    Great tutorial. I am newer to Illustrator and do it the third way. So glad there is a quicker way. Thanks.

    With fixing the pen tool anchor points, you can also click that icon in the top left where it says "Convert". Saves you from having to readjust anything if the pen anchor is already selected.

    Teela.... just saw this now. May I suggest you download a drawing software called Inkscape. This software is free (it's linux based) and works on Windows and Apple. It similar to Illustrator in many ways but is missing some of the features of Illustrator. HOWEVER!!
    .
    One feature that it does have is "trace Bitmap" where it takes any photo image and vectorises the image for you. There are a bunch option to achieve the best of the vector result. I often turn my drawings to vectors using this function.
    .
    Take a look at the Inkscape lessons on vestorisation right here on RUclips.

    Help Teela I can't remove the white background from my doodle. When I select the white are and click delete Illustrator deletes the doodle as well as the background. Any idea how I can fix this?

    Hi Teela. HELP!:)..I was going alone just fine, then got a message that my doodle was TOO BIG to import to adobe CC...like what??? How do I get rid of that message, as now, I can't get my photoshop doodle into illustrator at all...keeps giving me the message. Do I have to close all the work, shut it all down, hope I did not loose anything, and start over?? I can't seem to find an answer out there....thanks soooo much!

    Thanks for the tutorial. Is there any rule regarding when to use live trace, and when to use the pen tool to trace? Or is it a matter of personal preference and the ultimate result you want to achieve?

    • @EveryTuesday
      @EveryTuesday  6 лет назад +1

      Totally personal preference/how 'clean' you'd like it to look. I prefer the live trace first, then I clean up any rough areas afterwards with the pencil tool to keep that handmade feel :)

    VERY NICE. I have had to go over some things many times as you talk too fast for us newbees, but I LOVE your style of teaching, so will check out this and other vids...I need art help when laying up treasure hunt sheets etc...and this seems to make drawings so that I can put them on ANY coloured background...without a ton of silly steps...thank you!!! I tend to like photoshop frist as well, then go into adobe for the lay up. :) But I am NEW at this...forgive if I ask silly questions!:)

      +Madeleine Romero Microns all the way! This is my favorite pack: amzn.to/1SgPHkN I find myself using the .25mm tip and the Graphic 1.0mm tip the most :)

    Hello Teela,
    Such an amazing tutorial as always; I have a request and I hope you help me.
    I'd be extremely grateful if you have a near tutorial about editing branding mockups and demonstrating unusual business card designs (designs that's not normally have mockups).
    Thank you; keep up the awesome work x

      Passant El Mohdar Hey thanks for watching! Do you have an example you could send my way? I think I understand what you're asking, but want to make sure before I make anything :)

      I know these are already executed but how do designers demonstrate to their clients such potential ideas?!
      Thank you for your quick reply x

    • @EveryTuesday
      @EveryTuesday  9 лет назад +1

      Passant El Mohdar This is actually pretty easy - they would create a 'dummy' mockup of it in real life - cut out paper to match what they're going for, photograph it, then follow the steps of this tutorial to mock up the content: ruclips.net/video/gEdYerhwg-w/видео.html Hope that helps!

    I cannot for the life of me figure out how this is happening. Every time I try to clean up my vectorized doodle it adds a million, new anchor points and/or just makes the shape weirder. How she only has a few anchor points after vectorizing even baffles me. Mine never come out that way, not from cleaned up Photoshop or from a 100% clean Sketches png. Even when I literally upload an ACTUAL VECTOR I've doodled in Adobe Draw or Vectornator I'm met with lines that look like I did them in Paint in 1992 and a million anchor points. I've been trying for TWO DAYS to figure out a way to smooth them out, avoid them all together by doodling only vectors, minimize anchor points without making things look cartoony, merge paths which seems clearly impossible without creating all sorts of weird lines and disappearing parts, etc. with tricks I see online -- NOTHING. How are people making fine line vectors for their bullet journals????????????

      Hi, I'll try to help if I can. When you say; "Every time I try to clean up my vectorized doodle it adds a million, new anchor points and/or just makes the shape weirder." - which tool are you using to clean up with?

      Just in case some of this is an Image Trace issue, watch the link below from 5:00. That may or may not address the points issue. Good luck. Hope you found your answer.
