- ‘자체제작’ 타이틀로 가요계에서 꾸준히 성장세를 보이고 있는 세븐틴이 이번엔 정규 3집 [An Ode]로 더욱 성숙하고 깊이 있는 앨범으로 돌아왔다.
세븐틴의 정규 3집 [An Ode]는 'Ode(시)'를 통해 화자가 메시지를 은유적으로 표현하듯 세븐틴 또한 그들이 전하고 싶은 메시지를 다양한 방식으로 녹여내 특별한 의미를 전달, 많은 이야기를 담아냈다.
특히 누구나 한번쯤 느낄 수 있는 '두려움'을 세븐틴은 창작하는 과정을 통해 느끼는 감정 중 하나로 마주해 이에 대해 스스로 내면 깊숙이 통찰, 고뇌에 빠진 세븐틴을 한 단계 더 성장하게 했다.
또한 세븐틴의 대표 수식어인 ‘자체제작돌’에 걸맞게 이번 정규 3집 [An Ode]에서도 멤버들이 음악 작업에 참여해 진정성을 더하며 세븐틴만의 감성으로 한층 더 성숙해진 완성형 음악을 선사할 예정이다.
SEVENTEEN returns with their 3rd full length album, [An Ode], proving their growth and maturity as “self-producing” artists.
As a writer metaphorically expresses his/her message through an “ode,” SEVENTEEN also seeks to share their messages and stories to listeners through this album.
“Fear” is an emotion many people encounter at least once in their lifetime. SEVENTEEN explores fear as an emotion they face during their creative process. As the members search within for insight, the agony they endure help them develop one step further as artists.
As expected from “self-producing idols,” the members participated in producing the album, adding on to the authenticity of their music. Through [An Ode], SEVENTEEN plans to present their distinct emotions in a more sophisticated manner.

Recently: Minghao released a new solo song 那幕 (Falling Down); Junhui made a cover of 失落沙洲 (Down in Sandbar)! Past Chinese TV show appearances include CYZJ/The Collaboration (Minghao+Jun), QCYN/Idol Producer Season 2 (Minghao, as a dance mentor!), and Happy Camp (Minghao solo). I know that Minghao has been on 天天向上 a couple times but I can’t find full videos for it, sorry.
Also, skin color doesn’t matter here. Tan or pale, Seventeen are handsome and their skin color has nothing to do with that fact. Mingyu gets insecure about being tan, so please love and encourage him. You all probably know that Vernon is mixed-race: he grew up in Korea and considers himself Korean, so please respect that!
Toxic behavior: we don’t put down or insult other members to praise our faves. We don’t put down or insult other groups to praise Seventeen. We don’t put down or insult other fandoms to praise ourselves! If you see other Carats doing any of those things, please politely ask them to stop. Never argue or be rude: if you get frustrated, leave the conversation and calm down.

DISCLAIMER: This is *my personal opinion*
Seventeen will start to be nominated this week, and I’m sure we want them to obtain as many wins as possible. Also, we all know that Home won 10 times last time, and we all aspire to break that record. But I think it’s important that we keep in mind that there were no relevant groups promoting at that time, so to say, we didn’t have much of a rival. On the contrary, Twice will be having a comeback tomorrow, which means we will have an opponent for the second week, and a very very strong one as well, as they have awesome digitals and our album sales will not be as great as the first week. Considering this, I’d just like to state that we may not be able to accomplish the same achievements as last time. Don’t get me wrong, *WE MUST STILL TRY OUR VERY BEST*, but the thing is that even if we try our best and the results aren’t as good as what we expect, please don’t underrate any of us carats’ hard work, please don’t call other carats lazy, please don’t bash other groups just because we’re salty we didn’t get wins, please don’t feel too disappointed and demotivated and feel like our efforts were a waste. Give it our all, but if it ends up happening, accept it with an open mind and turn it into motivation for us to work even harder the next time. I know we don’t have an infinite supply of “next times”, but it’s the positive mindset that counts, and it’s the determination and willpower that helps us improve every single comeback. I find that it is immensely important that we don’t be easily discouraged and are able to look at things positively and passionately if we’re to make the long journey. Let’s climb to the top step by step steadily. Fighting carats!!!

