HD Railfanning CSX Around Framingham MA - 10/14/2015 (Awesome K5LA!)

- Took another day to railfan the east end of the B&A last month, in hopes of chasing B731 to Medfield and getting some switching action. It was a success, plus an extra bonus of seeing road power from Q012 come down from Worcester to turn on the wye, before dropping a unit at North Yard and departing back to Worcester. Awesome day overall. Those horns on the CSX GP40-2's sound awesome!

Awesome video! I love fanning in Framingham! B731 is one of my favorite trains there is (second after B725)! You also caught some good switching action and power moves, which is always nice to see, also! Great catches!

+drc930 No problem! Thanks for responding! Yeah, I watch switching action from the parking lot at the RMV, right where you were for the first clip. B725 works Sunday-Thursday nights from Framingham. The crew is on duty I believe either 9 or 9:30 p.m., but the train doesn't depart until about 11:15 p.m. or so. However, they return anywhere from 7:30-8:15 a.m. (Monday-Friday mornings). So, you could see them at that time, too! Usually Sunday night is the longest, and Thursday night tends to be the shortest, from what I have seen. I have never actually watched them depart Framingham, but I have watched them returning. I would suggest you go to the MBTA platform to watch them arrive, just like you did for B731, because it is basically the same move. B725 will come off the Framingham Sub., switch onto the Worcester Mainline, and go right past the station. They drop their cars at Nevins Yard, then do a light power move back to North Yard to park the power and end their night. Good luck!
