- Our encore number chosen for its originality and the sense of continuity it brings out in people and because its still a good thing to keep questioning and asking why. In honor of the great Pete Seeger and how he showed the world the power of song - we tend to finish off our concerts like this. Hope you enjoy. Thanks to Middelfart Lokal TV for shooting this great video material
This is the most moving rendition of this song I’ve heard, and I grew up in the US in the 60’s. Thank you. 😢, and ❤️
It’s great how about Peter Paul & Mary?
Thank you so much:)
@@ericlevi5729 And the Kingston Trio ? Of course !
This song was deeply emotional as part of my history listening to Pete Seeger as well as Peter, Paul and Mary sing. This message is still unfortunately poignant and we all are singing with you brilliant young musicians. Thank you for your beautiful heart felt sharing.
Brilliant version. Why can't we all live in peace?
My girlfriend turned me on to this song a great rendition, I've seen the Kingston Trio several times, my girlfriend had to leave the US for cancer treatment a year ago, she's in Belfast Northern Ireland fighting a uphill battle, I miss my Irish Rose 😥😥🇮🇪🇮🇪
Thank you for your comment. We send our warmest thoughts to you and your girlfrend
My thoughts are with you both.
BEING "AMERICAN IRISH" MAKES THIS SONG EVEN MORE SPECIAL FOR ME...TY☘️
We certainly need this more than ever now🙏
While we still sing this song Pete lives on and the futility continues!
in this day and age we are still asking "when will they ever learn?"
Cant believe I've just discovered this group. The best EVER version I have ever heard.
Same here , what a great voice on singer. My icon is something grandson added. But love this version.

This version is so fabulous and powerful with a touch of sadness. This song written by PETE SEAGER and sung by MARLENA DIETRICH, Peter Paul and Mary , Bob Dylan....and many others does tug at the heart ❤️
Thank you. It is a bit of a sad song. Sadly
It is based on an old Cossack folk song and this is a beautiful rendition.
👍👍👍
Beautiful rendition of an all time classic, music doesn't get any better than this.
Beautiful song and a beautiful voice - Many thanks - Joe Malta
This rendition makes me year up every time, my girlfriend turned me on to this, she's in Belfast Northern Ireland fighting a huge battle with cancer, she left the United States a year and a half ago because treatment was less expensive, she is doing better but I miss my Irish Rose 😥😥🇮🇪🇮🇪
I grew up listening to folk music, though I didn't really understand the meaning of the lyrics of many songs until I was older. This is one of the few songs which will bring me to tears every time I hear it. It's message is just as apropos today as when it was first written. Almost Irish, this was an absolutely beautiful rendition. Thank you for using your talents in the name of peace and harmony. Maybe someday, someone can pen a new final verse the question by saying mankind now understands; we have finally learnt.
Thank you so much for this comment. It means a lot. I hope we can make that final verse one day
Thanks for this beautiful rendition, sing with a lot of emotion.
I love this version of such a wonderful song. And all such beautiful talented young men.
Brilliantly adapted to flute, really enjoyed watching the young men inherit probably one of the most influential songs in history that still plays a great part of our lives today
I am hooked
I luv this version.

Great musicians great vocalist. Pete Seeger would be proud.
Pete Seeger would be so proud he might just burst.
Thank you:)
Beautiful version. One of the most powerful songs ever. Heard when I was a kid and it informed me more than much of schooling did. Pete Seeger spoke 'truth to power'. Thanks to this band for continuing the voice, may it be truly heard one bright day.
People joinig them in the choros...beautiful.

Beautiful song folks and excellent performing. I enjoyed it so much. Seeger will be proud of yez. Btw. I used to tour a lot with mij Dutch/Irish band Amadán all over Europe and we were in Danmark and Sweden too for some 30 gigs on a row. Great times.
Excelente versión y muy buenos musicos. Enhorabuena !!!
I grew up in Greenwich Village in NYC. We had assembly on Friday mornings and Pete Seeger would teach us these songs. I still know all the words and verses to this, as well as This Land Is My Land. like most children in our neighborhood we had no idea that these grownups were famous.
That such a lovely memory you have there. Thank for sharing
que bella interpretacion de esta hermosa cancion del maestro Pete Seeger ......

We must unite to apply the wisdom of our elders. Today more than ever, let these words mean something meaningful

WOW! A great folk tune with Irish music arrangement and amazing vocalist, that's awesome!
A very precise description. Thanks:)
This is filling me up. Most beautiful version I've ever heard of a song that is just as relevant and poignant now, if not more so, than when I first heard it over 60 years ago. Thank you for posting it 🌺
Ireland, land of The Troubles, pray for the Ukraine and that peace may soon cover that nation. When will we ever learn, learn peace is the answer?

Great! So emotional!
If I didn't know before that this was an American folk song, I thought it was Irish folk songs
...Leafing through his notebook he saw the passage, "Where are the flowers, the girls have plucked them. Where are the girls, they've all taken husbands. Where are the men, they're all in the army."[6] These lines were taken from the traditional Cossack folk song "Koloda-Duda", referenced in the Mikhail Sholokhov novel And Quiet Flows the Don (1934), which Seeger had read "at least a year or two before...©
It was written by the great American folk musician: Pete Seegar.
The best known covers are by The Seekers and Peter, Paul and Mary.
Written by an American but folk song of the world. Universal in its musical and lyrical language
Super song
Fermosa versión. Very good cover.I like.
Thank you! With love from Yaroslavl, Russia!
Thank you. We would love to travel with this music in Russia one time

Hermosa interpretacion me emociona profundamente
Muchas gracias
Bravi! Iscritto. Greatings from Italy
What a beautiful, melancholic rendition….
It is fitting that one of the most beautiful versions of this song would be performed by an Irish group since the melody was borrowed from an Irish lumberjack song. It has come full circle, just like the lyrics in the song.
When will they ever learn? That’s what I want to know. FREEDOM
Awesome
