Hobi joined BTS before Tae, when the group was meant to be a rap group. The formation of BTS evolved as BH took on vocalists. Hobi has always sung as well as rapped on BTS tracks, when suitable. Tae was solely contracted because of his remarkable baritone voice - and is acknowledge as having the strongest voice, with the largest range in the group - so was never going to be a rapper. To begin with Tae really didn't get the chance to show his voice off properly, but as BTS developed RM and Yoongi wrote songs which specifically gave Tae the chance to use his voice. Hobi has said it was RM and Yoongi who encouraged him to experiment with his rap - and thank goodness they did, he has an exceptional lyrical rap style.😍

Such a beautiful baritone he has. His rapping tone is slightly nasal and his singing voice (when he really sings) is so deep and soothing. Even more so than Taehyung's. He needs to know that we love it when he sings, actually sings. Most of this video - though well put together - is a lot of him rapping. Singing - for any of the rappers - is rare. Hobi joined BTS before Tae, when the group was meant to be a rap group. The formation of BTS evolved as BH took on vocalists. Hobi has always sung as well as rapped on BTS tracks, when suitable. Tae was solely contracted because of his remarkable baritone voice - and is acknowledge as having the strongest voice, with the largest range in the group - so was never going to be a rapper. To begin with Tae really didn't get the chance to show his voice off properly, but as BTS developed RM and Yoongi wrote songs which specifically gave Tae the chance to use his voice. Hobi has said it was RM and Yoongi who encouraged him to experiment with his rap - and thank goodness they did, he has an exceptional lyrical rap style.😍
