Just converted my own van and if I can make a suggestion that you box in your gas bottle and seal it with the facility of a drop air vent to mitigate risk and also allow ventilation to the battery system. Well, Day One and this makes it 3 of your videos, one after the other. I like the van a lot, especially the "directional" aspect to the solar panels. I have a new caravan bought last year so I am not in the market for a camper van or a motorhome just yet, but your video gives food for thought. Next year we hope not to live full-time in our van but to camp in our caravan for 100+ nights. I was impressed. And you are clearly VERY enthusiastic about it all. CONGRATULATIONS! I hope you both enjoy the freedom it will give you in the years to come.
Love the “house” tour! It looks very homey. It’s funny that desserts never leave you guys with the donuts you have. To save on water, you can add an aerator so the water coming out is a mist when you are washing your hands or dishes. To save time and money on laundry, a merino wool shirt can save you on laundry. I can bring three shirts on a trip without needing to wash it as it is anti microbial so it stays clean. The only thing missing in your van is a pet! Can’t wait to see your European adventures! Elton is very British. Love it!

WOW! I honestly dont think there is a more perfect van layout ever. And that includes ours 😂 The features James included are incredible, what an amazing space that must be to live in!
I love the van. One of the best conversions I have seen. There are so many good things that I love. Especially the fridge. Looks great and works without the inverter. Having the second battery will be worthwhile when winter comes. I also like that it doesn't have a bathroom. That would spoil the open spacious appearance. (Some conversions just look so crowded). I reckon the manual gearbox is probably a good idea too. Although I like autos, the manual will be more economical and probably more reliable over time. Looking forward to Wales.
you wont be showering outside in the winter, if you get stuck use an garden spray bottle. you can pump it for pressure and also fill it up and leave it next to your diesal heater all day to have a warm water. get a big enough buck and a pop up shower curtain and youll be nearly good to go, you guys can make it work.
@@2Passports1Dream Do inspect the wirings connections for loose contacts and corrosion periodically as they are subjected to a lot vibrations from driving and moisture. Loose connections can cause arcing and potential fires.

Kudos for the hard work but a good, functional campervan starts with a comfy bed and a bathroom. You have a short bed, no bathroom and a toilet in the dining room!?! That makes it just a kitchen-dinner on wheels for short weekend trips, but the finishing is stunning.
A short bed for short people, we fit perfectly and it's seriously one of the best beds we've slept in! Actually the dining table is in the bathroom - just how we like it ;)
You should be able to find several choices in portable showers. You have enough room in the van to store a small tent to use as a spare room or guest room while camping.
In order to ensure more electrical power, a two-phase power generator can be used instead of the electric dynamo inside the car engine (200 Amp instead of 70 Amp).
👋Hi Elton! Gray is grey. When you think about it, it's good to keep it that way (at least for now) rather than spray painting it with a pretty colour. you don't want to attract too much attention especially when you'll be living there. if it's cute & colourful outside, it'll be an Instagam spot with many passers-by.

The bumpouts for the bed area make a big difference from what i have seen in a lot of videos. I hope you have a great time traveling !

Looks great. I keep thinking some sort of screen for the main cabin door that can roll up so you can have the door open when parked and still get a breeze (with no bugs) might be nice. Love the videos. Found you with your Laos videos as I was gearing up for my trip there this past Feb/March. Was a big help knowing what to expect.
I don't think I've seen such a nice interior that looks so homely. I'm a newbie with a T6 LWB, (born in Essex with Welsh parents and living in Scotland since I was 12), so a Heinz 57. Getting some great ideas from your tour. Can see why you live full time in Elton. From the full on Utilities to the small things like a magnet held kettle, superb. That is such a well thought out and built camper van with so many little details. The pop out lockable door handles are just amazing. Incidentally there is a couple in the south of France who have a Citroen Ami with the same name as your van.

2:30 Do make sure the engine timing belt and associated parts (assuming your VW has one - most VW diesels have one except one specific type which has a timing chain which are much better and much more forgiving) has been changed recently...If this belt snaps (due to age or mileage) your engine will be instantly destroyed..

Great video and lovely van for you both. Have you weighed it with all your stuff inside? As it is an XLB it can ve very difficult to keep to 3500kgs. If it is over you should really up plate it and get C1 category on your license. Not to put a damper on things but would not want to see you get caught by VOSA and them find you over weight

You have a great van home there, but please get your gas system checked out by a certified gas engineer, that gas bottle should be in a sealed box with a gas drop out in case of any leaks, and it should have copper gas pipeline running from the box to the appliance.
Hello lovely people. Just a pointer. That gas bottle should be in a gas locker with a drop out vent and the pipe from the locker to the cooker should be copper. There are plenty of videos on youtube to have a look at. Safety safety safety. There is no second chance with gas

Great video and lovely van for you both. Have you weighed it with all your stuff inside? As it is an XLB it can ve very difficult to keep to 3500kgs. If it is over you should really up plate it and get C1 category on your license. Not to put a damper on things but would not want to see you get caught by VOSA and them find you over weight

You have a great van home there, but please get your gas system checked out by a certified gas engineer, that gas bottle should be in a sealed box with a gas drop out in case of any leaks, and it should have copper gas pipeline running from the box to the appliance.

Hello lovely people. Just a pointer. That gas bottle should be in a gas locker with a drop out vent and the pipe from the locker to the cooker should be copper. There are plenty of videos on youtube to have a look at. Safety safety safety. There is no second chance with gas
