For my family size of 3 with occasional family gatherings, Class III and a side gas powered Blackstone Griddle has been working perfectly. Regardless size, you cannot go wrong with Kamado Joe grill. One my best purchases I've ever made for life. I purchased Weber grills many years back, and after the Kamado Joe with the side Blackstone griddle, I had to dispose all Weber grills. The flavor and the charcoal heat source is amazingly easy to control once you get used to it. So much fun, and it's so efficient. After use, we always throw sweet potatoes and potatoes to the charcoal and closed the air, and we have the treat using the exhausting charcoal heats to avoid the heat waste. ;-)

I've been researching this for the last 3 days! My order is in for the Classic but been debating on if I should go Big. This will help. Amazing timing on the video, Thanks!
I will say that feeding a Big Joe for cooks that aren't smoker temps is a legitimate first world problem :D But seriously, I had to decide between a Big Joe 2 and a Classic 3 over a year ago and I don't regret buying the extra real estate, and seriously anybody who spends 1700$ on a grill and then complains about burning 5$ more charcoal needs to turn in their man card
Great video, thanks!! Oh, also, can't wait to see more about the new grill / video station. Also love to hear more about how you prep food when you bring it home (ie. i think I remember hearing you say in one video that you dry brine chickens when bringing them home, and seal them up in a vacuum seal for later. Love to learn more about that.
I have the classic ll and have been very pleased, but always wished it were larger. Recently came across a sale on a BJ lll for $1869!! Pounced on it and wouldn’t look back
I had a bunch of guests for Independence Day weekend and tried to cook 15# of chicken wings on my Vision kamado which is the same size as BGE L and Joe Classic…almost had wings falling off and it took way too long. I had several hangry guests by the time dinner was served. This convinced me that the Big Joe or BGE XL was needed and I’ll keep the Vision for smaller cooks. I’m selling my 22 year old offset smoker which has been great, but Big Joe 3 arrives next week so time to move on.
congrats on your new Joe... the sloroller gives you the entire grill space which makes either model seem larger. when i had a large BGE it too was 18" just like the classic but the plate setter was 15" so managing the hot spots reduced the useable grill space to about the same as a medium egg. one thing i noticed on KJ is how much more i could fit on the same dimensions
Great comparison review. I’m upgrading from medium BGE I have had for 8 years and honestly is just too small. Although the kids have all moved out, I do like cooking more than less meat when I go to the effort. I think the 4” extra for Big Joe 3 is not necessary for me, and I would not cook sides on it. However not having the slow roller seems like a disadvantage on the Classic Joe. (Understand you can add it for $250.). I also have a Traegar 1300 Timberline at the other house and love the convenience, even though everyone prefers the true smoke flavor from the BGE. I saw your review of the Konnect Joe and was thinking maybe this was a good compromise. My concerns on that choice is the lack of slow roller and also smaller size. (It’s still not clear to me what size the Konnect Joe most compares to in the non electronic Kamado Joes.). I know you have them all, and it’s always hard to say, but if you were going to pick one, and money is NOT the driver, what would you pick for someone like us? Always appreciate your input.
James, I want to thank you for all the information you have been giving out to all of us. You got me leaning to buying a big joe 3. I wasn’t even thinking about going that way. Your videos are very informative. I have a question about Smoak firewood. Do you think Klin dried BBQ firewood loses some of the smoke flavor. Compared to natural wood
Thanks Larry, happy to help.... the big joe is my favourite, if I could only have one thats the one for me. It is less smokey but thats not a bad thing, the wood if at all wet is not good smoke so while its less smokey id say this is what you want. Either naturally seasoned or kiln dried is what i use
Thanks James. I got my joe jr. and it’s indeed as you said, the weekday workhorse and amazing sear station. Now I’m saving for a bigger KJ and I think I will go for big joe. Btw here in the Netherlands KJ is 2199euro while big joe being 2899, both series 3. So the price difference is smaller than in the US that makes it even more worthy to get a big joe!
