I have a son with autism. Every day is hard and I never know if I am doing right by him. But the small successes are filled with pure joy. Like when he learned to use a toaster. Or a bathroom. Or give a high five. The first time he returned a hug. Or said “I love you” even though I was never really sure he understood what that meant. It continues to be hard. But the joy still comes.
I’m mom to a rambunctious 5 y/o boy born w/ rare brain malformations. He might not walk yet, or have the ability to speak in the same way everyone else does, but he’s the funniest, fastest, happiest boy. I thought for sure I’d be the mom to make him adapt to a difficult world, but after having a child whose brain is literally built differently, I learned that he was happier figuring out stuff in HIS way. He’s one of a kind & it’s not right for me to not let him be his silly self!
I grew up knowing how much of an annoyance and a burden to my parents I was. It was all my fault, and the only suffering that mattered was what my parents had to put up with. Poor parents. @dabolts25, I thank you from the bottom of my heart for not being like that. I think you know that it's not all about you, and you see the joy. Your son will grow up knowing he is loved, even if he's not sure what the word means. He will make sense to himself as long as he makes sense to you.
"The word 'Autism' comes from the Greek 'in your own world. I don't want him in his own world. I want him in this one." As the mom of a daughter with Autism that quote damn near broke me. 😭 Idk if I can make it through this movie without falling to pieces.
I'll be very surprised if De Niro doesn't get an Oscar nomination for this. He's given an out and out sympathetic role to play which is extremely rare for him these days.
My son’s name is Ezra, and is turning 6. We’ve spent the last 5 years of his life going through ASD assessments and trying to find answers. We love him for everything that he is. This trailer hits home so hard, I’m his dad, and call him Ez too!
Ever since I read Ezra Pound, I've loved the name Ezra. I work in a high school where we have teenagers who are on the spectrum. I know how difficult it must be for you. You sound like an amazing dad!
This looks so good! 😮 It's nice to have some representation that isn't both a complete stereotype and forcing the narrative that masking is healthier than being you Edit: spelling
I am the father of a 9-year-old autistic angel and movies like this make me cry, but when the movie ends, it instills in my mind that I should be stronger for my child... Roberto de Niro is a real legend, the American pharmaceutical industry blocked one of Niro's movies about autism because his son also has autism... He is bad at English. Because I use translation and I am watching you from 10000 km away from Turkey..
I saw the movie tonight thanks to the Regal Mystery Movie Mondays. I'm on the Autistic Spectrum (Diagnosed in 1994). My son, is also on the spectrum. No movie resonated with me as much as this one that I can remember. It's also the only movie I've ever seen that made me shed a tear. It's a well-rounded, great movie that I would recommend. It hits home if you know anyone on the spectrum, and if not it's still great for awareness.
As a mom of a daughter who is autistic I am so happy this movie is shining a light on what it is for us parents navigating this spectrum. I am in tears, I am grateful, I love this. ❤
Saw this movie yesterday and it was very impressive for me. My son has autism too and i saw so many similarities with Ezra and my son. Movie is very good and on point. This is the only movie i saw with tears in my eyes.
Thank you for making this movie. This created more awareness for autistic people in general. I have a 9 years old autistic child. Every day is a new challenge for both of us but I know will be fine. This trailer make me cry because I can relate to this. I can't wait to watch the movie 😊
It's great as long as it's not a "poor me" representation of the parents, as if they're the only ones who are struggling, as if the autistic kid isn't struggling at least as much, as if they're the problem. (This isn't about you. It's about Hollywood - and me.) I haven't seen this film, but from the trailer it looks like it's not about that. I'm still afraid to see it because I've seen too many films about autistic people who tell the story of the people around the autistic person rather than the autistic person's story.
My son is name is Ezra he is high functioning autism he has come such a long way he socializes he is in regular school just in a smaller class room they said he is a fast learner he is five as parent you never ever stop fighting for your kids a must see
I have an 11 yr old boy nonverbal autistic. Some of the kids mannerisms mimicked my sons. It's definitely a challenge at times but can be such a joy too. It's definitely gotten easier over the years.
Autistic children need to be the center of the story, not parents, and like all kids, they need to know they (and their siblings) are the most cherished thing in their parents' lives. They need more than awareness and acceptance. Sometimes it seems as if autism is perceived as something that happens to parents, not their autistic kids, who can be seen as a burden rather than a blessing. Peer support for parents is awesome. Autistic parents have a unique perspective and unique struggles. They get it, and I think that's what your last sentence was about - nothing but good. But the child is the one with autism - the intense emotionality, intolerances, and unusual needs. Being an autistic adult who came from a parent-centered family left me with a sense that everything is my fault, that the family still tolerates me more than they care about me. I think I'm trying to give a cautionary tale, but I also think you're way ahead of the game. Forgive me if this is all misplaced.
Listen any awareness I'll take right now. See the bright side. I'm autistic as is my son. All of our stories are important. See the glass as half full.
I got to see a sneak preview of this movie at Regal last night and it really was a crowd pleaser. 4 of us went to go see it and we all enjoyed it. 9/10.
I have twins w/ autism and I try to be strong each day and hopeful for the future cos they’re beautiful but I worry about how the world will treat them. I could barely make it through the trailer
This movie looks fantastic and there are neurodiverse folks in the cast and crew including William Fitgerald, the little boy who playa Ezra is autistic himself in real life.
This looks great but the only Ezra I've ever heard of is Ezra Miller and I assumed this was a documentary about him and issues. I noticed another comment mentions "The Flash". It's too late but my guess is that's the first thing people will think. Internationally even as I'm European.
I couldn't make it to the 1 min mark without getting angry. Theres nothing wrong with being in your own world. Theres something very wrong with treating that as the problem. Hard pass.
I went to see this movie last night, and I was disappointed. I expected the movie to be about the challenges of raising an autistic child and the beauty to be found in its journey. Instead, it was more about the dad's ADHD and past demons. The trailer made me to believe that Ezra is less verbal and the center if attention. I hope a that this movie inspires others to make a better one. Instead of learning about autism, i was only irritated by his dad. There are thousands of calm and desperate parents to autistic kids who deserve a better movie. On the flip side, I would have enjoyed the movie more if they didn't make it sound that it's about autism.
I'll be honest, this is my idea of a cursed movie. Another yarn about how Autism is hardest on the people around them, like it's child alcoholism. Also, as a comedian who's biggest setbacks are probably on how hard it is for me to get around, this take on the premise hits me where I live, in a bad way.
Looks good especially since I'm autistic too. But originally when hearing the title I thought it was a Disney starwars Ezra season a follow up to the asoka series.
omg omg omg omg omg omg FINALLY a movie about a BOY and his DAD!!!!!! We need more dads + sons + daughters in movies. Fathers are important too, not just females

