I was in Vail Colorado skiing. One night we had live music and the group hired Bo Diddley. He was left the stage and was playing and singing and walking in the crowd. I told him I loved his music; then he said “dance with me”. There I was dancing with Bo Diddley while he play his guitar and sang. One of my greatest memories!!!

Funny story. I was born in 68. I listened to all my parents albums and singles as a child. In second grade (75?) We had story time where we broke up in groups of five to listen to a audio story. A record player on the table and 5 headphones to listen to the story. I took the audio story off and put this single on and told my friends "you gotta hear this." The look of horror from the other kids as we weren't doing what we were supposed to do. We got busted and I had to confess that it was my record. I have always hoped that we got busted because of my head bobbing or that I cranked the volume up. The teacher give me the record back afterwords. I look back with pride.

Thank you to all who have enjoyed this channel. The creator of this channel/video's, my father had unexpectedly passed in January 2022. I will be keeping his channel active for all to enjoy including myself. My father enjoyed & loved making these videos for all to enjoy. It brought great joy to him to see all that visited and loved his channel, song selection & video's. Music was a passion that he had and loved along with being a DJ since the early 70's.
Wish you all the best!! Thank You and hope you all continue to enjoy!

On this day in 1965 {August 18th} Bo Diddley performed "Road Runner" on the ABC-TV program 'Shindig!'...
Five years earlier on February 29th, 1960 it entered Billboard's Hot Top 100 chart; eventually it would peak at #75 and spent 6 weeks on the Top 100...
It reached #20 on Billboard's R&B Hot Singles chart...
One month later on September 25th, 1965 the Gants covered version entered the Top 100, it peaked at #46...
    R.I.P. Mr. Diddley {1928 - 2008} & Jimmy O'Neil {Shindig's host, 1940 -2013}...

    [Verse]
    I'm a road runner, honey
    Beep, beep
    Beep, beep
    Ah, beep, beep
    I'm a road runner honey
And you can't keep up with me
    I'm a road runner honey
And you can't keep up with me
    Come on, let's race
    Baby baby, you will see
    Here I come
    Beep, beep
Move over, honey, let me by
Move over, baby, let this man by
I'm going to show you, baby
    Look out your head
Going to put some dirt in your eye
    Here I go
Oh, yeah, how am I doing?
    Beep, beep
    Take my hand, baby
    I'm going toprove to you
That I'm a road running man
I want to show you something
That I'm the fastest in the land
    Now, let me by
    Beep, beep
Oh, yeah, you said you's fast
But it don't look like you going to last
Goodbye, I've got to put you down
    I'll see you someday
    Baby, somewhere hanging around

This was the very first song Keith Moon played when he auditioned for The Who in 63 or 64, where he was reported to have trashed the drums that were there for the gig. There is a great and very aggressive version of them doing the song at the Youngs Vic in London in 1971, as the prepped for the recording of Who's Next.

The Grandmaster at his best here; my favorite Diddley tune. Even the b-side, "My Story", is great - tells of Bo's tongue-in-cheek rise to fame. He could do so much with that guitar. "Road Runner" was redone later in the mid-60's by the Gants. RIP Bo.

When I was a kid growning up in Rochester, NY, I would pass by a ton of garages filled with maniac teenagers whackin' on drums, twangin' on guitars, and screamin' at mikes trying to get this here song right as a secret weapon for the next neighborhood battle of the bands. Hey, everybody can "Louie, Louie" but how many grownups can you drive nuts with THIS righteous noise?

A lullaby(or bullaby) is a song we remember from cradle to grave...meant to pass on cultural knowledge memetically.
Mariposa in spanish is butterfly/moth(mother?) in french moth is myth and moth balls are boula-mythes(b.s. stories;)
Also, worth knowing...since Andrew mentioned dinosaur names to me recently...
In the Badlands of Alberta(where I grew up), they found a skeleton of creature called
    Anzu wyliei.
A non-avian dinosaur ranging in size(from 'turkey' to 1.5 tonnes). From the family of ancients called oviraptorosaur, recognized for their pronounced CREST. (i see bovine and toro in this word)
    A land bird-bull-lizard?
Even as a child, having only seen the bones of this monster, I knew this dino's feathers would've been red.
    Like a Phoenix.
you can't keep up with Anzu...he's the fastest in the land...
Wile E. Coyote knew it...Bo Diddley knew it...
