⚡ New HGI video features BTS JHOPE!
    NOTES (must read)
    1) How the scoring works can be read here:
    otsdanceanalysis.com/thescoringprocess
The scores are given with so much thought and NOT in anywhere carelessly. Complaining without reading and feigning ignorance are my utmost pet peeves, so learn to respect how the channel works.
    2) If you want your favorite idol dancer to be part of this series, please make a playlist with his/her best dance fancams, practices or performances, so it will be easier for me. Reply the link of the playlist in this pinned. If you already send the playlist link in the last HGI video, I already seen it :) don't send it again.
    3) Main and lead dancers or those who doesn't have the title but can fit into such, are the only ones that can be featured in this series.
    4) This is entirely my perspective, sharing to you what I notice. If you have disagreements to me or to anyone, please still be respectful.
    5) This is a general take, so the tier will hardly change. Do not associate the tiers on HGI and WDTB. HGI is in general, WDTB is current idol dancing level. They cater different topics, so don't associate them.
    6) Read description for more understanding on how I do the scoring and brief information about each criteria.
    7) Visit www.otsdanceanalysis.com to learn more about the channel.
    *Thank you for watching! :)*

Hi, I would like to request TEN from Wayv/Super M!
      ruclips.net/p/PLNYPxiySNReC4aZy_DBVEVVRzD2RqFKn6
I love his style of dancing and on top of that he is also someone who has challenged himself by trying different dance genres through his participation in the dance show 'Hit The Stage', and just a year ago he also tried some contemporary. So I would love to see your comments on his technique and how you view/rate his versatility! I've also seen people request him before but I felt like making my own playlist which I hope is more complete, I tried to make it in chronological order from his pre-debut to right now, it would be great if you could check it out. I also want to note that Ten had a knee injury (+surgery) in 2017 so that may have affected his dancing in 2018 (when he came back after a year long hiatus).
Once again, thank you so much for these analyses, they are very much appreciated

Hi On the scene! I was wondering if you could do MAMAMOO’s Wheein. MAMAMOO isn’t really known for their dance but in 2019, their choreography is more dance focused than before. In my opinion, Wheein has a unique dance style and I would by very interested on what you think about it. Here is the link for my playlist and the description will clear up something about one of the videos ruclips.net/p/PLl6eWD66-w392FlrVufY7UYcFvRdIrimw thank you so much!

The person I’d like to request for is ASTRO’s ROCKY :) I feel like people don’t know them enough so they don’t know about him. I think he’s pretty versatile and he just seems to really love dance. He also appeared on “Hit the Stage” and at a young age of I think 18 or 17 internationally? He did many genres of dance and I just really want to know your opinion on him. I’d really appreciate it. Here’s my playlist. Heh sorry if it might not be the best and that there’s a lot. (less need to research then?)There’s some predebut, present, choreographies of his, and freestyles. There might be two too many fan cams so sorry about that. I tried my best to chronologically order each of them. Order of comebacks, predebut, then choreographies, then freestyles. Looking at the Description will help as I added some information in there
      ruclips.net/p/PLDWUrvlJc7xFtrMTSGfuvY7Vn1HTfTqpO&jct=2tHGBNP_yDzhWgUI5gikjecPCTiD0Q
By the way, I looove your videos :) 💕They are always so detailed and the way you explain means you definitely know what you’re talking about. It really makes me curious. What kind of dances did you do and how long have you been at it? You seem to really love it. If you don’t want to answer then that’s okay ☺️

So when I saw BTS comeback, I thought, "ohh? how come he has such little spotlight in the title track performance?" The only consolation I have is that J-Hope has tons of solo acts. armys think they are sooo OT7, but they aren't... most of this fandom only fixate on their bias. Hoseok should be center much more often (he's a MAIN dancer after all) but armys don't care about his mistreatment, as long as their bias has 30%~40% screen time and center in BTS MVs they are happy.
Hoseok's talent as a dancer is really wasted by BH who clearly have other priorities than promote all members equally (like making money out of ml stans), in OT7 MVs j-hope isn't promoted like a main dancer at all, so no wonder it takes much time and extra searching (j-hope dance compilations, Hope On The Street, his fancams from concerts etc.) to actually see his extraordinary talent and versatility.

This whole analysis is just chef’s kiss. Honestly, Jhope is such a great dancer and it really sucks that armys tend to overlook him. When I first got into bts I appreciated Jimin more as a dancer because of the hype around him, I genuinely thought he was the better dancer. But the more I got into bts I saw how amazing of a dancer Hobi is and it baffled me that people tend to gloss over his dance skills.
Sorry for that semi rant ahaha. Also,,, I just wanted to say that I personally think bts has one of the best dance line in Kpop. Jimin and Jungkok could easily be the best dancer if put in any other group.
Edit: I think I worded this badly and it came out as if Jimin isn’t that good of a dancer, but I think he is a phenomenal dancer. I was just stating my opinion that when I first got into bts a lot of people were hyping him up in the comments (there’s nothing wrong with that, like u all said he can make people feel emotions when he dances) and as for Jhope I barely saw people hyping his dance up, so naturally I didn’t take notice of his dance much.
Jhope and Jimin are both fantastic dancers, but I just think that in terms of technique Jhope is better.
I’m sorry for wording this comment badly, but the fact still remains that bts definitely has one of the strongest dance line in Kpop.

