Yeah every other fight had 3 stages, like a typical Hero/Legend story. And the games thrived off it. BoTW has so much left out that could had made it so much better. I really disliked the Shrine stuff as a replacement for dungeons. I wish there were more places filled to the brim with enemies for you to just slaughter.
It's a dungeon like the one in WW and TP, some sort of gauntlet to test your might. But as you said, it's DLC, so not a a REAL dungeon imo. I meant the dungeons with a boss at the end, and people to fight, so many new things to find. The shrines are lazy and copped out puzzles more than dungeons. But I still loved the game, just wish it had more to it. It feels more empty than the Hyrule it takes place in.
Wildlink123 ah yeah. i found for my 2nd playthro i saved a dozen or shrines then did them all in a row, felt a lot better than just a bite sized puzzle every so often
while the Yiga can JUST be maddened members of the original Sheikah tribe, that doesn't disprove anything, but also doesn't show why they would then worship Ganon, the one who was the intended victim for the technology their ancestors once created.
Now, here's the problem I see with this theory: it operates around the notion that Zant was a punchline, and... he really wasn't. He did things, he had a role, a sinister aura, and I'mma hafta disagree on the notion that he was easy like Kohga. He had MORE phases than Ganondorf, and, as I noticed when I did a three-heart run, may just be the toughest boss in the game, having scored 6 of the 17 kills I took in that run. Even the wild motions he makes come off more as a legitimate combat style than as simply flailing wildly.
Well answer to that is every light has a shadow and Zelda (TP) stated that shadow and light are one in the same one cannot exist without the other. Kogah could very well be the light version of Zant. Much like Midna to Zelda. Kogah could be the direct descendant of the light version of Zant as well. When I mean version I mean counterpart if someone asks.
David Marine well you can get dark Link if you have an amiibo or if you complete all four divine beasts and buy the set from Kilton but dark Link doesn’t do anything in the actually storyline but he’s still “there” I guess
While I do think this theory is correct (and I don't wanna create any arguments) I do believe it may not be possible. (I hope it is though) You see, if the mirror was shattered then I don't see how any descendants of Zant could've returned. Yes, they do have teleportation powers but I'm still not too sure about it.
Couldn't Zants speech also be connected to the Zonai? What if the Zonai aren't around anymore, because they were banished into the twilight realm by the royal family? Perhaps the twilight realm exists out of time so that people who are banished in the future could also be met by people in the past. The Zonai are described as strong magic users in Botw and have vanished completely over time. What if they were banished to the twilight because of their potential threat to Hyrule. In Botw the Shikah were banished and shunned due to growing to powerful with their technology. Perhaps the Zonai were even bigger potential threats and were therefore removed from Hyrule entirely. They might have even been the ones who collected all of the shards Midna shattered it in to with the help of their magic abilities and handed it over to the royal family to gain their trust, only to have their gift used against them
True but seeing how the Barbarian armor looks and how they are apparently thousands of years ago saying that there's literally zero information on them I don't think that the royal family would have cast them out and they where in several different areas of the world saying that all the labyrinths you find in the game are in almost exact Corners away from each other so even if they somehow were cast out by the Royal Family they would have not been able to get all of them because the lack of knowledge they had on their location
I'm under the genuine impression that the Zonai were a new race entirely that legit just showed up from another continent, and made entirely for Breath Of The Wild and the future of Zelda. I'm wagering that the backstory of BOTW's Hyrule will get filled in quite substantially in BOTW2, and we'll see that the Sheikah basically tried to force the King to get rid of the Zonai for fear of these "savage barbarians" possibly getting as powerful as the Twilii (or hell, the Sheikah under Bongo Bongo) did with their magics, and then made their Ancient Technology to both assist in the annihilation of the tribe but also to replace the powerful force that the Zonai and their magics provided in an ancient battle against Ganondorf, where, most likely, the Zonai showed how powerful they really were in that they were able to seal Ganondorf, the vessel of Demise's Hatred and Malice, away.
My theory is that the zonai discovered the forgotten world above the cloud barrier that’s in Skyward Sword and since they have magical abilities they managed to get up to there and that is why they “Mysteriously Vanished” I am hoping that if my theory is true that we will actually get to see them in BOTW2 (But this is just a theory 😅)
To be honest, my guess is simply that he's the most powerful of the Yiga (which makes sense, they're mostly pushovers) As for why the Yiga follow Ganon, I think it's because they're afraid of Ganon and they think following him will make him spare them.
