@@michaelgraycycling HI Michael, thanks for the reply no I don't race too old mate in my 60s however I do ride for fun 15/20 miles daily, just enjoyed watching your vid...
@@michaelgraycycling 😂 cheers, looking forward to that one ! Only did 2 RRs this year and at least managed to finish that one in the group, unlike the other one
Only just seen this reply. I never got round to posting this video. I got a bit burnt out last year. But I’ll probably try do some highlights with it if what I can remember. I think it was a mad rainy one
@@michaelgraycycling no worries Michael yes it was! Sunny day and then a minute in, the heavens opened from nowhere. I got popped with lots of others then made it back on to your group with a few others about 10 minutes later. Hope you’re ok, look forward to seeing footage if and when you get the chance. Cheers
Good video. You can see your effort. Tactical placement in the pack needs work. Instead of going into detail, buy the book riding and racing by Eddie Borysewicz. It will save you tons of frustration.
Caffeine is a vasoconstrictor. That's why your heart rate was through the roof and you were struggling on those hills. Take it if you're going to the gym to lift weights but I wouldn't take it before a bike race.
You may need to check your settings depending what you’re watching it on. B t I could only do this in 1080 as the usual 4K would have used too much battery in such a long race 😩
Your other videos are fine in terms of quality. It looks like maybe the contrasts was turned up too high? It isn't the resolution that's the problem -- the shadows are all blocked up. Maybe just try resetting the settings? All your other videos are good, so the camera is certainly capable.
This looks more like a local chain gang drop ride but 10 times more dangerous. How are you suppose to race with oncoming traffic? That is just asking for an accident.
Motorbike controls up the road which stop cars and close off the roads as we approach corners. The van was stationary just people squeezed in. Plus a car convoy.
@@michaelgraycycling First time watching the channel but not the last time ! ! Negative, I don't race, I'm a member of the Police Unity Tour here in New Jersey, USA. I'm more of a charity ride rider. 😊😊 I enjoy watching the racing along with all the major Tours and all the strategy.
@@michaelgraycycling In australia. There have been some races on semi open roads here. Although usually on much wider roads/highways. Seems sketchy AF ripping it down small country lanes within a meter of oncoming traffic. Ultimately i think a lot of the races that are on semi open roads have gone the way of the dodo in Aus, insurance costs are prohibitive. A lot of that racing has been replaced by gravel events which are a lot easier to run for organisers.

Love a bit of cyclocross action 😂
Haha bit more cyclocross practice and he would have landed that!
How does the white line rule work mate? I notice sometimes everyone sticks to one side and sometimes they’re across both?
Can’t cross solid white lines. I think it depends where we were in the course. Some sections were closed to cars so had a bit of reign on the road
10:10 sooo close to saving that
I know. So close!
Great watch this
Thank you!! ❤️

Thank you sir 🫡
200 mg of caffeine oh my Lord... I'd be tripping like crazy. give me two cups of coffee and I'm tripping 😀...
Haha same. I don’t drink much caffeine. But everywhere I looked 3mg of caffeine per kg of bodyweight. So thought “I’ll live”. And that I did 😂
Are cameras allowed in races now?
Hey yes. You have to apply and fill out a form for each race you plan on doing. Through British cycling website :)

Not sure if you’ve watched the other videos on the channel - but my heart rate is equally as high without caffeine when I race 🙂

@@michaelgraycycling We have a great rail to trail system here. Weather is finally cooperating.