Double check on the shelves for the Classic 2s. I just got one via Costco (in the states) and my Meater box's magnets grab onto the metal of the side shelf quite well...
there is metal inside but they might have changed from plastic which is great. The website still says that the side shelves are plastic - www.kamadojoe.com/collections/grills/products/classic-ii
I found a relatively local bbq supply shop whose website had Kamado Joe Big Joe III arriving in stock this week and shipping by next week. I pulled the trigger and now have some buyers anxiety(not really remorse). I really hope I don't regret spending the extra for the big joe. We are a family of 4. I like to entertain in non-covid times. On my weber performer kettle, I end up wishing I had more space, but that is mostly because to do indirect I only had half the space. I went with the big joe to have the same amount of space.
@@SmokingDadBBQ I’ve been having anxiety about the decision. Unfortunately I got a call from the shop that there was a shipping issue on their end and it won’t be available for 2-3 weeks. Still less than some retailers but I’d start justifying the purchase once it assembled at my house.
Great video! Thanks so much!!! The plan is to entertain but sometimes will be a small group of 2 or just a fast searing, will the big be too much? Or i can do for small cook too? Thanks
Hi SDB. I have a large green egg. I crafted a very nice table with a granite top. Would like to move to Komado Joe Classic III but wondering if the size is the same to fit in my cutout hole. Thanks love your videos
I am really happy with the suggestion you gave me to buy the BJ 3. I have it for over a month now and could not be more happy. I only have some issues with overbite of the lid, but that is being attended to. Also really looking forward to know your plans and learnings for the outdoor cooking space. We get ours in September so hopefully I can use your learnings in finalizing the plans.
Excellent video...Great info too! I’ve been agonizing over which one to get and have never seen a side by side plus vs minuses done so well. Only problem is the big Joe is out of stock right now. Hopefully it won’t be soon and I’m going big Joe for sure! Thanks again
Great comparison, unfortunately I bought a classic 3 which I love and cooks great. But after seeing this video I'm wanting that increased cooking space! :)
I think you just explained why I have such a difficult time keeping a stable temp on my kamado komodo. It is very well insulated. At 700 I can put my hand on the top and it only feels warm to the touch
yes this is true of the broil king keg, blaze and even the summit to some extent which are more efficient at the cost of smoke taste / rings compared to the series 3
Of those two, the Big Joe is the proper choice. The two negatives I'd give it are: 1. If you're just throwing on like 2 burgers or something you're going to feel really silly considering how much space you're wasting 2. Its price is ridiculous... but I would say this about KJ in general. My 22" kamado (which includes the Slow N Sear Platinum bundle of the Slow N Sear, EasySpin grate, and Drip N Griddle pan, which sells separately for like $280 or something) plus all the Kickash accessories for it - including the Kickash Divider I've never even used - costed me the same as an 18" Classic III, and the Big Joe is about $700 more than that. When you get to the price tier that the Big Joe III sits at, you may as well consider real premium options like the Komodo Kamado lineup.
@@MrMarnold6 SnS Deluxe Kamado, a 22" kamado designed around the Slow N Sear developed for the Weber kettle (so basically any accessory that works in a 22" Weber kettle will work in it as well).
1) James, what are your thoughts on using a chimney starter in place of a grill torch to get your coals up up temperature quickly? Do you think there is a danger of cracking your fire box if you dump the hot coals from the chimney directly into the basket? 2) You hinted at it, but if you don't have to buy a pit controller for the BJ3, the difference in price between it and the CJ3 becomes less punishing.
Hmm, one thing I did not take into consideration was getting it through the garden gate (I won't fit)!! I'm going to have to take the lid off to get it in my garden and into my shack. Disclaimer alert, these things are very, very (stupidly) heavy....... I have the Big Joe II and it is a MONSTER!!
