yeah that lighting is nice. I directed a short film last year and my gaffer had a saying "light spaces not faces" which I found to be really nice, as it gave the actors freedom to move around and it still looked cinematic and real.
Aside from the awesome breakdown and insight of the BTS of "Homecoming" (which we all want to see BTW) Can we take a moment to admire the pure genius of shooting your talking head in front of a mirror. Not only is it an interesting and exciting frame, but also, it's super practical, so you actually work on the laptop without showing your back to side to us while at the same time, doing an OTS with yourself. Genius! (If I ever get a loose mirror, I'm going to try it too haha)
yeah I love that
I was thinking the same thing. Lets not forget the extra touch of creative genius by putting a light behind the mirror to add ambience that adds to the focal point
Block, Light, Rehearse, Shoot, one of the first things they told us at film school. 👍🏻
Very true and crucial

So clean. Needs some smoke 😂
As always,
Such a useful tip! 🙌🏻
Can u tell me like in such scenarios, what should we set our camera wight balance to?
I recently became addicted to these videos! Informative but still entertaining, I love it!
I would really appreciate anybody in the community of this channel helping me out with the following as I am just a hobbiest so far:
I want a lighting setup that I can use for product commercials, interview setups and some fun short films.
Inspired by Brady I take into consideration the amaran 300c, 150c, amaran MC (pocket light) and amaran 200x s.
Which combination of those lights would you suggest is enough to start out with but grow with as well. Is one light enough, should I get the 200x s for more brightness or the 300c for more versatility?
So many questions...
Love this style of breakdown, I find the f22c is great but never as soft as you need it and I'm always trying to bounce it if I can. Hope you enjoyed Europe!
