For the life of me How can you sit still to this classic rock tune!!??Thats Bo Diddley rockin not less then three fit away!! man oh man wish i could've been there!!
That guitar sounds industrial. Its like Bo found a prototype in the 50s and was told its not the finished article and can't be used. Now let me see about that said Bo !!
Fun to see this! And the different reactions from the audience. Many didn’t realize they were seeing a true master. When I saw him about ten years after this, my mouth was wide open the whole concert.
If you think about it Bo Diddley invented the Bo Diddley beat then named the song after himself. As one of the founding fathers of rock n roll he developed quite a business model. Other artists picked up on the Bo Diddley beat. Personally George Thorogood is my personal favorite with his Bad To The Bone song.
Maybe 83 ,seaside boardwalk , nj , bo playing for 12 people in thunderstorm , says we getting shocked , how bout I buy who ever wants a drink over at that bar , anyone else remember ? Fun times
The drumming is key to this song. Always amazed me to see clips with a white drummer doing a standard rock rhythm rather than the essential style here. Bo sure got a lot of mileage out of one song.
Straight beat was Bo's own preference. I've read interviews of some musicians that played on later tours and they talk about how Bo always told them to play straight. "I'll do that rhythm, that is my job". Dont know reason, maybe it was that those hired musicians did not just had that sense of rhythm and Bo chose to keep it simple and easy, or maybe Bo wanted to update his sound to harder, straighter and more modern rock. Maybe both
What do you mean one song? This dude is a f****** legend and one of the greatest rock and roll jazz blues. You name it musicians of all time. This guy is inspired so many genres and so many different artists of all races and backgrounds. It's unreal
Designed by Bo in 1959. He called it the Jupiter Thunderbird. There were only two made (one for Bo and one for his rhythm guitarist, Peggy Jones, and if you look around on RUclips you can find footage of them both playing them). In later years Bo gave one of them to Billy Gibbons, of ZZ Top. BG eventually got Gretsch to start making them for sale, now renamed the Billy-Bo. I've got one and it's a really comfortable, lovely guitar to play.
The white kids wanna dance so bad I saw bo diddly n he can get anyone up n dancing his band is always great but Mr Diddly gets down like no other love him always
Just gotta say it I noticed a whole lot of these videos of black musicians back in the day performing in front of white audiences and their sitting there like when are the Byrds coming on… no disrespect to the Byrds but WTF
There are a lot of "cool" guys, but there is only one Diddley Cool.
Geeeeez, the Guitar sounnds like 10 harmonnicas and an alto sax...and a Guitar too, crazy.
I love how Garfunkel guy is the only one that gets it. We want the Monkees! 😇

Saw BO three times, even have a guitar pick he gave me, a true father of Rock n Roll.
Often Imitated, Never Duplicated !
Frame that Guitar pic!
Bo Diddley is what Rock & Roll is all about.
Godfather of rock music
The drummer is amazing
At his best, Bo was always boss and masterfully in charge, bringing home the bacon to a hungry public…
Too me he is my king 👑 of rock and roll the great bo diddley
I love this. The dancer brought some spunk to it too.
She nailed it. The tambourine provides rhythm you typically expect to hear on a snare. Nice vibe
what a great time to be alive,
Everyone back in that era could perform without all the computer & electronic equipment today and most killed it
yes please. He's still amazing

Love bo diddly absolutely a legend
The absolute king!
goose bumps head to toe
I've never seen a bad version of this song EVER! by Bo .. nails it every time .. this guy and Chuck Berry totally got the guitar thing goin on . TUNE!
The opening reminds me of "Centerfold" by J Geils Band from the 80's
Now here i hear the rock and i hear the roll. Genius!!
love the Rat Fink sticker on his axe
Maybe 83 ,seaside boardwalk , nj , bo playing for 12 people in thunderstorm , says we getting shocked , how bout I buy who ever wants a drink over at that bar , anyone else remember ? Fun times
That's when he could play 1970
Grande mestre !!
Primeiro br que eu vejo em algo do bo didley
Então eu sou o 2°
Who's the dancer in the red dress? I like the shimmy and shuffle!
None better go Bo go.
Heard him in the late late 50's

Neat guitar 🎸 👌

@@BackToTheBlues "TEAR IT UP" - Billy Gibbons
Nice to do 4 sets of the same song !!!
In the army we ran in formation hollering this in cadence.....
Same here. Back in 1975.
1981,same thing,we lived off of Bo Diddley,bo Diddley, where yo been, down to the Gin house drinking gin ,hey bo Diddley!
that guy in the white pants is no slouch, either
Отличная вещь!
Saw ZZ Top's Billy Gibbons playing a similar guitar. 🎸
❤❤❤❤
as Jerry Lee Lewis put it : "just stand in one place and wiggle around a little bit"
Whole lotta shakin' goin' on! 😁
It was some dissing in there to you see his hop at the end like
Is that a rat fink sticker on bo's guitar??
Simple no fancy moves just talanet
Ok mamma the mj moves
The song he is singing is “Bo Diddley”, not “Hey, Bo Diddley”. They are different songs.
Yeah, they screwed that up.
Strange jump cut at 1:38. Wonder what that was all about.
I wonder if Bo ever received the pay he deserved. A lot of black musicians at the time got screwd,.
Eric Burdon from the animals they recorded Bo's songs and Bo said "tell that white SOB to keep recording my music"
this is an Army double time cadence
I remember. In 1975 for me.
Now play Hand Jive and see what you think.
MONDAY 10/21/24 ENJOY,,,,,
The white kids wanna dance so bad I saw bo diddly n he can get anyone up n dancing his band is always great but Mr Diddly gets down like no other love him always
Is that Cookie V dancing in the middle? It kinda looks like her but terrible camera work!
1:39
The root of that American thing come from Congo
her hair is about 5-6 years out of date
Only Jimmy Hendrix's National Anthem at Woodstock comes close. .
Just gotta say it I noticed a whole lot of these videos of black musicians back in the day performing in front of white audiences and their sitting there like when are the Byrds coming on… no disrespect to the Byrds but WTF
Bo at his best but some of the zombies in the audience just didn't get the groove. Why would you go to a BD concert if you are tone deaf?
Man, he really milked that song.
LMMFAOOOOOO
Disinterested audience
Only lick he knows.
Only lick he needs.
Yo mama knew how to lick though 😂 Only cost ten dollars too
Only one he ever needed. What's your lick?
Is there anything Pootie Tang cant do??
