Great job ..your videos are a great help. I have this vehicle and I’m about to change all four. Plus the upper and lower control arms. Do you have a preference when it comes to hubs or does it not matter.

      @@AllAboutCarzz also my
Car sways back and forth left to right I checked upper and lower control arms. Bearings are a little play in the rear. On both so I’m going to replace all four. I’ll start there and see what comes of it.

A very well illustrated video. Keep making them on the XTS. Finding good videos on this car is difficult. It’s great how you make the tool sizes needed very clear. What model DeWalt impact driver are you using? I can’t seem to find one that will break tight bolts loose. Any particular reason you don’t torque the bolts down?

Hello, thank you 😊 We have lots of videos on this car on this channel. I am not a mechanic so I haven’t bought a torque wrench 🔧 yet, just trying to help people to these things at home but please torque it down at GM specs, peace.

I just did the front hub bearing on my 2014 CTS-V wagon. Very similar to this but no front axle going through the hub. Also my hub bearing did NOT come out that easy. I used a Lisle hub puller, tried the sliding hub puller first, did absolutely nothing. I live in the salt belt, but my V has never seen snow or salt. Didn’t matter the hub was still fused to the spindle with a lot of corrosion.

Oh ok great. Those axle sometimes have to be heated to release the nut, but this one was easy. Thanks

You replaced your factory Brembo’s, is there a reason for that? I need to find a hobby shop. I can do a lot of this work myself. Is your impact battery driver 18 V?

First things first. Don’t put the trans axle nut on until the hub bearing bolts are all on & torqued to 66 ft. lbs. with red locktite. Second, the caliper bolts are actually stretch bolts & should be replaced however, if you use red locktite you can reuse them & torque then down to 66 ft. lbs. as well. Lastly, hub bearings do not come out with just a few light taps unless, fairly new…plan on spending a good 25-35 minutes removing each of them…use pb blaster or wd-40 to aide in their removal. The shield is definitely going to be in the way on the one side…I recommend a hammer & pry bar to help remove them by working your way around the entire flange while also, using the hammer from time to time hitting the bearing on the outside lip. It’s a pain but, they will eventually come out!