Thank you for your help!! I am now sure I will go for the big joe 3. Bye the way I am a big fan from your channel ! Greetings from Belgium and keep up the good work🙂🙂🙂
Great video! I waffled between the big joe v classic for a few years and ultimately pulled the trigger on a big joe II once it went on sale. Really glad I have the extra space and I am usually cooking for ~4 people.... glad I don’t have to play Tetris to make all my meats fit!
Go Big everytime. Only two adults in our family and never regretted going for the big Joe. I can make it 'smaller if I want to but I can't make it bigger (already have an expander even for the Big Joe)
Go big or go home! The larger half-moon cooking surfaces are a major advantage. Often I do 2-zone cooking and the Big Joe provides plenty of surface area for each zone.
Ugh! Still can't decide between the two. Right now I have a 55cm Weber. The Classic Joe is 45cm, The Big Joe is 61cm. The price difference is €800 so yeah... I'm using it mostly for chicken, ribs, steaks + some vegetables, and smoking 1.5kg salmon side. Also planning to use it for pulled pork etc. Household of 2 adults + 1 child, having sometimes people over in the weekends. Cheers from The Netherlands!
you can fit a large brisket (17lbs) on the classic with some creativity (drape it over wood chunks for example) and the raised grid accessory adds a lot of useable space. I prefer the big joe as it makes full meal cooking much easier but for 3 people the classic i think could manage just fine
@@SmokingDadBBQ thanks for replying! I'll probably end up with the Big Joe. I know myself too well. When I purchase something I want "the best", or I don't purchase at all. Also, I think it's better when a BBQ is too large rather than too small
@@SmokingDadBBQ Final question! I have a Big Joe in my shopping basket, about to press the Checkout button... Do you need to fill up the entire basket when cooking? You mentioned putting in a little (Joe Junior basket) bit for the test...
I’m really torn on adding a second classic vs a big joe. I already have a lot of accessories for the classic. I usually don’t find that I need extra room with the exception of a few things I cook that would be simpler to just throw on a big joe.
I have been waiting for this video comparison. But after watching I am still uncertain which size to get. I love grilling for my family but usually do not grill for more than just my family (5 people). I have been leaning towards the classic but your recommendation for BJ makes me worried I will regret it. Thanks so much for the excellent content!
I have a big family of 6 and often invite extended family, in-laws, and/or friends over for a cookout. Would you recommend a Big Joe 3 or a classic 3 accompanied by a Joe Jr? I’m even considering a big Joe with a Jr.
Great video!!! A few months ago I chose the Classic three for all the reasons you stated and couldn't be happier!!! There is a slight learning curve from other smokers but In never have a cook where we don't have fun!! Question....Slo Roller vs Heat deflectors....do you think there is a difference in bringing up the temp and maintaining it between the two? I seem to have more of a challenge using the deflectors than the slo roller but I have never had a bad cook...unless I messed something up!!!
Looking to get a Kamado Joe so I can do burgers and steaks on charcoal with a good sear. I already own a Recteq 700 with the side smoke box. Most smoking will be done on the recteq. Would you recommend the classic or big joe in this situation. 80% of cooking is for 2-4 people with the exception of holidays like Mother’s Day and 4th of July.

Thanks for this video and all of them you have done in the past. All of your info has helped with my kamado growth. I have the classic I for under a year and love it. The model III looks amazing. Planning on to put in an outdoor kitchen but wondering the diameter of the Big Joe base. I reached out to Kamado Joe and didn’t hear back.
