well, I personally found the game to be underwhelming. It had iffy physics, inconsistent lightsaber combat, no dismemberment, even on robot, and a bunch of set animations for stuff that could have been adaptive. It was a walking and flailing simulator, nothing more.
Technically both The Force Unleashed (great game) and The Clone Wars: Lightsaber Duels (great show, please watch it) both allowed you to control a lightsaber with the wiimote.
Yeah, but the best lightsaber game was Chambara on Wii Sports Resort. It Was Awesome!
Chewbacca Master Force Unleashed 2 did that. You had to press a button to block, but swing the remote and numbchuck for force push and to swing the lightsaber

Episode 3 vs battle was fun...but i agree in the end Academy seemed more fluent vs blatant button combinations...despite Academy is just mashing the 2nd mouse button and movements lol...but i love it. "How do I know this isnt another Twick?!"

Actually I loved the Kinect Star Wars lightsaber battles, they were fantastic, you had to bounce and swing arms and break things because you don't have a big living room...

Imagine if there was a VR Jedi Academy. That would be truly legendary...
*Yeah, SW are great, but have anyone ever thought of Harry Potter VR duel club?* Carefully waving the magic wand and throwing spells to multiplayer enemies is actually cool... plus this kind of game is much easier to make, since, well, you don't have to move a lot during the duel. It's more about gesturing. All that creators have to do is add a lot of cunning spells, develop combos, limit possibilities with mana meter, and let reaction skills of real humans do the rest. I tell ya, that would've been sensational.
*P.S.* And microphone impact would not hurt, btw.

One, I'm a huge Harry Potter fan, but you can't lie and ignore the fact that it would be hard, because if anything, that would take so much coding to detect the hand gestures, positions, how to react, and finally, producing. The space required for the sensors to sense the wand and how it was moved is incredibly large, and probably at least 5 sensors to detect the entire position of the hand and not confuse it with other gestures and combinations.
Two, lightsaber dueling would *literally.* *Be.* *_Awesome._* With the skill involved needed to duel and parry and stab and to slash all the while avoiding your enemy's saber would be something to treasure. And yes, I _cannot_ deny the fact that Harry Potter dueling would be entirely it's own amazing thing, and that a twist on gaming like that would forever change the industry. I just think SW lightsaber dueling is a big potential too.

*THE REAL REASON*
You cant control a lightsaber or a sword with motion controller because there is no force feedback. Sure you can track the movement of the hand precisely and turn iit into saber in vr world but all you can do with it is cutting boxes where boxes dont push back the saber but if you try to go further from cutting boxes for example blocking an incoming saber attack, controls would suck because when you try to block the attack with controller there is nothing to stop your hand from going through the incoming saber, causing the location of your hand and its vr implementation to differentiate. So you cant make a saber game where there are obstacles to constrain the saber movement untill you figure out the force feedback problem.
they figured out the force feedback problem 10 years ago with wii sports resort.

What did they do to obtain force feedback than 10 years ago? Because at this point I am pretty sure that you don't know what force feedback is

I know what force feedback is. and they solved the problem by eliminating the need for it. anytime you were hit or got blocked your character would flail around, giving your opponent an opening to strike. the sword would then track the motion of your next strike and automatically move the characters arm to match the players arm. so it didn't matter that the players arm didn't match up exactly with the character arm, because it was only temporary. after the window, the character would reset to wherever the players arm was.
Yeahhhhh no. "I'm Han solo" is the best. It was surprisingly fun

The biggest enemy of an awsome Star Wars lightsaber game: Motion Sickness. A great part of a Jedi's skillset in battle comes from running and jumping around like crazy, something that cannot be archieved with the current VR technology

FYI: There is Vader Immortal ...its a $10 game that will entertain you for 5 min. atleast until they release more episode. they are doing $10 an episode kinda thing. its got some promise. its on VR

Actually, there is a way to have a proper "lightsaber" game. It's called wii sports swordplay! You can duel others, and the monstrous Matt, and you can even go on a killing/wacking spree in showdown! So Davis isn't technically wrong with the wii.
We did technically get a Star Wars game tales from the galaxies edge which was just a big advertisement for galaxies edge but it does include light saber including blasters

Wii sports resort had an okay sword fighting system. It was kinda like vader immoral but also kinda like wii boxing. Also beat saber gives me nightmares, i see the cubes screaming when i close my eyes.

I mean I thought the Star Wars Kinect game was the perfect lightsaber game. With the Xbox you got like a scan thing (forgot was it was called) that would scan you, so if you raised your hand it would do it in the game. Besides you could use the force there were awesome lightsaber battles and much more (Man I feel like a sellout). Just here to say that was a great lightsaber game :)

Jedi Academy isn't AR, but I wouldn't be suprised if there was a mod for it. Jedi Academy was GOAT though. Best lightsaber combat in a game. Go play.

Yup, it is Movie Battles 2, a mod for Jedi Academy, compatibile with steam version. Class-based teams, with each class/faction being unique and delivered with skillpoint distrubute (different builds for each class) and a lot of skins. And all for FREE! (except Jedi Academy cost)
it's not like beat saber is secret jedi training but more like a stepping stone to a great star war saber game and it's a great game with great music so enjoy beating that saber
