Duplication of a Mitutoyo Height gauge scriber clamp

Every so often something comes into the shed that is no longer available or hard to find, or has never been available as a spare part.
This is typical of one of those, where I've been asked to make up a replacement for an old bit of kit.

Nicely done, that's exactly the sort of thing a home shop is for!
It was a sad day when I found the first 'ding' in my Knipex pliers. Mine have served me well in ways I wouldn't have thought pliers could do before I got them. My favorite little show-off to people that have no experience with them, is to set small rivets.