Great information ... It sounded like you indirectly mentioned one other con of the Big Joe 3 ... The space and real estate it would require! For some that won't be an issue, but for someone who perhaps has a small deck for example, the size differences between the two might be a consideration. I did like the idea about the Joe Jr for sides. Perhaps the Classic 3 maybe a great addition if they already own a Joe Jr inside of jumping up to the Big Joe 3?
it is really handy having the two (classic and jr), thats nice since it adds portability to the mix. if i could only have one and thats it though, it would be the big joe
Given that a Brisket has to rest for hours after you take it off, the fact that you can't fit anything else on at the same time on the classic isn't much of a drawback. You can easily put more on afterwards. Also, when you want to cook multiple things you often want multiple temps (sometimes even with one thing). That's why I'm a Classic + Jr. fan. I admittedly haven't had a big joe or equivalent but when I'm entertaining, my pair of grills has always seemed more than enough and it's cheaper.
James, awesome video as usual! Quick question, one thing you didn't mention was the weight of the BJ3 vs the Classic3. I tend to move my current BGE XL around to different areas of the yard depending on weather and it is tedious. I have looked up the weight differences between the two and it's not insignificant. Would love some more feedback on how easily the BJ3 can moved around and its' mobility in general.
Hi Dave.....I am considering a KJ Classic III rover the Big Joe III.....Price is the big issue....My question, we cook a lot of whole turkeys during holidays and I am wondering if a KJ Classic III would accommodate a 15-17 lbs whole turkey.....or should I have to go to the Big Joe III....thanks for any help or suggestion....there is just me and my wife, but holidays are a big thing for us
I am loving these comparison videos. I have a suggestion for another one. Can you compare the airflow of Joe Jr vs. classic and big Joe (without the Slo Roller). I at times I cook small boston butts and brisket-flats and these meats can fit both my Joe Jr. and classic. My gut feeling is even if I cook them at the same temperature, classic will probably have a better airflow compared to Jr, hence, the flavors will be better. But that is just my guess. Who knows, I might be completely wrong and Joe Jr. might have better airflow. With Joe Jr. prices going down a little bit in the last few months, I feel a lot of people have gotten a Jr. recently. So this video might be a useful one for many smokers.
What’s the maximum number if people you would cook for on the Classic 3. My use would be a slow cooked brisket then using it for chicken/kebabs/burgers/hot dogs after
Wow. That’s definitely more than enough for me. Just the cost in the UK is quite a bit. I think the classic 3 is the smart buy and perhaps a small gas BBQ for quick cook items. Thank you for taking the time to reply to this. Just discovered your channel last week and I’ve been watching your videos daily on my lunch hour. Take care James
Hey there, Great informational review, love your sincere and rational approach to each model . Question, what is the interior diameter of the classic and big Joe? the Big Joe's big price , is it partially due to the extra accessories that come "With" the smoker or are there just more available "after purchase " accessories. THANKS.
for me (my personal taste) big joe 3, best Kamado style grill i have ever used .... i used to have two classic 3's as the idea was to share the same accessories (which is true) but the big joe gets my vote
Thank you a lot from Belgium for all the informations... May i ask you 1 question ? how long do both kamado take to be at a good temperature if you heat them in a ''normal'' way? Stéphane
I don't see any email listed for you, so here it is. I purchase the classic 3 and will take possession this upcoming weekend. What would you recommend for a first time KJ user? Something simple but good. I really want to impress my wife.
I’ve been watching a lot of your videos and just now subbed... man I thought I was subbed already. I have a icon pro I got for free but an looking to upgrade because my fire box is cracked and this grill was rusted out when I got it so efficiency is terrible. You have me sold on the joes I love the set up. I can’t imagine what I could do if I had a grill that was worth a darn.
Great Comparison. I curious what is your favorite size packer Brisket to cook in general. Currently I have a 22" kettle. I came close to getting weber summit charcoal grilling station. But not having rotisserie was a turn off and I wanted to hold off for kamato big Joe, when big Joe 3 came out I was waiting for Costco to get them, I think they only dump the 2 series.
Just look for a local dealer using the KJ website. It’s the same price usually and you’re helping a local business. My local dealer threw in some charcoal and when I paid for delivery (a very reasonable price given the distance and size of the BJ3) they set it up so I could smoke right away.