He is one of the best idols of kpop when it comes to dancing but yet he doesn't have a lot of center time when dancing. I was honestly heartbroken when ON fancam was released , we could see him standing in side stage for nearly 1:30 MIN . LIKE he is the main dancer how could he not have center time in dancing. He should at least own a dance break. And not to mention how his FANCAM gets the least amount of views when his dancing is overflowing with charisma. I am so sad that he is overlooked. I've watched many J-Hope fancams and I don't think I've seen the man put a foot out of place or been off in timing. The way most K-pop performances are shot (jarring cutaways, close-up shots etc.) really doesn't do justice to his dancing. His musicality is very strong, his isolation is unparalleled and the level of precision he displays and intricacy he puts into the choreography (eg. the expressiveness in his hands) is astonishing. His movements are all connected and flow through his entire body. This video was more technique-focused, but J-Hope embodies the rare combination of technical ability, emotional expression and connection with the audience. Besides, he has a completely developed style (street dance) separate from the urban group choreography, and we don't get to see it much except for in his Hope on the Street videos. The fact that he continues to practise his freestyle garners respect from me. In addition to being an 'idol', he is a hip-hop artist.

there can be lots of reasons why a lot may had un-stan bts though and anyone has a specific reason for sure. (not relating this to the op) but Just my general personal opinions on why people may leave the fandoms from what I've seen mostly are; 1) the huge changes in BTS' music style. lots of people find the situation tricky (as if it's not 'trying' new style but bighit purposely has changed their root style slowly to mainstream and sweat pop, to gain young fans and thing that teenage likes most and gaining more money in the cost of forgetting the root ! old fans of each group have prejudice on this anyway and not having hiphop come back more than 3years (the best of bts) proves it even more! a lot believe the badass bts is gone and bts has lost the 'wow' impact. popularity is leading not quality!). 2)bighit's last 3 years extreme favoritism toward maknaeline of BTS (Jk,JM,V). though, however the situation is, it seems like this anyway: giving almost of everything to maknaeline in distributions (there are reasons rapline/hyungline fans are mostly soo mad at bighit esp Jin and Jhope ones.) and this is happening continuously! like, no matter how much you love an idol, waiting too much and seeing mistreatment without any hope of changing it, will makes you so frustrated as hell !! 3) toxic part of this fandom! it's honestly getting out of control! (the average maturity of this fandom is getting so low, due to - not all but most of very young and new fans - some fans gets no criticisms, not liking all songs are a bad thing in their view even and I've seen myself they attack old fans and other fans alot ! the fandom itself gets so unbearable. 4) maknaeline solo stans. thanks to bighit that makes some members underappreciated as hell, these solo stans dare alot to insult members, wherever you go there are these kids making god of their bias, act like other don't exist at all ! "maknaeline have more view cuz are more talented, best" and etc and these bs are alot everywhere. bighit and the feeding these toxic toxic part of fandom can be the main reason why people unstan bts (in my opinion of course ! people may have a different view than me). and alot may don't unstan .. still stream, support and etc (only bcuz of boys) but have lost their excitement and passion alot. not enthusiastic about the next releases anymore! cuz it's obvious who are gonna get the most spotlights, most attentions, and their fans makes them the center of everything again.
though it's just my opinion, but make sense at lots of aspects.

If you are an actual Jimin stan and not just one out of convenience for your comment then don't subscribe to this nonesense. Its disrespectful to Jimin. I am so tired of people saying that Jimin isnt a real dancer because Jhope is considered the best dancer. Why does giving Jhope recognition have to be at Jimin's expense? I thought other Jimin stans were the only ones who didnt do this but apparently not... You might think this is overreacting but this deeply upsets many Jimin stans who have fought to get him recognised. You only saw the Jimin that got lots of praise and attention but when I joined the fandom that wasnt the case. Any time he was praised for his skill (which was rare) another ARMY would comment to reinforce him as 2nd place. People only wanted to acknowledge him for being cute or sexy but not talented If Jimin's own stans insist on this way of thinking then he will continue to never think he is good enough because he will never be a dancer in the fandom's eyes like Jhope is or a vocalist like Jungkook is.

Honestly I don't think anyone would mind when you say that there is noticeable margin between him and the rest of the dance line. If we think about Jimin he came from a contemporary background and such dancers have more difficulty and limitations while trying out other styles. Winwin from wayv also has similar problem due to his classical dance background. But ofc in years he became much better. Jungkook obviously was more novice compared to them and jhope's experience is unmatched. Tae was added to the dance line more for how he expresses himself. I think most of us know and are well aware of that and that's why we have so much of respect for him. 😊
Edit: IDK why everyone is taking this comment more related to Jimin when I had mentioned the whole dance line. But I still apologize if I offended anyone. This video and comment was simply a small analysis for how the members had different experience in dancing which has also led to their current dancing skills. I'm not disregarding Jimin's dancing skills (since I'm not even close to his level). I just was trying to have a peaceful discussion.

