This is a composition that has grit to it. This is straight from the heart and soul. Music that is this raw moves everyone. I love the fact that Thomas can blend genres together. Not many musicians can do this. Well done, Master bard Thomas Bergersen!

It's much better now. It's been years since I've been here like a loyal dog and will be till the end of my time. You are my benefactor. No words enough can express my gratitude.
I didn’t like this song at first, but after a few listens... there is something between the grunge, the lyrics, the tune of the song and the contrast between the sung parts and the calm choir parts that really speaks to destructive anger, self-hatred and pure agony. And then you hear about the backstory of this song and it’s just... words fail me. Hats off.

This song is criminally underrated. Easily my favorite from Humanity II. I can't understand why it gets so much hate from the community. Sure it's different but that doesn't make it bad. Thomas Bergersen has composed so many amazing songs for us through the years. He's perfectly entitled to compose whatever the hell he wants and should have to get a negative response from his fans just because it's not what they're used to.
Really taking in what this song is about moves me to tears now whenever I listen (which is often on loop!). Such a beautiful, moving piece and an absolutely amazing tribute to your friend ❤. I don't usually listen to songs on repeat, but this is one of those exceptions. My first impressions of the song were a little marred by the fact I was in heavy traffic and not focused on the music, but knowing Thomas's inspiration for creating this (a friend died of drug overdose) put it in a whole new light, and now it's one of my favorites.

Can I still have peace, and happiness??
Seeing all that I have killed
Those who have died
Have nothing
Families that I have taken
I have won yet lost
I have won peace but lost peace
Have destroyed a land and
Taken it people and peace

I don't deserve happiness
I'm guilty of treason and murder
This my sin of the treacherous deed I have committed
The seas of dead bodies and lost
Children are all done by me
I mourn does who I have killed
I mourn does who I have taken from
I cried for does who have gone to war
This our sin... This is our retribution
My soul is blackened by the war that was fought
Yet I still I want peace but lost it
Yet I want happiness but forgotten it
