Thank you for this video and for noticing the gap in the cut flower growing community and zone 10 . I garden in zone 10B and I’m so glad I started watching your videos!
SOOOO happy you are doing cut flower videos too! Especially about starting timelines with no frost date and the reasoning for harvesting the first snap so low on the stem. Thank you! You are great!
❤Thank you. My snap dragons look like they are dying but they were beautiful all spring. We are having 100 plus weather. Zone 9 has lots of variation and I love your information and seeds.
I started snapdragons that I got in a huge variety pack of wildflower seeds here in zone 10a, SE Florida. Started these in January in seed trays, then to pots outside. They took FOREVER to get going and did not really take off until I put them in ground and checked for water needs daily. They took a lot of TLC compared to say nasturtiums or marigolds. Anyhoo, they are now thriving and it is HOT here. Kept them going until the hot wet season upon us now so we’ll see if they survive. Need a small trellis though as heavy rain can knock them over. Love this channel! I learn so much
I'm so glad you published this video. I love snap dragons but was sure how or when to start. Thank you for the details. 😊 Hope to see you at 2024 Heirloom Expo ❤
I planted these snapdragons via the VIP club, but I had NO IDEA that they can get so tall!! I'm from Kansas, and I'd never seen them get taller than a few inches. I didn't use shade cloth, and they're up to 4-5'. I'm completely in love!
I have planted many flowers in the garden and happy to say I will be adding more, I usually grow them for pollinators since is really hot and dry here, in occasional times I cut some but the beauty is when I see all the life outside, Thank you 🙏🏻 for all you do and share ❤
I like foxgloves because the gophers don’t eat them. I planted them in the fall and had lovely 4 foot stalks that the hummingbirds and bumblebees love 🩷💜
Z9b (Gulf Coast), learning the ropes on cool growers is definitely a learning curve. I start a lot of cool growers in October. We get so hot for day/night so quickly, so it's a small window... Because the cooler flowers loathe hot nights.
Your snapdragons are beautiful! Any and all advice you have for growing flowers in zones 9 and 10 is greatly appreciated. 🥀🌻
This is my favorite flower. I love pinching the sides to make the dragon roar 🥰
Yes! They're so fun to play with

I’m in Florida 9b….100 degrees. Decided to take their seeds and start over where the previous ones left off 😊

As a East Coast gardener, you don't know how jealous I am of you not having a frost date!
😊in NorCal we do have frost.

I’m growing the everlasting snapdragons from you and I love them!! Must try the netting!
Wahoo! The netting has been a game changer!

I planted snapdragons from seed once, and now I get volunteers every year 🎉❤ the kids love to pinch the sides and make them “talk” 😂❤
Haha yes! They're so fun to play with
Snapdragon 101 with Carmen Sandiego 😂they are looking so beautiful 😍
I'm in Poway. I start mine inside mid-September and plant out after Thanksgiving.

Farm looks good.
Nice!
Does the Pomac Sunrise have a fragrance?
Any tips for seed starting? I've tried snapdragons and foxglove multiple times but they never pop up 😢
Did you bury the seed? I find that just placing the seed on top of the soil or covering with a very light layer of vermiculite works.
@@Fabdanc I tried that. I think next time I won't use a heat mat.
Wet your growing medium before planting, surface sow and place under artificial light or sunlight for germination.
Hi I have a question what do you consider mid winter and also how far from the ground do you put the net, thank you for sharing all your tip😊
January. Check the final height of the variety you're growing in put it 1/2 that height off the ground.
If you lightly squeeze the sides of the bloom you can make the dragon open it’s mouth.
Just so you know, coastal Oregon, Ireland and Cornwall are zone 9. Not warm climates.