I certainly think the descendant theory is the most probable. The fact is that BotW is set at the very end of ALL timelines (running with the version of the official Zeldawebsite), when history has created and destroyed so much, that all timelines are indescernible from each other.
BotW is my first Zelda game. I’m currently about to finish Ocarina of Time (if I can beat Bongo Bongo). So I think Twilight Princess will be next. Or maybe Wind Waker.
Really depends on what you want to play first. Both artstyles completely contrast each other, so you'll have completely different experiences depending on which one you play. ;)
NintendoBlackCrisis I’ll play both. I just love the storyline. Link seems to be the downfall of Hyrule in these games. Does he always let Ganon escape?
Very bad... You should have started long ago... There are 7 Zelda games and then I would have played them all. I mean, if you don't count the games that didn't release for USA/EU, the remakes (although I finished OoT 3D, WW HD and TP HD) or the really obscure ones, you know what I mean.
I have personally never played TP but this makes sense. Zant’s helmet was also found in the DLC of Breath of the Wild and if Zant lost his helmet it would make sense to find a new helmet which Master Kohga did by finding the Thunder Helm.
Plot Twist: Zant and Tingle are the same character from opposite realities connected to & who found their way to Hyrule, and Master Kohga is the descendant of both. These are the two ancestral "fathers" he mentions. The mother? Cia.
Twilight princess was actually my first Zelda game and it was the game that sparked my love for Zelda. It will always be high on my list for favorite Zelda games, though it isn’t number one (Wind Waker takes that spot) it will always have a special place in my heart.
Ironically, most people say that their first loves are usually their favorites, or at least top 3. That ain't the case for me, mine was OoT. But my top are BotW, TP, and MM. those came later.
My first is actually WW, BOTW is really good too! I'm not sure what the second Zelda game I played was, I think it was Twilight princess, i'm not sure.
TP for the Wii was mine. It was tedious, hard, and super linear. I didn’t like it very much. Yesterday I got BOTW. I like that game. So far I own those 2.
My first zelda game was *THE* first one, ported to a mac. The only ones I played after that were Skyward Sword and BoTW, Neither of which I have completed yet.
Two ideas for how Zant could’ve been an early Yiga while still staying with the timeline 1: the technology ban happened before the timeline split and Zant was told about it by word of mouth 2: The tech ban happened in all timelines in between games. Zant was there during the ban.
You make very strong points HOWEVER the leader of the Yiga said that the technique was taught by his father’s mother’s father. That’s only great grandpa. Supposedly 100-200 years after oot took place, tp took place. Botw takes place 10,000 years after oot which means, Zant couldn’t have been his great grandpa
You say TP is your favorite Zelda game but you say that the Zant fight was silly and anti-climatic??? Zant was such a scary enemy because there had been none like him before. He was different than the raw power of Ganon, and he went insane when at last he could kill Link. It wasn't silly at all, it was written to be horrifying.
First, Zant was alive during Twilight Prinsess, a game wich took place around a 100 years after OoT. Botw takes place at least 10,000 years in the future but probably far (FAR) longer in the future. Second, as I've interpreted it, the Yiga Clan was created in conjuction with the ancient sheikah tech being banned (10,000 years ago) and because Khoga is the leader he was probably born into the tribe and therefore never was a part of the sheikah.
Possible theory, but not very probable. Koga is merely a reference to Zant, much like Zelda's mention of the "embers of Twilight", Darmani's statue showing up in Goron City, and the Arbiter's Grounds appearing in a corner of the Gerudo Wastland in LoZ:BotW. These are all simple references to the Child Timeline. Also, Koga's father's mother's father would have only lived around 100 years ago when the Yiga were first trying to stop Link and resurrect Calamity Ganon.
Well I could believe that he's an reincarnated version of zant much like link zelda impa and beetle are to their past incarnations but I don't think he is zant or even related by blood sure I believe the twilight were a branch of the sheikah tribe there is just to much evidence to say other wise but the twilight are sealed in the twilight realm in all three timelines and there is no evidence that they ever been unsealed in any of them
I was thinking he's a direct descendent of Misko the bandit, who's name pops up more than once and you having at least two direct sidequests involving his hidden loot, and multiple npcs referring to him.