Your due diligence is incredible! I don’t know where you get all the time, unless this is your full-time gig? Thanks for all of your great information it saves us a bunch of time!
it’s like riding a bike with bigger wheels it’s at speed more stable. the classic is darn stable too, I wouldn’t say it’s not easy to use, the big Joe is just that much more stable a fan controller is not needed
Which one would you suggest I should buy I really like the Weber summit 18501001 cause the Kamado big joe lll over time starts to show spider crack on the outside over time but I really like the big joe lll as well. The Weber summit $ 1999 and the big joe is 2400 the five hundred isn’t a deal breaker for me. I like them both but I just cannot decide between the both
hey Shawn, it’s a great grill too. I find the summit is more charcoal efficient which I actually don’t like as it means the fire isn’t burning as clean. the smoke taste and smoke ring is night and day between the two. glazing in Kamado paint of all brands is normal. doesn’t hurt anything
@@SmokingDadBBQ ok thanks for the information. I was looking at the big joe ll as well I see I can purchase the slow roller for the grill as well. I really don’t see much difference in the Kamado lll and ll except the frame it sits in.

Will do! yes I mostly dry brine everything and then freeze it vac sealed
I have the classic ll and have been very pleased, but always wished it were larger. Recently came across a sale on a BJ lll for $1869!! Pounced on it and wouldn’t look back
Where did you find the sale?

Can't wait for my Big Joe to arrive in about a month!! I'm also anxious to see your outdoor kitchen plans, as that's on my bucket list as well.
Congrats, can't wait share more
Great video. I have had the KJ classic 2 for several years and I have been thinking about making the jump to the Big Joe 3.
its my favourite, if i could only have 1 that would be it
Thank you Im so exited ...My wife if getting me the Big Joe III 🥰
congrats
Love your videos thanks for the content, quick Q what gloves do you use?
Thanks James. I got my joe jr. and it’s indeed as you said, the weekday workhorse and amazing sear station. Now I’m saving for a bigger KJ and I think I will go for big joe. Btw here in the Netherlands KJ is 2199euro while big joe being 2899, both series 3. So the price difference is smaller than in the US that makes it even more worthy to get a big joe!
what a great combo the jr and big is
Double check on the shelves for the Classic 2s.
I went with the big joe to have the same amount of space.
congrats... you made the right choice. thats my favourite
@@SmokingDadBBQ I’ve been having anxiety about the decision. Unfortunately I got a call from the shop that there was a shipping issue on their end and it won’t be available for 2-3 weeks. Still less than some retailers but I’d start justifying the purchase once it assembled at my house.
@@kevinrutledge9602 ruclips.net/video/qH0wxZlpoQ8/видео.html will make you feel better lol
thanks for this great review! this will definitely help choosing between different Kamado!
Glad it was helpful!
Check out a retractable awning. Getting one myself. Helps for the rainy cooks!
good call
Great to hear! perfect timing. mine should be done in a month
Excellent video...Great info too! I’ve been agonizing over which one to get and have never seen a side by side plus vs minuses done so well. Only problem is the big Joe is out of stock right now. Hopefully it won’t be soon and I’m going big Joe for sure! Thanks again
Glad it was helpful! Apparently everyone has the same idea and they are hard to find as a result.
I plan to bake bread in a Kamado. A natural and not in a a cast iron vessel. Have you ever done that and if so which one is right Classic or Big Joe?
Of those two, the Big Joe is the proper choice. The two negatives I'd give it are:
1. If you're just throwing on like 2 burgers or something you're going to feel really silly considering how much space you're wasting
2. When you get to the price tier that the Big Joe III sits at, you may as well consider real premium options like the Komodo Kamado lineup.
it does look silly with two burgers
Which 22" kamado do you have?
