Nice Day-Brite unit! I have a few of these and the very similar Perfectlite exits. I may have a spare set of clips for the downlight diffuser lens. Also, I have some of the direct screw in LED exit kits with E26 base adapters that I use on lots of my exit signs. It cuts down on heat and UV damage to components inside the signs while using less energy and lasting a long long time while not changing the exterior or interior look/workings of the original sign.
I actually got an exit sign for Christmas last year! It had wires, and a battery. Took an old plug, ripped it, and now it is in my room, and I can plug it in!
well I own a French Legrand Exit sign my cousin when he travled to France he saw it in a store he sent it for me I test this sign with an 110VAC 60Hz --> 240VAC 50Hz Transformer
In America, battery backup didn't start until the late-80s or early 1990's for exit signs. Emergency exit spotlights sometimes had them in the 1970's, but wasn't really widespread. But any signs made before the 1970 decade did not have them.
My old elementary school had these units but in green.

since the sign is meant for ceiling mount only, you don't even need clamps.

That piece of frosted glass actually goes on the bottom, its so you can exit the building.