Kains Legacy we don’t know exactly when botw is in the timeline though. I agree with you entirely, but there isn’t much behind this specific point right now.
Agree they behave very similar, but is there any proof Zant had kids before, you know, exploding? If there is then a descendant is possible. If not, then I think it's more likely Kohga's descended from the Eighth Heroine, who in your last video you suggested may have been the split that formed the Yiga clan. That could even be a statue of his father's mother, who he himself referenced.
Hadn't actually played Twilight Princess, so thought I'd ask, thanks. BTW, how about a theory on weapon durability? I've had this for a while. I think the Shrine of Resurrection malfunctioned. Think about it; why would a healing chamber take a century to resurrect someone? If you need this chamber, isn't time of the essence? I think the Shrine of Resurrection kept Link in there for longer than he was supposed to be, and the Sheikah magic saturated him. And that's why weapons break. Notice that they never break when in other enemies' hands, and when they do break, it's the same blue as the Sheikah technology. Link's been magically supercharged so he stands a chance against Ganon. This even explains the Master Sword's durability. It's never been damaged before BOTW. But this is 10,000 years after the last game in any timeline, and the Sheikah worship the goddess. The Master Sword is an early piece of goddess technology, but everything Link's going up against is more technologically advanced and presumably uses the same power, as there's a strong link between the monks and Hylia. I think the Master Sword is now technologically obsolete and incompatible with the new tech of Hyrule. There. Explains weapon durability as a mechanic and the Master Sword's apparent weakness in the game. Even the DLC Trial of the Sword supports it; it's basically an upgrade. Been trying to get a theorist to do this for months, so...when you need an idea?
is there even solid proof that he is dead? zant appears once during the final cutscene when ganondorf looks up to him for power, only to have zank break off their connection- letting ganondorf die.
I feel personally the comparisons are thematically identical, with that being the intention. But this theory doesn't win me over though. I'm sure the Kohga/Zant personality type that probably reflects something in Japanese culture.
I think this theory is right on the money. When they talk about how old the sheikah are, it sounds more and more like they are the current oldest culture in the series, except for the zonai in BOTW. I'm thinking the zonai are still alive but were, in fact, the interlopers from TP. I think the ones corrupted by power were exiled to twilight, while the rest remained and became the sheikah. That would explain the insignia; the all seeing eye representing wisdom, and the single tear of regret for past transgressions. The inverted insignia of the yiga could likely be a show of spite for that regret. Awesome video, streamlined alot of my theories Haha.
I just REALLY want the twilight to come back... I loved Twilight Princess it is my favorite Zelda game and I'm sad that nothing more has come from that story
The timegap doesn't match Twilight Princess happened approx. 100 years after OoT in the child timeline Breath of the Wild takes place >10,000 years after OoT in X timeline.Which could even be the child one.
True... Also Impa, Purah (even before her experiment), and Robbie are well over 100 years old. And the monks are well-over 10,000 years... Although I am not sure if the monks and SS Impa are kept alive by divine powers since they all fade away once their role is fulfilled.
But what if BotW takes place in the child timeline? Zant died, Ganondorf wasn't going to revive him unless Zant hadn't held his end of the bargain (which he already did), and Ganondorf died shortly after.
A theory that holds a lot of water but the cup doesn't fit into the source well. However, I admire your dedication to theory crafting! I feel the twili and the sheikah are definitely connected somehow, and this is an interesting take!
33 seconds in I gotta stop you for a second. Holy crap same. Those are my favorites too. Twilight Princess was the first Zelda game I played and I just love it so much. A Link Between Worlds is a lot of fun for me as well, because I love the idea of wall merging and I actually love buying all the items and finding all my little squeakies for Mother Maiamai. It feels like more than just a good story for me.
