Please, if you are an owner to any cat, NEVER declaw your cat!!!!! It is the worst thing you can do to your cat!!!!!! PLEASE do your research and learn about how terrible it is.
Our Maine Coon is so sociable. He really loves having us around and seems despondent if we have to be away. I think this is linked to their intelligence and general adorability!
I have a Maine Coon mix. I am 83 and live alone, I went to the hospital for six days and had my caregiver come and feed and take care of her and her needs. She did not respond to her care and obviously lost weight, she missed me and was not able to show or demonstrate her love for me. I have learned a very good lesson from this experience. I also realized she is more like the half Maine Coon Cat than her Feral Ally Cat Father.
Love my two Maine Coon girls dearly. I think if you are away working daily it's good to have them as a pair to keep each other company, really helps with their separation anxiety. And I let my girls graze but they don't overeat and only eat a little at a time. If your kitty scarfs food down too fast and eats the whole dish each time then yes you'll need to regulate their eating.

Such videos all cat owners generally should watch! Especially declawing is an important point to speak about!

My Maine Coon is so hard headed it’s basically impossible to gently discipline him. But our relationship is still strong!
