Making cold plates is a days work for sure, you two make it look so easy,I make mine just like you do,I do my beets in the blender,no juice needed.happy cooking
What a meal! I've made cold plates before but with maybe potato and mac salads. I like a good bit of mustard in my potato salad. Shame people think cooking is "too much work". Once you get some skills it's easy to throw a meal together. More fun if you have someone to cook with, you two are fun to watch.
Nice Cold Plates !! 10/10 STARS : ) GREAT JOB !!! Yes, a lot of Work but will make So Many people HAPPPY ! & Yes, Hubby & I Agree w/ ... ''LONG-LIVE' the 'NO SPACES on the Plate' ; ) lol, tfs
The friendly banter between you two and the eye rolls was awesome , and the cold plates got me up looking on the refrigerator for something to eat even though I only ate an hour ago, it all looked absolutely delicious.....as usual. Have a great weekend guys.
Well, where do I start.lol. This video was so enjoyable. I can’t believe how comfortable your mom is now in front of the camera. She is hilarious and, your face when she was picking at ya. My husband was watching your video with me. He said I can’t understand them. I had to repeat everything you were both saying. lol . Beautiful food, and bless you for sharing with family and friends. You made my day. Blessings ❤
I have family in Newfoundland. My grandmother and grandfather are from there. He was a fisherman named John Tobin. She was Agnes Murphy Tobin. Also other last names. She lived to be 101 almost 2!! He had a tough life. Hard work fishing. Moved to Massachusetts. Had 2 kids there and 4 more in US.
My grandparent were from Nfld and moved with their sons to Weymouth MA. My mom and us kids all born in Weymouth. Grandfather was a fisherman as were most of our neighbors.
Another wonderful video of you and your mother creating some great food and great memories. I want to ad my opinion though if possible on the current generation of family dynamics. My wife was an at home mom so did a lot of the traditional meals spending many hours working as your mom does. My daughter however works outside the home like so many others as a single income family is virtually a thing of the past these days with the cost of everything. This of course has changed the dynamics where there’s no traditional roles such as cooking, cleaning and house chores. Men now partake in these roles as you do. I think women would love to have time to prepare wonderful meals like these but just simply don’t have the time or energy as they are drained from daily life and of course kids today are involved with so many activities. I love your videos and watching your mom and dad participate. You have a wonderful cheeky relationship where you permit us to have a look inside. Keep up the great job and tell your mom we just love her :o))
Sugar is fine. Christmas is the time to over enduldge. Besides when you have the bitterness of the root vegetables, it kind of helps balance everything out. Cold plates with a good beer, and good friends, were always my favorite part of a Glace Bay Christmas. We don't do it all the way you do it, no. You Newfies love your Salt Beef, where we usually just use ham instead. But near enough for sure. This was a good video. Glad it popped up in my for you.
wow that looks so good. Never had that beet one but sure going to try to make. Great to have one of those if the frig when coming home from work when your to tired to cook lol.
If I was with your mother in the kitchen... I would totally be intimidated by her skills .. lol.... thank you for all your work and sharing it like you do your wonderful food............
I love your videos. We miss Newfoundland so much. We're from Ontario but have visited NL three times now. Your beautiful topography, wonderful giving people, and food keep us coming back. Now, that said, about the sugar....
The cold plates look delicious! I think I'll try making some of the salads, love how they are mashed and scooped. The best meal I had in Newfoundland was a bowl of soup. We stopped at the restaurant at Frontier Cottages where I had a vegetable soup with some kind of meat, the broth was so good. Whoever made that really knew what they were doing! This was in 2018, I think it's under new ownership now so maybe someone different is cooking these days.
They definitely need to cut out sugar in the salads and stuffing. There's no need for the sugar. My coldplates are always tasty I use spices and never sugar in my salads and stuffing. Mom you can try and keep bad language out of video
Seeing the food making is fun, but hearing the banter between you is the real gem. Your mom’s deadpan delivery of, “Twenty??” Priceless. What a feast!
I must say, your Mom is the best….we would get along perfectly!😂😂
One of my favourite meals…… your mom is the best. The cold plate looked delicious

MORE SUGAR! LOL - is your mom still negotiating her take away percentage from the videos?
My wife won't cut the pecks out of the potatoes either. That's what I get for marrying a non-Irish girl.