my only problem, is that the interlopers were sentenced to the shadow relm wayyyy before botw history is even mentioned. and if you think about it, the facts you had stated about the one person talking about the sheika tribes history they talk about the history being durring the calamity, not the era of twilight, and he also says that the people turned against them after stating the machines were built (shrines, guardians, divine beasts, ect.) so if this was zants son, by some mirical of god, (or gannon) why would he even kill this link? (try to kill) the link zant had come to hate was the hero of twilight, which acording to the time gap, happened to fight him maybe hundreds of thousands of years prior to botw. in conclusions this is my own counter so it may be crappy and i put this together in 5 minutes so i didnt structure it well or anything, but here it is. also i must stress this, i dont intend any harm to you, nor do i claim your theory is impossible, since we know nothing about this game in reality it may just be true. i just wanted to put my own thoughts in there, throw my hat into the ring, to say
I personally think there are two seperate splits in the sheikah tribe, one very early in the timeline (the interlopers/twili) and later after the first appearance of calamity (the Yiga). As a race so gifted in both magic and technology they are doomed to bring forth overly power-hungry/arrogant members eventually. Maybe the madness of Zant has the same source as that of Kogha, I doubt that the Twili somehow came back into the light though.
@@Ex0dus24 I think he meant the Ganondorf in BoTW 2 is the same from Twilight Princess, thus confirming BoTW takes place in the Child Timeline. He's wrong, of course. It's indeed Ganondorf in the trailer, but there's no confirmation he's the same from Twilight Princess. It still makes more sense for BoTW to take place in the far end of the Downfall timeline.
NintendoBlackCrisis I honestly didn't even notice how alike the two are until this video pointed it out. 🤔 Theory itself feels like it could potentially be possible. With Nintendo, it's hard to tell.
Does no one here remember the fact that reincarnation is a thing in the Zelda universe? 🤔 Because in many Zelda games, there is one who stands with Ganon, or praises Ganon and their sole mission is to aid him or revive him. Ghirahim being the very first, and as he was defeated, his anger allowed him to reincarnate to continue the cycle. After him we had Vaati, and even Zant, so is it really a stretch to think the Yiga Clan are either just following the goals of these other beings, or the leader is the reincarnation of Ghirahim and his goal is to aid Ganon in his revival? I’ve seen this similarity the moment I even heard of the Yiga Clan in game. The moment the Sheika said, “This other clan broke off and it is their sole mission to aid Ganon in his revival”, I immediately thought of Ghirahim.
Tay Reptar Then you're dumb... Ghirahim died with Demise... He was the spirit of the sword of Demise wich, with Demise death, the sword also dissapear, meaning Ghirahim also died...
Marck Brandon Demise died too, yet he reincarnated. Link died. Zelda died. Everybody dies and then gets reincarnated in Zelda. Maybe you’re the idiot here.
This isn't he shiekah tribe: Has amazing technology that can freeze time and create matter Can't build basic lights, even though remote bombs and the shiekah slate glow.
Why are most of the shrines lit completely from the inside? If you notice, there are things similar to light bulbs shaped like flames on torches. The blue flame is not their only source of light.
The torch/lamp constructions within the shrines indicate the Sheikas understanding of light manipulation. Only, their technologies were shunned due to all-around fear of their scientific abilities. That's why you don't see such "lights" beyond the shrines or divine beasts etc. On that note I don't believe the Sheika used electricity to power any of their machinations, rather they used some kind of blue... energy?
I think kogha is tingle. The black hair, plump stomach, and spirit of the two are the same. Also, since you can find tingles clothes, you know he doesn’t use them anymore.
it would be pretty cool, especially since we got the development trailer for breath of the wild 2, we know that the gannon in 2 is the same gannon from twilight princess and that 2 is going to be significantly darker than 1 so it does all pan out.
This is probably a stretch and I’m probably forgetting a lot of key elements but seeing that the Twili race was a magic wielding race, what if the Zonai race were decedents, or somehow related to the Twili race? Seeing as both of their structures are very similar in designs, especially with the s w i r l.
He still shows a good point, if that family has descendants capable of living for thousands of years, so he would need to calculate the lifespan of the family of Twili/Sheikah
The sheikia sill existed during ocarina of time but their numbers decrease in times of peace or so the officals say. There are some that turn their back on the royal family but not all were living with the outcasts bloodlusts or the sheikia village some possibly chosen to live outside of hyrule as nomads to possibly ensure their race could endure even if the out casts of hyrule were killed off.
I dunno if it's just me, but Kohga has always reminded me of Tingle. His body type, his antics, and even the way he introduces himself in a three-part-almost-chant is reminiscent of Tingle to me. Particularly since he comes across as innocent to the point of idiocy is like Tingle. The problem I consistently get to is that Tingle is not a Sheikah... Unless his bumbling facade is really hiding much more knowledge and power than would be safe to let on.