I use a chimney in the summer. just not the dead of winter when the ceramics are ice cold
BTW - Nice you getting a new grill area, I built my shack in 2020 lockdown and love it, cooked in the snow, rain, wind etc and I have full cover :-)
if you have spar hands, you can pac man it around a corner with the dome open
Thank you for your help!! I am now sure I will go for the big joe 3. Bye the way I am a big fan from your channel ! Greetings from Belgium and keep up the good work🙂🙂🙂
Awesome! Thank you! greetings
How high off the ground is the Big Joe? I'm 5'1 and that's my main concern.
Love the video! Such a hard decision, if the price difference wasn't so radical it would be easier to jump for the big joe
its definitely cause for some heartburn at first.. but after your first low and slow it starts to drift away
Great video! I waffled between the big joe v classic for a few years and ultimately pulled the trigger on a big joe II once it went on sale. Really glad I have the extra space and I am usually cooking for ~4 people.... glad I don’t have to play Tetris to make all my meats fit!
Thanks for sharing! 100% agree
Tetris lol
Go Big everytime. Only two adults in our family and never regretted going for the big Joe. I can make it 'smaller if I want to but I can't make it bigger (already have an expander even for the Big Joe)
well said. 100% agree
Go big or go home! The larger half-moon cooking surfaces are a major advantage. Often I do 2-zone cooking and the Big Joe provides plenty of surface area for each zone.
well said
@@Mark-pi7vj no. It will run on much less. A full basket will go about 56 hours
I’m really torn on adding a second classic vs a big joe. I already have a lot of accessories for the classic. I usually don’t find that I need extra room with the exception of a few things I cook that would be simpler to just throw on a big joe.
I had that setup at one point (two classics). it is so nice have the same accessories for each. there is nothing I couldn’t pull off with that setup
Thank you very much for making this video. Very useful
Glad it was helpful!
Thanks for watching!
I have a big family of 6 and often invite extended family, in-laws, and/or friends over for a cookout. Would you recommend a Big Joe 3 or a classic 3 accompanied by a Joe Jr? I’m even considering a big Joe with a Jr.
Love my BigJoe2 for the exact reasons you mention. Having said that, I am considering adding a Joe Jr. :)
its nice for travel and short mid week cooks .. a big and the jr is the perfect 2 grill combo
Also, really looking forward to the new grill area as I’m planning one myself soon!!
You and me both!
Great info, it differently threw me off when you weren’t in the regular studio!
haha for a short while
Looking to get a Kamado Joe so I can do burgers and steaks on charcoal with a good sear. I already own a Recteq 700 with the side smoke box. Most smoking will be done on the recteq. Would you recommend the classic or big joe in this situation. 80% of cooking is for 2-4 people with the exception of holidays like Mother’s Day and 4th of July.
you can fit a large brisket (17lbs) on the classic with some creativity (drape it over wood chunks for example) and the raised grid accessory adds a lot of useable space. I prefer the big joe as it makes full meal cooking much easier but for 3-4 people the classic i think could manage just fine
I am doing a 29” space in my cut out. if you search table plans you can find the diameter if doing a circular cut out
Great video as always! I’ve also been debating between the two... looks like the big Joe will win out!
Good choice!
Great review. Thanks for your honest pros and cons and hope to get some more help now I’m subscribed
Thanks for the sub!
I wonder how many of these KJ has sold because of you!!! I will be getting one soon!
wish I got a cut lol 😂
Love the content and the info. Helps someone in the market for a kamado grill!