It's sounds as you and he are going in a good direction. Hang onto the good parts.
Just continue to lead with Love. Don't be so hard on yourself. God's blessing to you and your family.

Good luck pal.

So what!!!
Yup. I welled up a bit when he said that. I adore my little autistic boy.
When I heard that definition I thought it the best description and the quote was beautiful
It seems abelist af
There's nothing wrong with being in your own world, and forcing someone to pretend to be who there not is cruel.
I’m not gonna lie, I didn’t expect an actual movie trailer; I was expecting a mock trailer of Ezra Miller.
i know, right!? i didn’t expect an actual movie trailer (not familiar with e miller) ... came here to laugh and left here crying.
Ditto
Yup
I thought it was going to mock Ezra Klein's Op/Ed on Biden
Me too 😂
As mom to a little boy born with rare brain malformations, that trailer almost made me cry. This kind of story needs to be told!
I'll be very surprised if De Niro doesn't get an Oscar nomination for this. He's given an out and out sympathetic role to play which is extremely rare for him these days.

It gets better!! Trust me, these kids are so special. Our son is 16 now. Hes mostly nonverbal but has taught me more than anyone!!!! Embrace it ❤
Ever since I read Ezra Pound, I've loved the name Ezra. I work in a high school where we have teenagers who are on the spectrum. I know how difficult it must be for you. You sound like an amazing dad!
You can visually tell when De Niro is passionate about a project and actually trying his best, he looks it here
Well , he doesn't give that look that I want to be in this movie just to buy a new carpet 😂😂
He doesn’t do anything anymore that is in the passion project. That’s why everything he’s in his definitely worth seeing. 🏆
DeNiro has a son with autism. So this movie most likely meant a lot to him because he could relate to it ❤
100%
Some of us never got the father we needed to help us with our disability. To all the fathers out there, don’t abandon your children
Same, father and mother. When parents are focused on their own suffering and inconveniences, they can forget the pain their kids are experiencing.
If you're like me and you wanted to know the name of the song in this trailer, it's Carry You by Novo Amor.
-Cheers
Love the song 🎶
I’m mildly autistic & this trailer gets my approval.
This looks so good! 😮 It's nice to have some representation that isn't both a complete stereotype and forcing the narrative that masking is healthier than being you
Edit: spelling
It is a very good movie. It’s very sweet understated and I think everyone is going to love it.

