Harrild Railroads - Part 143 - Cold steam for steam loco steam

This film is on experiments on using ultrasonic humidifiers to make steam on my steam locos (maybe diesels too).
There are several advantages to using this technique: The devices are cheap to buy ($2-3 each), they run on tap water, only a small voltage (5 volts) is needed, moderate power consumption and thesmoke actually looks ok, compared to smoke oil aggregates.
In the future, I will make a film on installing a unit in an electric model steam loco, but for now here’s inspiration for fun in the modeltrain shop…🚂😃
