Dont know if you still look at the comments, since it was 10 years ago.. But dude, words can't explain how happy i was when i did this and the note worked afterwards... Thank you so much man
Hello Emil! I do still receive emails if a comment is added. Thank you so much for taking the time to message me. So delighted that this is still helping keyboard players. You've made my day! Good luck with all your compositions - listened to a couple - and love thetm Dan.
Thank You very much Sussexdan7 I thought I was going to have to pay for an expensive repair..... Your tutorial saved me some money. My Triton LE was very dusty inside.
Very helpful thanks. I have a broken key that has to be replaced and after watching your video, I feel more confident in trying to repair it myself. Thank again
When doing this, bare in mind that you will need to unscrew (screw) about 50 (or more) screws, so taking your time, being patient and methodical is vital. One BIG advice, when removing or replacing keys ALWAYS remove the key contact assembly from the keybed first, and put it back on when you are finished. If you need to replace a key, first take the key stopper off (long white plastic stripe on the edge of the keybed), then you need to push the key away from you on to the end of the frame,
Thanks for this video. I have 2 keyboards with this same problem. I figured it was dust but was kind or afraid to mess with it without some knowledge. I will definitely try to repair them now. Kudos to you my friend.
Hi, thanks for making the video, i'm sure it can help a lot of guys out there to repair the keyboard them selves without having to pay top dollar for repairs. I have 5 Korg keyboards my self, all of them with the same keyboard action (yamaha FS keybed). I've also learn a great deal when repairing ans servicing these keyboards my self. I'm just going to leave a few tips and info about these keyboards so it may help others with their repairs. So here it goes...:
First thing, the keybed type: This keybeds (like on the Triton) are made by Yamaha and where used in almost all top of the line synth's by Yamaha and Korg since mid 80's. So if you are looking for a replacement key, here is a list of synths that use the same keys: KORG: M1, T2/3, 01W/Fd/Pro, Wavestation, i2/3, i30, Trinity/plus/pro/v3, Z1, Triton/classic/studio/extreme (not the LE), Oasys (76). Yamaha: DX7/DX5/DX9/DX7ii, KX76, SY77/85/99, EX5, W5, Motif 6/7(classic/ES), and maybe some others.
Thanks for the post. I was going to take my triton with a bent key to the shop, but now I have the confidence to try it myself. I'm scared about the floppy drive part though. That looks tricky.
Thank you for this Video I have an old Triton Le without a floppy thank God that I was experiencing the same issues. So Im trying to clean inside to do the same as you have done.Wish me luck.
Hi, thanks for putting up the video ... got exactly the prob with my Korg OASY (different key) that has been sitting around for a while gathering dust. Going to try this tomorrow :-)
I have a lot of trigger boards but would still like to use my trition as a trigger also.I had these three keys fixed at guitar center years ago.the same three are stuck again.ugh.maybeI should try and fix it myself this time ?
Thanks Dan. Very useful tips. My rotary encoder is not working smoothly. Feels OK but values and cursor jumps about. Any experience and solution of this. Cheers Chris
I have had to take mine apart many times. I had it for over a year with a problem. First time took it to the shop. It had broken key. Then worked when it came back but now the contacts keep messing up and I think they may have left a part out. Is there something that is supposed to be installed to keep the keys more stable so that do not shift them off center causing the contacts to be misaligned?
Hi Steven. Sounds like your having a nightmare with your Korg. I'm sorry, but it's been a while since I posted this and don't know that I would be able to help you. Perhaps someone else who has commented here will be able to help?
Because one of my keys had slipped out I decide to take the back of my Triton Extreme but when I put it altogether ...only the last few of the keys one the right hand side worked. I have as yet to find an answer! I tried your idea but that didn't work !!!!
Don't suppose you want to do the same for the B on my Korg iS5? No, no 'course not, I can do it myself now I know how. D'you reckon I can just turn it upside down and give it a shake?
I have the exact same Triton. I disassembled it because a Les Paul guitar which was hanging above it, fell off the wall and struck the Triton. The guitar struck the Triton on the top of the unit where the power supply resides. I checked it before I disassembled it and everything I checked it and it made unusual, unusable sounds. I want to put it back together and take it to a repair shop. I'm looking for a a schematic of the interconnecting cables. Any Idea where I could get one?
I have same problem bro plzz help e i have uploaded a video of my poano problem. ruclips.net/video/hpSP01isXOs/видео.html I your piano has fixed up then 0lzz tell me how can i fix up mine.
Hi sir, I am venkatesan from India, my korg o1w key is not smoothly moving, if solve the problem ,what I will do sir,pls help me, Trinity key set is match to o1w key set sir
Hi. Thank you for getting in touch. Sadly I do not know the answer to your question. I could guess that the way I managed to fix my Triton would work as the principal must be the same. Although this video was posted many years ago, and things may have changed. Good luck in finding a solution and happy holidays. Dan.
I have always the problem of my krog le one key always be silent I repairs before tow or three times after cleaning dust it's work but after few few 4 or 5 days it's again give the same problem can I clean the green board with petrol or Colin
I have a issue with the value scroll going completely out of control. Continuously going up and down. Automatically. I need to clean it. I can't edit or anything.
So if you need a replacement key for any of this synths, they all use the same keys. The easy source of keys is Yamaha (yes they still have them) or the used market, or: syntaur(dot)com If you are just trying to clean the key contacts like on the video, always be very careful and gentle because those contacts are very fragile, use a soft brush and vacuum cleaner. If you need to fix or replace keys, you need to take the whole kaybed assembly out of the keyboard
Hello I have a problem with my microstation, which turns the screen on microSTATION KORG v1.0.0 To the second the word "microSTATION" passes a "TION", the keys do not sound at any time and the PC does not recognize me, you have an idea that it can be?, Thanks

To see in detail, try these videos: /watch?v=8BikNg_G-TA /watch?v=j-llq0B5f98 /watch?v=IFkXJ_CEcsI Its for the M1 but the keybed is the same. The contact never get dirty it’s where the contact is soldered on the circuit board under the note 😁
Thanks.

LOL. You will all be pleased to know that the cushions have been replaced. 😊
Yamaha 2000?
I can't believe that you actually bothered to print an "X", rather than just using a bit of dark tape.
Genius idea! ... Next time I'll use dark tape. :)
Glad to be of help, but it's not genius att all. Don't try to downplay the fact that you didn't think of it... :P Just kidding. ;)