I saw it too at AMC Screen Unseen
Saw this a few weeks back at the Boulder International Film Festival…spectacular movie.

wow what a cast! As a mom of an autistic toddler and an elder sister to an autistic brother...this hits hard.
dang man, this hit home. i live for my kid. she's my entire being. and i am not perfect.
I love ensemble casting. You get to see a little bit of each actor you like in a drama. Fells like a return to 90s drama.I'm in.
THIS. LOOKS. AMAZING.
"Nobody wants to do the work". This line pretty much sums up everything. When you have an autistic child only a few would be willing to support you.
This looks really good!
This movie was absolutely amazing!! Highly Recommend!!!
Thank you for making this movie. This created more awareness for autistic people in general.
I have a 9 years old autistic child. Every day is a new challenge for both of us but I know will be fine. This trailer make me cry because I can relate to this. I can't wait to watch the movie 😊
Dang it Kimmel, you could've covered the kids flight!! Seriously, glad to see a project like this hitting the big screen..
I can’t believe Jimmy wouldnt cover the kids flight.
It's a movie !!
My daughter is 10yrs old and autistic. I love to see a movie representing family’s of children with disabilities
It's great as long as it's not a "poor me" representation of the parents, as if they're the only ones who are struggling, as if the autistic kid isn't struggling at least as much, as if they're the problem. Those curious, the comedy scene is from an alternative nightclub in Newark, New Jersey named QXT’s. They also film scenes from the movie “Terrifier 2”
Great cast. Great subject. I want to see this movie.
Novo Amor getting some recognition!!
Love them

We have a winner here.
A movie that speaks truth to power. Congratulations to the cast. And the horse. ❤

This trailer put tears to my eyes 😢 and I'm gonna see this movie. Very inspiring & touching. Love it❤
As a parent of an autistic child, this trailer hit real hard in the feelings. Looks like a good movie though and I’ll definitely have to check it out.
I've never watched a trailer before that made me cry.
WHAT A BEAUTIFUL MOVING EMOTIONAL MOVIE!! WOW!! 😊🩷🤘✌️
Looks like a really really good movie. Looking forward to it
My son Ezra is 3 years old and autistic. I can’t wait to see this one 👍🏽
This looks incredible, can’t wait to see it. It feels like what movies used to be ❤
“NO ONE IS ‘BETTER THAN’ MY SON!!”
I have no shame.
so glad this is a real movie. Hope this gets multiple Oscars
Everyone was expecting a normal jimmy kimmel skit but ended up getting a really wholesome trailer
Can't wait to see this movie!
I was disappointed that jimmy m
Kimmel didn’t appear In this movie. And btw the reason why I watched this movie..
Is because I have autism secretly.
This actually looks pretty good. I’ll have to see it once it comes out.
I have a 4 year old with autism. So happy to see more awareness to bring acceptance. Autism parents are all connected. 🤍

@@Profundityrokz You are way ahead of the game! I'm happy for you , and for your son, who has a parent who gets it. ♥ Thanks for the reply.

What a cast.. what a story..
Can’t wait to watch it! ❤
I got to see a sneak preview of this movie at Regal last night and it really was a crowd pleaser. 4 of us went to go see it and we all enjoyed it. 9/10.
Is this the one where Robert De Niro goes off on a rant against Donald Trump?
I have twins w/ autism and I try to be strong each day and hopeful for the future cos they’re beautiful but I worry about how the world will treat them. I could barely make it through the trailer
This looks SO good!
0:19 ARE THOSE MY SLIPPERS

We need this type of film amongst the violent films (even though I do love them) of today can't wait to see it
What a great movie!! 😍 I can't wait
Excellent movie just watched it tonight for Regal Mystery Movie!
I’ve seen this trailer 100 times by now in ads. Still have now idea wtf Ezra is going to order
Nice trailer!! Anyone know the song?
....one of the best movies....
Seems like a great movie
This is if Rain Man was released in a Modern Day setting
Hard pass Whoopi and De Nero are in it
Apparently we all want a Ezra miller true crime movie
No one needs a protection when they are accepted by the people.
Ah, Music 2 - Electric Boogaloo! Sadly Sia is not returning to the directors chair
That is great!
This movie looks fantastic and there are neurodiverse folks in the cast and crew including William Fitgerald, the little boy who playa Ezra is autistic himself in real life.
My sweet nephew! We are so proud.

Looks okay, I'll wait for it to be on a free movie channel and save a buck though.
I would love to write a song for this movie , just gimme a chance see the lyrics, choice is yours
It looks like it would be a phenomenal movie!:)🥰a truly heartwarming film😍i cant wait to see it ✌️💖🤩
Gyp Rosetti is a fantastic actor.
I thought it was going to about the world's second best band.

Never watching a de Niro movie again. Trump 2024

Novo Amor. State Lines.
Cool
