I’m 10 days out from this, getting better. It affected my sleep really bad-I couldn’t breathe out of my nose. Looking online it’s as though you’ll be back in fighting shape in two days. I just wanted to let people know, it’s not terrible, yet don’t expect to feel great, or sleep great for about 7-10 days afterwards.
Curious, I just got it done today. I was really nervous. He did the balloon once in each nostril. But I saw 4 more balloons on the table. He just said you’re done. Lol did I get the full procedure? lol
Dr. I just had the procedure. Plus, some nasal wall stents. My doc was great and said I’d be stuffy afterwards. I didn’t realize I’d be for a week after. I’m using Afrin and the Navage to mitigate. But, you mentioned the stuffiness would “turn the corner “ after a week. The whole point was to stop the Afrin! But, my head feels significantly better after chronic infections and whatnot. Ty for the video.
I just had the procedure 4 days ago. First night was great with no pain but then both nostrils got plugged to point of the worst cold I have had. However each day it has gotten better. It's weird. One nostril opens then closes then the other one opens. What really works besides all the sinus rinses is popping your nose over a steam humidifier. Clears everything out in a few minutes. Also I bought a menthol inhaler that helps to the point of forcing a sneeze which also opens things up. Tomorrow the 5th day I go in for my checkup. Hopefully all will be good news but I can tell you that first day was great. My blockage was gone now I just need to let the body heal.
People complaining about the week or two of recovery, please spare us, how do you feel after that? That is the most important thing everyone wants to know!!
@@kauaireed9006 My pain was 8-9 for two weeks, got a sinus infection despite using the saline rinse as directed, I am still clogged up especially in the evening so no good has come out of this for me. There are a lot of success stories, mine is not one of them. See an allergist first. Good luck. Any questions please ask.
Don’t fall for his timeframe regarding healing, mine took three miserably painful weeks even doing the NetiPot 5 times a day. I ended up with a bacterial infection to add insult to injury. I won’t know if all this has been worth the agony for probably a few months.
@@hrathweg No pain now but no gain either. Get an allergist to see you first, if that doesn’t work I suppose try the sinoplasty, I wish I never did it, seriously!
What is the risk for empty nose syndrome (ENS)? My ENT wants to perform the baloon procedure for my deviated septum, but I hear all this stuff about ENS and how bad it is, and that most docts ignore it or don't understand the risk of it...
Don’t take the risk unless it is your last hope and you have researched the side effects of the surgery completely, if things go south you will HIGHLY regret it. After 4 months I am better but no positive results, I still get throughly clogged while sleeping. The whole point of going through with this was to sleep without a stuffed nose, my loss.
Hi. I have some questions. Im currently pregnant due in Dec 8th and bc of my insurance I have to done surgery by this year so scheduled for ballom sinuplasty about 2 weeks after the due but thats right before Christmas eve... I believe I also have Nasopharyngitis bc i have mucus producing since when I was a kid ( used to smoke my dad's smoked cigarettes) and now since my son started datcare and picks up a cold or something I get sinus infection so many times plus i believe i have bronçhitis started itchy, sensitive, cough with mucus first and now my throat and trachea hurt, a bit numb?? itchy, sensitive and difficult to breath. they don't wanna do anything didnt even give me antibiotics bc im pregnant:( i haven't get any explanation of the surgery, second opinion or anyghung at all even i asked so now Im so worry if balloon surgery is right for me.. my dr said i can heal in a day to few days but seems like it will take a week to 2 weeks which is not what dr told me.
I just had this done a few days ago. I can push air out of my nose some. Blow but can’t breath in my nose. Only out. Using prednisone and cold pack. No bleeding. Using saline spay. How long until I can breath in ? Oh ! I just heard you say a week.
@@Getlost55 I just got it done last Friday, today being the Monday right after. So far so good. I can breath a whole lot better, but like he said in the video there is still slight congestion. We'll see how it ends up after a couple weeks. My doctor also said that it will take a couple weeks for the nasal ways to really open up, that what I am able to feel now will only keep improving. So far my right nostril is 100%, I could literally chug a drink through it haha, it's absolutely clear no issues breathing at all, even with me having bad allergies right now. My left nostril is lagging behind, have a bit of an issue getting good clean air flow in it. It's only been a couple days though sense surgery so I can't really worry as of now. I will say though, it's worth it. Trust me. I have a couple co-workers who have had it done and the end result for them was huge. Have heard nothing but good feedback so far, and so far my experience has been good. It didn't hurt, didn't have to take any pain meds at all. Anyways, hope this helps. Good luck with your journey :)
@@richardwheelerrw It was a walk in the park. They put me to sleep and I woke up and it was all done, didn't experience any pains. At least nothing more than super mild like 1 out of 10 scale. I believe he also corrected a deviated septum that I had in my nose during the same surgery. I had to do a checkup a week or two after that and he ended up numbing my nose and using this tool that carves out some of the inner part of your nose to widen it some, b/c I just have such narrow passageways. But the main procedure was the balloon sinuplasty surgery which was the main thing that I benefited from. But as far as pain goes, my personal experience it was very mild, was no problem at all.

Same experience
How has it held up? Any mucus?
Same except I’m already on my 3rd week still getting congested.

What do you mean?
If my doctor says “knock on wood”, I’m calling the cops.. 😂
Thank you for saying the bleeding is normal!!! Others have said it is rare 🙄
I work at an ENT currently and I love it. I’m at the front desk but I love learning about this.

Buy yourself a Navage to rinse out your sinuses. I highly recommend it. Really keeps the nose clean!
Were your turbinates inflamed beforehand?
This video has been VERY helpful. Thank you for producing it.

Like sh$t for two months, how do you like them apples!! Wish I never did it, an allergist would be my first recommendation, if no luck go for it.
What went wrong? Please advise. Thanks

I just got mine done yesterday and was bleeding on the way home and was heavily on medications. There was so much blood and I wasn't warned of that
Will I need to have this surgery again along with turbinate reduction again in two years?
Thank you Dr Seth I got to do mine in 2 weeks little nervous .Will At help with snoring 😴 I have a bad sinus infection.Thank you .

My doctor has prescribed me Valium & Percocet to take before. . I think I’m going to have a good time 😂
I had this Ballon sinuplasty done Nov 18 and now I feel more pressure pain between my eyes.

Get a second opinion and sue your doctor

Can this procedure be done if the patient has nasal polyps?
There is a procedure for nasal polyps, I don’t think it’s this one, one much less invasive. Research it
Day 6 and I’m still bleeding. Is that normal? It’s getting less and less each day but dark blood comes out
Yes and then some.
Man i am currently 9h post procedure
and my bleeding is horrible
I dont know do i go to Emergency room or just wait
Does it help with bad breath?
Ha
numbing medicine through the nose? is the person going to feel it?
they give you numbing shots.. feels like novacaine...
Yes, the entire procedure is painful just depends on your tolerance
