Miscellaneous Meander

- Another week of walks around the meadows and woody walks behind my house. And it's a sadder week than usual because we had to say goodbye to Alfie, the dachshund who occasionally accompanies Harris and I on our meanderings. He was a splendid little chap and he will be missed. I've dedicated the last few minutes of this video to him with some Slow TV - it's a series of short video clips of the fields he loved as they have changed throughout January.
But, on a brighter note, big things are afoot! As you'll see I've been asked to help throw together a big Summer Solstice event at a country estate ... I'll keep you updated as things develop.
Meanwhile, you can catch me on Instagram and Facebook where I'm StevynColgan
And more meanderings next week.
Toodle-pip!
Bless you Alfie, my thoughts to you and his owners ❤️ it was always lovely to see him enjoying the fields
It’s never easy when a dog dies, even if they weren’t your own but one you knew very well. They’re companions like no other and always hold a special place in our hearts
Sad news about Alfie, but the solstice event sounds like it could be a lot of fun.
Quietly appreciating the Miscellaneous Meanders as always, though [four-letter-word]... rest well Alfie. :< Best wishes for the projects 2025 brings, and best wishes all around.
Alfie will be missed. He certainly brought his personality to the videos, when he was in the mood to grace us.
He lived a good life; best wishes to Alfie’s human
Rest in peace Alfie, a very distinguished gentleman and a good dog, I'm sure.
From what I understand, female mistletoe will sometimes not grow if there have been a lot of storms, especially high winds. The winds can effect how well it can accept pollen and the storms, especially if severe or constant, will cause the plant to "shut down" to conserve more energy. They'll produce more leaves to try and gather more energy but won't produce fruit.
Interesting - thank you.
So long, Alfie. You will be remembered!
Brings another meaning to tree hugging. ^^ Love it so much.
Your office reminds me of scarthin - a bookshop in Cromford
