      I thought so to. The others had a similar effect where they kept their facial expressions very rigid.
      Based on the number of comments who said they looked like gods, I wonder if a lot of people have developed a very false idea of the demeanor that gods actually have? Do they think that gods maintain a statue like rigidity in their faces?

      @@islam6388 Those words are not synonyms. I used the one I meant to use. The performers do not resemble dieties to me. They look like really beautiful statues (of dieties) come to life.

      It's their culture only.. Bharatnatyam is their dance only.. So they have to preserve it..

      " Murti" is a word native to Bharat.
      " Idol" is a word native to Christian Europe and the Christian Bible, and a derogatory term used in reference to "Murti".

    Retired performer here, watching the whole production was just mind boggling. The beautiful but foreign (to me) music is sung with such precise rhythm to the instrument in the background. It's been years since I've studied some Indian belief systems. I just wonder how many hours of practice it took. I'm going to watch it again ❤

    I don’t know much about Indian culture, but everything I’ve seen and experienced so far has me mesmerized. Best food, dopest religion, most decadent looking clothing and jewelry, most beautiful women, I love sitar music…everything is just so kick ass.

    Sreedevi Nrityalayam students are the epitome of perfection, grace, flexibilty, fluidity and stamina. Guru Sheela Unnikrishnan and teams efforts have blessed the rasikas with amazing performances. Students like Harinie Jeevitha are truly the torch bearers of this beautiful art called Bharathenatyam.
    My best wishes to SDN team. Their choreography, costumes, make up, music team, guru n shishya are all a heady mix of vibrance n color. May God bless you all with immense creativity, fame and inspiration to spread Bharathanatyam.

      Brother Odissi is the oldest classical dance form of India. They are equally preserving the tradition even after suppression by muslim nawabs from Hyderabad, Murshidaabad, Delhi lastly by the East India Company. Kalinga & Kanchi are now Odisha & Tamilnadu who were traditionally rivals & competitors in spreading indian culture in South East Asia specially Srilanka, Java, Sumatra, Borneo, Cambodia, Thailand, Malaysia etc. Please refer Google.

      Kathakali and Mohiniattam from Kerala.
      Bharathnatyam is common for Andhra, Karnataka and Tamilnadu.
      'Sankarabaranam' an excellant movie made in Telugu that highlights the greatness of Karnatak music and Bharathnatyam.
      The movie is a masterpiece filled with excellant songs by SPB and dance movements by Manju Bhargavi.

    All 12 Indian classical dances started as temple dance. Bharatnatyam is the best form of dance in the world. Odysi is the oldest in the world. Nataraj (shiva) means lord of dance statue is in front of CERN building. It’s cosmic dance.

    The swing movements omgg and they way they gaze and the part where they decorate the swing(?) it's so mesmerizing. I love the way we depict stories in south Indian classical dance forms

    But the vishnu role played by tgat artist... I feel lord vishnu himself came to perform this.... So devine feeling in her face