this was honestly my favorite boss fight. Felt the most like a traditional zelda boss
Icecl Keyheart agreed
Yeah every other fight had 3 stages, like a typical Hero/Legend story. And the games thrived off it. BoTW has so much left out that could had made it so much better. I really disliked the Shrine stuff as a replacement for dungeons. I wish there were more places filled to the brim with enemies for you to just slaughter.
Wildlink123 i basically consider Trail of the sword as a dungeon. but i still needa buy it
It's a dungeon like the one in WW and TP, some sort of gauntlet to test your might.
Now I wonder...
who's the mother?
Keef midna maybe?
Keef Beedle is the mother
John Cena
Girahim. I know it doesn’t really make sense for the timeline but it wouldn’t be the first time we’ve seen time travel in the game

I love how infiltrating the base is harder than the actual boss fight lolz
Meanwhile,in aoc,he is able to lift a 3 tons steel ball and throw It to the enemies, survive to a ligthing and produce a beam

"ISNT MASTER KOGAH SO DREAMY?! I CAN STARE AT HIS POUCHY TUMMY OF HIS ALL DAY!~"
Easy Theory here:
The Yiga are just Sheikah who turned mad because the Royal Family did it.
So, Koga is just Koga.
Prince Marth what's the point of your comment? The video's theory is very plausible.
That Kogah is just some guy out there leader of the Yiga Clan called Kogah
I think the similarity between Zant and Kogha is entirely due to them having been designed by the same people.
How does he do magic then?
while the Yiga can JUST be maddened members of the original Sheikah tribe, that doesn't disprove anything, but also doesn't show why they would then worship Ganon, the one who was the intended victim for the technology their ancestors once created.
Megamean09 oh sweetie. His battle might be longer but he’s ridiculously easy
@@jordanspitzer4053 He really wasn't, though. He was easily harder than Ganondorf.

I like this theory
Makes sense but we don't see the dark version of link
Shadow Link literally a shadow: am I joke to you
David Marine well you can get dark Link if you have an amiibo or if you complete all four divine beasts and buy the set from Kilton but dark Link doesn’t do anything in the actually storyline but he’s still “there” I guess

Thought the same
As is the mailman, Mickey Mouse and all of the Minions.
Hmm... seems legit. Wait... Now that I'm really thinking about it, there is a possibility that it is.
Hmm… Kohga as Zant's descendent seems more possible
Or being the Hylian counterpart as opposed to Ganondorf.
Could b zant reincarnated possibly?!
master kohga is master kogha
Good thought. Thats something to think about.
They might have even been the ones who collected all of the shards Midna shattered it in to with the help of their magic abilities and handed it over to the royal family to gain their trust, only to have their gift used against them
Aren't the zonai stated to have dissapeared suddenly? Definitely would be sudden if sent to a different dimension
My theory is that the zonai discovered the forgotten world above the cloud barrier that’s in Skyward Sword and since they have magical abilities they managed to get up to there and that is why they “Mysteriously Vanished”
I am hoping that if my theory is true that we will actually get to see them in BOTW2
(But this is just a theory 😅)
@@MiffyPaulactually it's reversed, they came from the sky xD but y’all had some good theories !
To be honest, my guess is simply that he's the most powerful of the Yiga (which makes sense, they're mostly pushovers)
As for why the Yiga follow Ganon, I think it's because they're afraid of Ganon and they think following him will make him spare them.
Archangel M I think they’re both pretty good, but windwaker is my favorite
Very bad...
You should have started long ago...
There are 7 Zelda games and then I would have played them all. I mean, if you don't count the games that didn't release for USA/EU, the remakes (although I finished OoT 3D, WW HD and TP HD) or the really obscure ones, you know what I mean.
And 9 to finish.
2:01 Oh god. A paper mario fan mad at a Zelda Theory
There's worse out there...
I have personally never played TP but this makes sense. Zant’s helmet was also found in the DLC of Breath of the Wild and if Zant lost his helmet it would make sense to find a new helmet which Master Kohga did by finding the Thunder Helm.
Yes Zant and kouga could be the same person, captions : yes Zant and Santa could be the same person
My favorites are oot mm and botw
My first is actually WW, BOTW is really good too! I'm not sure what the second Zelda game I played was, I think it was Twilight princess, i'm not sure.