Jimin did start out with popping and locking though, but he seems to have more passion when he dances lyrical and contemporary IMO. Jimin started dancing in middle school that is pretty late and he wasn’t a trainee for that long either. Compare that to idols like Taemin, Kai and Hobi who started dancing at a much younger age it would be just incredible if he could match their technique. I think what people are drawn to is his 10/10 facials(IMO) and the emotions he conveys which makes you ignore smaller mistakes and weaknesses.

Anyway, Jimin is a versatile dancer that who can do both styles (no one can top him on contemporary dance within the group) and I am happy that he receives love but there times his fans are just too much. I remember that I just stated something in the comment section, and I got hated and yes I shouldn't compare those two but the other comments was just...not about dancing at all...there are some comments that are very subjective for the topic. J-Hope's dance abilities are definitely overlooked by some in the fandom (I'm a total ARMY). Contemporary is perceived as more sophisticated and therefore of higher quality than hiphop. But for me, no other member draws my eye as much as J-Hope. Getting the proper "feel" for street dance styles is no joke, everyone doesn't manage it no matter how technically skilled they are. J-Hope lives in those moves, he's never out of pocket, you never catch him thinking about the next step. He dances as naturally as he walks. I really can't say enough about him.

@@myhopebibi5984 J-Hope's dancing skills aren't praised by the fandom nearly as much as Jungkook's and Jimin's skills are. J-Hope is rarely included in opinion videos when fans bring up best k-pop dancers. He also isn't highlighted by BigHit that much. I realize the center is usually the person that is singing/rapping at the time, I get it. But even in M/Vs when you can deviate from that, J-Hope isn't often the one we get close-ups or dance solos from. Not a single other BTS member matches J-Hope's swag in any street style dance. Not Jimin, not Jungkook, not Tae. Street dances aren't usually complex looking but it takes style and attitude to make them look cool and exciting; like Chicken Noodle Soup and Just Dance. Nothing that intricate going on in those choreos but J-Hope's flare makes them fun. His moves are precise, clean, sharp when they need to be and fluid when they need to be. His facial expressions indicate that he's dancing FOR the audience and not just infront of them. He gets a lot of praise for his stage presence but not nearly as much for his dance skills. I believe it's partly because hiphop dance isn't viewed as skillful the way contemporary is. He doesn't have the story of being "trained" in dance like Jimin and Jungkook, or that he "proved himself" like Tae. Fans also don't often bring up how the other members admit to feeding off J-Hope during performances, how they look for his approval when they dance, how he sets the tone for practice and showtime with his professionalism, that his strict attention to detail is why they look so good on stage. He's just crazy good and makes it look so effortless.

Thank you for a much-needed evaluation of J-hope's dance skills and expertise. J-hope is an extraordinary performer who is able to master any dance genre and perform it flawlessly. His melding of all qualities essential in dance - rhythm, placement, transitions, line, extension, turnout, height, musicality - is what makes him so powerful and mesmerizing. That he marries his dance mastery consistently with on-point vocals, jaw-dropping visuals, and screen-and stage-eating charisma confirms that J-hope is a once-in-a-lifetime artist. I honestly can’t recall seeing someone who is able to command and captivate an audience like he can. The pure joy he expresses in dance, his emotional connection to and expressiveness of his movement, and his generosity as a performer confirm that he is a stage artist at the height of his craft.
There is an oft-repeated and inaccurate narrative that J-hope excels only in a sharp, percussive street style. The clips in this video and nervous fan cams of slower BTS songs (Black Swan, For You, Spring Day, Let Go, Just One Day) prove that he is capable of lusciously fluid, beautifully nuanced and emotionally wrought movement, with extraordinary attention to phrasing arcs and emotional beats in the music and choreography. J-hope doesn't just memorize steps or play seductive to the camera - he tells a complete story with his movement and takes the audience on a journey. This is what dance is meant to do and there are few doing this as well these days as Jung Hoseok.

His immaculate precision, transitions and the way he executes each and every step leaves me bewitched.

The fact that he is so underappreciated makes me mad. Not only in his dancing, his rap,his songwriting, producing skills is rarely mentioned in kpop compilation videos. Jhope was born to be on the stage. For me he is the epitome of a perfect pop star. The most well rounded idol. Thank you so much for this video :)

When it comes to the hyung line, I think we can all agree that their individual honed abilities are quite underrated. But it’s videos like these that make me happy to see Hoseok appreciated. BTS are the definition of versatility and every single member should be appreciated individually and together.

      jin = the underrated vocalist
      suga = 8-13 second rapper
jhope = a main dancer with little center time
rm = the leader who got less lines after their hip-hop era ended
maknae line = top 4 to 1 in line and center distribution

you are completely correct, he’s is majorly overlooked, for someone who’s been doing this all his life, he doesn’t get enough appreciation. he’s one of kpop’s most talented in terms of dancing, and everyone will hate me for this, but since some are so close minded and have their mind on one, and one only, they’ll never get to see how great he is. hoseok deserves all this. everything
