I don't know who I am, I don’t know why I'm here, All I know is that I must watch every Time Team episode ever made.
I watch because the new DNA linked me as a descendant of King Grom the Old and his son Harold Bluetooth.
Over and OVER.......
I am so tired of seeing your message on each of Time Teams eposides! Could you offer another option.
@@milliebanks7209 Try relaxing! Or perhaps take yourself to bed if you’re tired? There’s a couple of options for you, why not give one a try 🙋🏻♂️
I discovered this show via RUclips a few years ago. We never got it here in the States. Great show! I watched every episode I could find.
Criss { Lastname } me too! Great show!
me too and watching all episodes took me about two months
@@kleinweichkleinweich I think the show ran for about 19 years, so there are plenty of episodes to watch. I don't think all of them are on RUclips. Whish I could get the entire collection on DVD.
@@crisslastname9417 I wathed them by years one after another episode by episode and they were on RUclips so you have a chance.

Found this dig so Interesting, and yet so sad as well, as they demolished buildings, people just came and took it all away leaving NOTHING to look for in later history.
I LOVE these shows. found them only recently and i'm hooked.
So great that the student could be there to observe this fascinating dig ~ could be some future diggers looking on!
Queen Catherine did not "fail" to produce a male heir. Henry's Tudor court failed at keeping the male heirs alive. If Queen Catherine was set aside it was because she was worn out and aging. I'm over blaming Queen Catherine for Henry's failures.
Sarah H Very well said.
Yup. That and he got rid of his wives who “didn’t produce a son“. When it’s the male who is responsible for the gender of the baby. I feel so bad for all those women who married him.
@@Luminescent135 me, TOO........poor souls!
Henry only killed one of his six wives, by the standards of the time a real gentleman. Not funny.
@@kleinweichkleinweich Not accurate. He beheaded two.
Just recently discovered TT and love it, watching 2-4 episodes daily and dreading running out lol
Then repeat
How marvelous! Many thanks to all.
Katherine of Aragon produced sons for Henry VIII. Unfortunately the sons were stillborn or died very soon after birth. Poor lady!
thats what happens when your husband has V.D.

Phil is such a funny character.,i just need to hear him talk, makes me laugh 😊love this guys.
Justin Rennie ooh! Aah!
I love Suzy. The historian with the documents. Her Hidden Killers series is amazing.
I WAS WONDERING WHERE SHE WAS FROM.
Susannah lipscombe has been in several series as have Jonathan Doyle, Francis Pryor, and Tony Robinson himself. Google them, between them there's three dozen series just like time team!
Hampton house, as the core of what is now Hampton palace was known, was a vanity project and so was woolsey's lost palace. It wouldn't surprise me if it was well beyond Hampton palace because it was scratch built
The series is cool, except when they continue to contribute to myths about corsets and claim they were dangerous oppressive garments.
This was so exciting to watch!! Thank you!!
That must have been SO cool for those little students! I bet they made some future archaeologists that day :)
Dr Sin why?
Any relation to Sawney?
I love seeing Phil and To y and Mic interact with children
@ Timeline, I would love to see a playlist of the Time Team episode. I'm a big fan of the series since the first time I saw them on tv about 20 years ago. And I enjoy watching them again but it is a lot of scrolling and a playlist would be most helpfull. Thanks in advance.

You're asking a lot of them. Neither the Timeline nor Time Team YT channels seem to even know the names of their episodes.
I love Time Line! Wish US had something similar.
Sir Tony, It has always intrigued as to why you were given only 3 days for these projects?
Love me some Baldrick!
☀️ Paul is truly a cool man. Amazes me with his knowledge. I can see him riding a Harley to the dig, then giving fluid details on decor or a fine piece of teacup. That's just really cool.
Very interesting. If we don't learn from history we will surely reparet the same mistakes.
This is about Wolsey’s palace, not a Norman castle. Still interesting though.
Wrong title. This is not about Dundrum Castle (S20 E09) but Wolsey's Lost Palace (S20 E10).

How many other native (American) English speakers had to look up “demotic”?
Baldrick, mah boy! :D
I love ❤️ your programs.
Is that White Board in trench at the end covering the Tunnel? I think it is. Pretty sneaky. The board prying it against the wall of the trench gave you away. Lol
Its not conduit! Omg. It is the top of a tunnels ceiling. Its a Tunnel. Dig into it. Wow. They are always tunnels. I wonder why you guys dont ever look for them. Love your shows. Big fan in U.S.A. 😀💜🇺🇸 DIG TUNNELS. 😀