I'm speechless and no words could comprehend how shocked and awe struck I am right now. The aesthetic, the dance and their visuals killed me 🫠 I just found out here on comment section that woozi thought they released this song early and I kind of understood what he meant. I just read a beautiful comment about someone wishing well for the health for SVT, especially Woozi, as he is the producer of the group. And that got me thinking, SVT is known for their choreo, how long do they actually practise for it? The answer was simply found in a meme video, where Minghao spoiled HIT choreography almost a year back before its release. Just imagine, practicing new choreo for a comeback so far ahead, practising countless countless choreo of the past, preparing special stages, actually crafting the choreo themselves, the amount they spend on this is insane. Everyone praises SVT for being talented and amazing at dancing, but the sheer hardwork they put behind it is so very overlooked, it bothers me. 1 year and possibly more for a comeback. The heck would you see a group like this? And when Hoshi said that Jeonghan would practise more because he had to keep up with them; I just imagine the members who truly weren't that gifted in the field of dance, but put the hardwork and effort to overcome that obstacle. Many groups just leave it to the main dancers to uphold the group's reputation, but SVT works for perfection. They are truly an amazing group.
Edit 09/12/2020 - Definitely the HIT thing was wrong as pointed by a lovely and friendly and beautiful Carat below lol, but it doesn't undermine anything. They are perfect in all their old choreography and new ones, without slacking off anywhere or losing motivation. Seungkwan has a ankle injury yet he danced his part, and he has had this injury for a long time (since HIT) and you all saw in HTR how his legs were bandaged and even got surgery, Wonwoo refusing to yield his performance even after he hyperventilated, he was determined to perform and then collapse, you all can see how much they all truly work, being at the top, they have accumulated so many wounds physically and mentally, yet they go strong and never compromise. Stan SEVENTEEN!

I think svt has shown they usually practice for long periods of time like more than 10 hours per day (?) I'm not sure but you can see it on 17 Project and OBS 24 Hours Idol I think during their debut era.
They also constantly changes their choreo until they find a perfect one. During Aju Nice, you can see the ending choreo on their comeback performance on Showchamp is different than the rest because they were still choosing on which choreo fits the best. Same goes for the first chorus of Thanks. You'll see the different choreo in the MV compared to the final one.
Other than that, I think their relationship with one another also contributes on how fast they learn a choreo even if the choreo is hard or fast. You can see some Inside Seventeen videos where the members taught one another on how a move is supposed to be executed. The amount of trust they put on one another also makes them in harmony with one another. Just with how they work with each other, you can see that their relationship is not fake.
p.s I don't know abt that comment of Minghao spoiling HIT a year before because the song might not even be made yet 😂 but Minghao might have a say on the choreo so they put his idea onto the dance!
You're right. SEVENTEEN is always practicing their past choreographies and therefore, they can dance whenever. But the most incredible of them is the time they dedicate to elaborate their new performances, how careful and polished their work is and that they never settle for anything less than excellence. That is why I follow them, because I value discipline and persistence too much and they are the living example of whether perfection can be achieved. None of the members is a "black hole" neither dancing nor singing, everyone can do anything, and all they need is time to do it. They are my example and every day I try to resemble SEVENTEEN a little.

Aeiara thank you for writing this! Just want to share my thoughts as well. People see svt and think wow they’re amazing dancers,they have 13 main dancers, etc. but truth is like you said the members don’t have the same levels in dancing. But to be able to perform the way they do, dancing as one, not one person outshining or overdancing takes a lot of practice. They have a lot of members which means they need to be conscious and mindful of each other’s movements. The space, the angles, which move needs power, and which needs more gentleness, they take into account every single detail that’s why they produce the best results comeback after comeback. I still haven’t seen anyone perform like them tbh. The consistency is unreal and to think they’re one of the kpop groups who have the most members.. this is team work and professionalism at its finest.

Many people think it's a meme, and just dont care about it. But caffeine is carcinogenic, (something that might induce cancer) and when I read your comment, I just imagined the long nights he must have spent to uphold the reputation of SVT as a self producing group.