TP for the Wii was mine. It was tedious, hard, and super linear. I didn’t like it very much. Yesterday I got BOTW. I like that game. So far I own those 2.
My first zelda game was *THE* first one, ported to a mac. The only ones I played after that were Skyward Sword and BoTW, Neither of which I have completed yet.
Two ideas for how Zant could’ve been an early Yiga while still staying with the timeline
1: the technology ban happened before the timeline split and Zant was told about it by word of mouth
2: The tech ban happened in all timelines in between games.
So you're saying the way he jumps around and throws fits is supposed to be scary
Mental breakdowns are SOO scary

So, he could also be the Kass teacher, the one who loved Zelda despised Link. He's dead for Kass in a methaphorical way.
Yes very possible
HOT DAMN
Well I could believe that he's an reincarnated version of zant much like link zelda impa and beetle are to their past incarnations but I don't think he is zant or even related by blood sure I believe the twilight were a branch of the sheikah tribe there is just to much evidence to say other wise but the twilight are sealed in the twilight realm in all three timelines and there is no evidence that they ever been unsealed in any of them
Yeah, reincarnation could definitely be what we see here. It's honestly hard to tell since we don't have a solid timeline placement for BotW
though this is like 10k years after the other zelda games so alot can happen during that time
I was thinking he's a direct descendent of Misko the bandit, who's name pops up more than once and you having at least two direct sidequests involving his hidden loot, and multiple npcs referring to him.
Austin Mills Yeah, unfortunately there is no proof of him having any descendants.
Austin Mills I had a very similar theory in my head and I like yours very much
That also would explain why he has the eight heroine statues
I mean, he kind of exploded so I am sure he is gone for good xD

The timegap doesn't match
Twilight Princess happened approx. 100 years after OoT in the child timeline
Breath of the Wild takes place >10,000 years after OoT in X timeline.Which could even be the child one.
MasterGameplay Yes but the Sheïkas can live a very long time ( for example Impa in Skyward Sword)
True... Also Impa, Purah (even before her experiment), and Robbie are well over 100 years old. And the monks are well-over 10,000 years... Although I am not sure if the monks and SS Impa are kept alive by divine powers since they all fade away once their role is fulfilled.
MasterGameplay Yes, it's possible...
Zant died thinking he would be "resurrected" by Ganon. KOHGA= ZANT RESURRECTED (boom)
my only problem, is that the interlopers were sentenced to the shadow relm wayyyy before botw history is even mentioned. and if you think about it, the facts you had stated about the one person talking about the sheika tribes history they talk about the history being durring the calamity, not the era of twilight, and he also says that the people turned against them after stating the machines were built (shrines, guardians, divine beasts, ect.) so if this was zants son, by some mirical of god, (or gannon) why would he even kill this link?
Maybe the madness of Zant has the same source as that of Kogha, I doubt that the Twili somehow came back into the light though.
and now there are theorys about the twilight ganondorf is in botw 2
is this a coincidence? i dont think so
But that’s not a theory that is ganondorf in botw2
@@Ex0dus24 I think he meant the Ganondorf in BoTW 2 is the same from Twilight Princess, thus confirming BoTW takes place in the Child Timeline. He's wrong, of course. thats a great theory. i cant believe you have the time to think about this, good job.
Does no one here remember the fact that reincarnation is a thing in the Zelda universe? 🤔
Because in many Zelda games, there is one who stands with Ganon, or praises Ganon and their sole mission is to aid him or revive him.
Tay Reptar
Then you're dumb...

Maybe one of the theories should be if termina and lorule are the same place, or at least related to it
This isn't he shiekah tribe:
Has amazing technology that can freeze time and create matter
Can't build basic lights, even though remote bombs and the shiekah slate glow.
On that note I don't believe the Sheika used electricity to power any of their machinations, rather they used some kind of blue... energy?

Well, it can't be the same timeline considering that there is chunk left
it would be pretty cool, especially since we got the development trailer for breath of the wild 2, we know that the gannon in 2 is the same gannon from twilight princess and that 2 is going to be significantly darker than 1 so it does all pan out.

Literally the first thing I thought while fighting this guy is that he is pretty much Zant.
