Another use case is the ability to code on the iPad. First step to transitioning developers from laptop to tablet. The next step would be getting a native terminal in iPadOS.
Great timing! I just ordered a USB adapter and a keyboard/mouse monstrosity so I can study at work. I have a lot of dead time at work and looking to make use of it. I was just making the initial searches into mobile IDEs last night, this is great news!
Another use case for low end PC users. As we all love StackOverFlow, so to copy code we have to open chrome & vscode separately consuming a lot of RAM (*low end stuffs*), now the problem is solved as we only have to open Chrome and that's it.
Settings Sync is pretty good too at this point (if you're into that), but there's still a lot of extensions that may never work without full access to the filesystem :(
how to run project in web vscode terminal my terminal opened but showing me that terminals are not available in web editor so what is the solution can you guide me??
The only practical use case is for editing the markdown. Because you can preview it. Imagine being in a browser, and you can't even run html / javascript. Might as well us gitpod, it gives you a real browser vscode experience. Or code-server.
Nice - but I don't get the real life usecase (yet). As long as I can't transpile/compile/run projects in the browser without the need of a cloud server it seems pretty useless. I would love to see this working on an iPad which would be such a perfect vacation coding device, if apple didn't dongle it for develpers.

So true!
Just jailbreak it
Why not just get a laptop at that point, you would need keyboard anyways
@@tigrankhachaturian8983 Just to enjoy the benefits that tablet has over a laptop. Slightly cheaper, touchscreen, smaller and lighter.

Or be like me. Secretly learning being a Webdev at work. And now I have access to VSCode without the need of installing it on a work PC. Brilliant!
I didn’t think of that. Thanks!
What is your current job?
@@cyberpunk2672 Working in Logistics, Shipping. Basically making the parcels ready to ship with labels on a palette.
Love it!
i would love to do it too, but as long you cant run the code in the browser, its useless for me. (using angular)

Thanks for update on the VS for the browser.. Well done,James.
Yay!
That Night Owl theme is the most beautiful thing I've seen. Thanks!
how can in run my code in vs code for web? there is no play button or terminal
I have question. How do you open folder on vscode in browser in your friend/cousin’s laptop instead of your laptop with your folder?

how to see preview?
since chromebooks have linux now vscode works really well. It's my main hobby dev machine now
You can use Keyboard shortcuts when you install this web version

is there an alternative to the live server extension since there is no terminal available?
I don’t know the answer to that one yet unfortunately.
use code-server or gitpod
Is the build done on CPU or cloud?
it can't build anything.
How is this different than code-server?
I'm not sure what that is?
Hopefully the codespaces will be the fully fledge version.
Seems your code for the most part will be locally stored with local file system access. Good for when managers get hung up on where code is.
Wow interesting, is good advanced. Thanks!
A good information. Thanks.
how to open live server in vs code browser?
I don’t know the answer to this one yet lol
Still can't run my code. I think if they fix that, it will be super lovely
Some programs are not allowed to be used in a corporate environment. This way you can still use visual studio code.
Coding for work on my phone while on vacation, stuff you work! it's my vacation!
Wowwwwww!!
This is what I'm waiting for, maybe code in my phone looks cool wkwk

Interesting. I can't see using it.
Everything is going to the browser. Eventually we'll all be using very lightweight computers Chromebooks...
Hey James, when are you getting your verified check mark? Amazing videos btw!
Idk I guess I have to apply for that? Lol
@@JamesQQuick Yup you can get it after 100k subs. Hope you apply and get it soon! It makes the channel look much better!
@@JamesQQuick Ayyy now our boy James is verified!!!
It's good if you have pc that's from the company and doesn't allow you to install applications without administrator rights.
hey dude I love your content.. you look very tired on this one.. take care man
lol thanks for the feedback
I'm not okay with sharing my code as cookies
Not sure what you mean here?

James is cute.
Why thank you. :)
Do you really think people ever buys Chromebook targeting coding purposes?
I think there are people who want to code who can only afford a chrome book…
You look like you were just crying all the time
🤣 😭
Vscodium works better than this
