn to weave as you do. Thank you for being an inspiration as an artist, as a textile artist and as a youtube content creator. right now I only have games for content on my channel but I'm hoping to share my love to pottery and textiles. Thank you for always having a calm presence in your videos so no matter how crazy or demanding a work day would be- your videos would always be a space to ground me- that everything would be okay and there's always a new day, a new pattern. I'm sorry life is throwing one heck of a snag/knot at ya, but I'm glad that, eventually, when the time is right, we'll get to see another pattern from you or another technique. I was so worried with the title that we would lose such a kind, patient artist from the youtube community.

I too consider you a friend I just have not met yet. I will keep you, your husband and your family in my prayers. Please remember to take care of yourself while you are taking care of everyone else. I've been a caregiver first to my aunt, then my mother and now my dad. Dear Elewys, I came across your channel a week ago (I can’t even remember whether I was searching for tablet weaving, which I’ve always been curious about, or just fell down a RUclips rabbit hole!). One week later and I’ve marvelled at how turning the cards produces such beautiful patterns, learnt so much from your historical introductions and your demonstrations, and laughed at your dry sense of humour. I’ve been watching all your videos in order, ordered weaving cards to try with a backstrap, then given into temptation and ordered an inklette loom, and then today I’ve just reached this video..... My heart goes out to you, your husband and your children. I hope that the kids’ support networks of friends and teachers are stepping up for them too. I’m sure that someone as generous with her time and enthusiasm as you are has a big circle of friends reaching out to support you right now, but I wanted to send you my best wishes and warmest hugs too. Talk to people when you need to vent, don’t feel obliged to talk about it when you don’t want to and save your energies for the important people in your life: any visitor worth their salt won’t care about the messy corners of your house. I will keep you and your family in my prayers. I just wanted you to know that your wit and teaching skills have impacted on yet another person way across the globe, and if positive thoughts can change anything, I am sending you a shed-load of them. From your newest subscriber.

I love your videos. Thank you for making them. It’s a tough journey, so take as much “you” time as you can. Sending you and your husband warmest wishes.

I am so so sorry to hear about your husband. I'll be here waiting to see if you feel up to recording a new video. But do not feel you need to do anything. It is important to take care of your own needs too. And do not forget to cry when you can. Put on some beautiful music and cry. It does wonders (unfortunately I know from experience). All my thoughts are with you and your family. Love, Bente

I love every time I see a video post from you. I am glad you are taking time not only to be there for your husband. Your work is beautiful and some day I hope to make many things like this. I hope he gets better and that you are okay through it. Take your time to take care of him. Don't forget to take time to heal yourself as well. Helping someone, anyone, through health problems of any kind can be draining on you. Self care can be easy to forget when helping someone else.

My prayers are with you. Going through cancer during the pandemic is difficult at best. When you get the news your blood cancer isn’t the problem, it’s Covid, then the news that it’s not still Covid it’s stomach cancer that’s ruptured. 😂I know it seems morbid, but try and keep a sense of humor in this. Cancer is not a very dignified disease, nor is it merciful. You take whatever joy you can find!

I just discovered your channel today, while searching for kumihimo braiding ideas. One of your older videos was on that list, soni clicked it. I learned to card weave many years ago thanks to a misplaced book in the library that I found, said, hmmm, I'll give that a shot, and got weaving. Over the course of today, I've watched 5 or 6 of your videos, and you are an amazing teacher. I wish I had found your content years ago, when I first learned.
My prayers and well wishes are with you and your husband. In the name of all higher powers that be, may he be healed now. Thank you for all that you do, both online and in daily life. You are a great person.

Sending lots of good thoughts and hugs as your family faces this challenge. Take the time you need, family comes first. I very much enjoy your videos, and keep watching them over and over. It was watching your hands in their calm practiced dance that made tablet weaving click for me. "When in doubt, do art." Exactly.

Sending lots of virtual hugs to you and all of your loved ones. Cancer is so rough to deal with. My mother dealt with cancer, so a lot the the work you mentioned is familiar. Please take the time you need in order to cope. We’ll be here for when you have the spoons to film a piece.
More hugs, and sending you all the wishes for best outcomes with your husband.

I’m so sorry. It must be really hard. You, your husband, and your families are in my prayers.
I love your quote “When in doubt, do art”. There’s something healing about creating. Or, at least it keeps you busy.

I lost my husband 3 years ago to Diffused Large B Cell Non-hodgkins Lymphoma. He was 41. We had 3 days. I didn't find out for about 1 month after why he died. 🤗 I pray that God gives you strength & peace. Live each moment to its fullest. 🤗 Love deeply. Stay busy with your weaving...it will help pull you through. Don't stop. It WILL help you get through the Darkest days. We will be here to support you when you get back. 💜🤗💜

I don’t weave, but I do embroider. I’ve always found it a centring activity similar to meditation or being in church. Hopefully you find a similar level of comfort in your own work during the difficult times.

I just discovered you and tablet weaving. I haven't started anything yet (gotta finish other projects and actually buy or make tablets). I've been so inspired by your work! I'm hoping your husband gets the care he needs and that he makes a smooth recovery. I'm hoping that you'll have all the strength and energy you need to keep up with it all. I'm praying for peace for you both!💖

Elewys, I love your videos and watching you weave, it's gotten me so interested in picking up cards and an inkle style loom myself. Please spend all the time you need with your family instead of worrying about getting out content -- weave for yourself if you need it as personal meditation and therapy. My grandfather was diagnosed with renal cell carcinoma in his 70s and it made all of us on that side of the family re-evaluate how we spent our time with each other. I hope everything goes well with his treatment plan, you're all in my thoughts!

Hi Elewys, I just stumbled into weaving because I have produced and conjured up so much yarn :-D. Just wanted to say thanks for your content, your humor, your positive and loving attitude. I hope for you and your family that only the best things will happen and that you find strength in your craft as many of us do. You are very inspiring and I wish all the best for you and your loved ones!