Glad to help
Sadly, the grill extender doesnt fit when used in conjunction with the slo roller on the Classic 2.
no thats a series 3 thing where it is 4" taller and does work with the sloroller
Given that a Brisket has to rest for hours after you take it off, the fact that you can't fit anything else on at the same time on the classic isn't much of a drawback. You can easily put more on afterwards. Also, when you want to cook multiple things you often want multiple temps (sometimes even with one thing). That's why I'm a Classic + Jr. fan. I admittedly haven't had a big joe or equivalent but when I'm entertaining, my pair of grills has always seemed more than enough and it's cheaper.
with brisket you can. with ribs and pulled pork the rest time is a little short
James, awesome video as usual! Quick question, one thing you didn't mention was the weight of the BJ3 vs the Classic3. I tend to move my current BGE XL around to different areas of the yard depending on weather and it is tedious. I have looked up the weight differences between the two and it's not insignificant. Would love some more feedback on how easily the BJ3 can moved around and its' mobility in general.
the cart rolls well, i have no problem moving it around on my own... if you need to lift it thats a different story as its something like 450lbs
With Joe Jr. prices going down a little bit in the last few months, I feel a lot of people have gotten a Jr. recently. So this video might be a useful one for many smokers.
good suggestion
Price is up over $1000 on the big joe 3 since you made the video. Crazy
Yikes
What’s the maximum number if people you would cook for on the Classic 3.
My use would be a slow cooked brisket then using it for chicken/kebabs/burgers/hot dogs after
that 17lbs brisket in the classic was good for a dozen or more. it can also take enough pork butts to feed into the 20’s
@@paulanderson24 cheers Paul
Hey there, Great informational review, love your sincere and rational approach to each model
. Question,
what is the interior diameter of the classic and big Joe?
the Big Joe's big price , is it partially due to the extra accessories that come "With" the smoker or are there just more available "after purchase " accessories.
THANKS.
If you had the choice between having a classic 1 and a classic 3, or just the big joe 3. Which way would you go.
for me (my personal taste) big joe 3, best Kamado style grill i have ever used .... i used to have two classic 3's as the idea was to share the same accessories (which is true) but the big joe gets my vote
Thank you a lot from Belgium for all the informations... May i ask you 1 question ? how long do both kamado take to be at a good temperature if you heat them in a ''normal'' way? Stéphane
What’s the main difference between the big joe 2 and 3?
metal side shelves, charcoal basket, 4" taller design which allows for the 3 tier divide and conquer rack vs. 2 and the sloroller
@@SmokingDadBBQ awesome thanks so much… I want to get the big joe 3 but it’s back ordered everywhere!!!!!
I don't see any email listed for you, so here it is. I purchase the classic 3 and will take possession this upcoming weekend. What would you recommend for a first time KJ user? Something simple but good. I really want to impress my wife.
can’t go wrong with chicken or steak
I’ve been watching a lot of your videos and just now subbed... man I thought I was subbed already. I have a icon pro I got for free but an looking to upgrade because my fire box is cracked and this grill was rusted out when I got it so efficiency is terrible. You have me sold on the joes I love the set up. I can’t imagine what I could do if I had a grill that was worth a darn.
thanks Joshua
Between a classic 3/Classic 2 and Big joe 2 for a small family who on some occansion cook for 6-7 people?
the classic would likely be plenty. the 3 is better at low and slow than the 2. for me I would get. the big 2 but I often get carried away lol
Go big or go home. Can never have too much grill space :) Look forward to seeing the new space!
You and me both!
My local dealer threw in some charcoal and when I paid for delivery (a very reasonable price given the distance and size of the BJ3) they set it up so I could smoke right away.
yes exactly.
Your due diligence is incredible! I don’t know where you get all the time, unless this is your full-time gig? Thanks for all of your great information it saves us a bunch of time!
thanks, glad it feels that way but no i have usually only a few hours on either saturday or sunday to turn these things out
Great videos, thank you! So are you saying that the classic is not as stable or predictable? Just seems as this is implied...thanks for your time!
it’s like riding a bike with bigger wheels it’s at speed more stable. the classic is darn stable too, I wouldn’t say it’s not easy to use, the big Joe is just that much more stable a fan controller is not needed
I like them both but I just cannot decide between the both
EDIT: sorry I confused the Summit charcoal model with the gas model. Apologies!
hey Shawn, it’s a great grill too.
