Making Homemade Lathe Milling Attachment For Compound Slider And Tool Post
New projects homemade lathes bed (second lathe)
Hello RUclipsr, today I’m glad to share my new second homemade lathes.
I do happy to make a bigger size because my first lathe the size is a bit small, when milling a big plate of thick metal is not easy because the length is not enough space to milling than the plate metal I used is thin most are 10 mm thick.
So I decided to make a new lathe bigger than the previous lathe. Now there is enough experience to make a new lathe also.
I hope you all enjoying my new lathe from part 1.

That was actually a neat way to fabricate a 'T' slot.
I was thinking you may need to modify bolt heads so they can't spin in the future when things wear in.
220mm is a big diameter for a small lathe, I couldn't do it as my lathe doesn't slow down enough. (500rpm is slowest it goes)
I have used an angle grinder bolted in place of tool post to grind larger diameters around 185mm

@@mr.ranyhomemade2466 To be honest, a heavier lathe is always better as it won't vibrate so much and is more stable.
If possible, fill hollow area's with hydraulic cement/concrete (not 'ordinary' Portland cement) as it doesn't shrink and is much much cheaper than epoxy.
I trained on much bigger lathes and actually owned a very nice Colchester for a few years but had to sell it when I moved

I love your work but I hate rusty tools and machines. There's no pleasure watching neglected machines. Please clean up and lube your hard work. They deserve it!