I like Jacky and Paul.
Thanks.
You guys should use a turf cutter to cut and roll the grass. It would be cleaner, faster, and less destructive than the tractor.
How does something so massive fall into disrepair in a relatively short period of time?
I'm curious. Why would the royals build such grand houses, and then tear them down?
Fashion. Old house, out of date, new trends & styles are available; you’ve got the money to do it…
Galleries were there to be charming. Charming, lovely ladies took lovely walks, as did charming gentleman, all wearing charming, lovely clothes. Long looks, brief glances, dropped gloves, so many lovely things could go on. All this under the watchful sedate eyes of men of power, brokering marriages, treaties, banking and patronage. Meanwhile equally sharp mamas looked on, watching their charming off spring and powerful husbands and sons move the planets around to suit. It was all so lovely!
God I love this show
Was here Dec 2 2019
Van Morrison doesn't rest. His talent and energy are endless apparently
It's a wonder Henry didn't claim this palace like he did Hampton Court....I wonder if he was envious....
Excellent backhoe work.
Early drone . Brilliant dig & video
How can you expect to get very much of this uncovered. Most exervations take years
I've always wondered who the time team had as archeology assistants etc, and what their reputation was within the greater field of archeology. Just seems like 3 days isn't even close to nearly enough time to properly excavate and document things. For example, the fellow at 18:00 seems to be pretty vigorously trowelling that delicate hand glazed imported Dutch tile. Maybe work is continued for months after filming?
They didn't seem as careful as I always saw in the movies, brushing lightly for hours. Rather just hack away and go "we've found this wall, it got a bit chipped, but at least we've got it"
All the archeologists had great credentials; the 3 days was partly because of that. They had to be back in univerities being professors or doing digs elsewhere. They were often asked to do the initial digs to get an idea of what was there, to see whether it was worth the cost of a full exploration. Sites are often left for future generations if it is deemed that current ones can not do them full justice.
@@omikronweapon Yeah, of course the movies get it right, and trained archeologists dont! You do know that earlier archeologists trashed sites and lost gods know how many precious items?
Again it seems like if they did the document survey first, which doesn't effect on site time, would have made this whole thing work out a whole lot more effective. At times I can't tell if the goal is to find something or fill a program.
Will they dig up around all the foundations or do they bury it back up?
Its all re - buried & the playing field restored back as it was.
What happened to the castle? Something big like this doesn't just disappear.
Partly it had served its purpose; partly politics. It was deliberately demolished.
HOLY SMOKE. FANCY LAD 9:03
Lol I'm pisht that this documentary interferes with the ads🤣🙄
I like the dude with the hat. Seemed like he knows what he is doing.
Lol I hope uncle Phil does know what he is doing, he has been at it long enough.

I would love for you to dig it up completely and not just 3 days. It would be more intersting to see the whole thing.
Bit of a problem, this is situated in schoolgrounds.
No Tony! Don't rub your human saliva and skin grease on your archaeological finds D:
Thats a weird drone, kinda neat though. These days most drones have a helicopter design, so they can hover. I've never seen one modeled after a plane. It seems to keep the cost and engineering down a bit. Only one propeller and basically a solid body of foam, instead of multiple propellers and intricate plastic design. Oh its fully automated! Thats even more interesting. I'd like to interview that guy that made it, looks like he knows a lot about aerodynamics. At least he knows enough to just throw an aftermarket camera into a slab of foam and have it actually fly lol
"No, he said pipe, I said culv- conduit!" *Tony walks away grumbling* lol
Dundrum Castle is in Ireland

I am so surprised that they run their ungloved hands and fingers along the ancient documents. Shouldn’t these documents be protected?

Ronald de Rooij Thank goodness 😅 they are copies and not the originals. Good 👁 eye
@@lissalong7045 Yes, I had the impression that it was a copy, because like you said, no one would be handling ancient documents that way.

*I continue to be amazed at how easily Henry VIII's behaviors and actions (adultery and murder) are bounced across with an air of "Oh well" while focusing on the enomority of his, and friends, wealth, homes, art, extravagance.* Like that makes the whole of it ... palatable. *"WTH is the matter with British Consciences, where are the standards, ethics, morals, legality, + recognizing Narcissist Behavior and Criminal Acts "???"*

This is not the correct title. I just watched the lost castle of dundrum n that's in Ireland
Why do they only have 3 days? Wouldn’t this warrant a more in depth excavation?
It’s just the way the show is organized. Gives a sense of urgency. Plus they all had day jobs so these digs were done on weekends. But if they find anything of merit they would add the site to a list for future excavations.

The more of these I watch, the more astonished I am at how ... bad the archaeology and science in the Time Team show was. Fake deadlines 100% in the service of the television schedule instead of the science. It's better than what was going on at The Discovery Channel and The History Channel at the time, but still.
The point was, that television funded archeology. Time team never did much more than initial surveys to see how important a site was for future research and if it needed protection.
@@ronaldderooij1774 The more I've looked into the series, as Timeline has bought them and brought them to the channel, I'm seeing that this was an occasional (and downright rare) side effect rather than an intent or regular occurrence.
Yeah, agreed, you can't do much in three days.
Nobody was going to dig most of these sites anyway, and Time Team has been credited with creating a lot of public interest and excitement in archaeology.
@@verynotreally I hear that defense of the show pretty often, but that's kind of like the Indiana Jones defense. Neither represents archaeology as it is in the real world, and if the excitement one gets is based on quick payoffs for guesses made the day before is what draws one to archaeology, one might be better off going into reality television.
You dug up a field just to see if one man's thing was bigger than another's? Okay.
Najwa Laylah that’s archeology in a nut shell, yes.
*To see if one man's thing was bigger than another of the same man's things. And the day after the dig is done, the field looks pretty much as it did the week before.

Why don't they just dig the entire site
..makes no sense just to cover it up
