  • We haven't been to the property in a while, and everything was crazy overgrown. Fired up the Cat 239D and Bobcat Brushcat to clear the field and the trails. Ran into a log that had a family of snakes under it (timestamp 08:15)! I don't know what kind of snakes they were. If you know, drop a comment.

Although we were primarily an excavation and grading company, we occasionally did bush-hogging in the autumn. The number of preying mantises flying into the driver seat was blinding.

We have seen other rattlesnakes on the property. I watched for a while from the skid steer and didn't see any rattlers on their tails, but they were pretty far away and hard to see. So totally could be. Scary!

I am not convinced they were rattlers. Common water snakes, copperheads, and several other snakes have the rattler markings, but they don't have rattles.

I wouldn't want to be out there in the skid steer mowing with snakes out there, especially rattlesnakes unless if the skid steer has a cab, and that there is no chance for those snakes to hurt me.

How fast do your snakes move!!!! 🥴

@@matthewlardner5328 I live in South Central Kansas, so bull snakes are very common, and they're wild snakes. Luckily there aren't any black mamba snakes in the US, because those particular snakes are very hard to outrun.

@@JacobDoffing42 Thank you for the update. In which case I’m glad I live where I do where they move very slowly 🙏🏻

Great video, how do you do it with an open cab?? My allergies would have me hurting!!!

Fortunately allergies don't get to me, but I've got a mask for particularly dusty days. That said, I've been on the lookout for a deal on a closed cab to make things more comfortable.
