  • This is a video of a little spot we now call "Little Beach" at Elliott Key. A few friends told us about this spot but we never found it until now and it was really nice to come with our kids. Despite various trash and broken glass we found, it was a nice place. We ended up cleaning our area but strongly suggest that all others that come to this place, please pick up after yourself. Hope you guys enjoy my video and don't forget to LIKE, COMMENT and SUBSCRIBE!!!

      @@MiamiBroChannel Its super simple but like an hour from Homestead Elliot Key area. I would recommend launching out of john pennekamp or Caribbean Club which are both in key largo then its about 24-30 min ride you can go thru the bay or Atlantic. The bay side is a little bit more complicated. if you ever want to head out there let me know i can walk you thur the trip because a lot of cuts don't show on GPS

    It’s a damn shame that people can’t keep the water and beaches clean

    • @MiamiBroChannel
      @MiamiBroChannel  4 года назад +3

      FloridaOrange3 I know. It’s upsetting. My son almost got cut with glass the moment he took his water shoes off because we thought being at shore it would be safe. There was little pieces of glass in a lot of spots. I picked up all the ones I found and thru them back into the mangroves where no one would walk, but man it really bothered me. It was such a nice spot too. We went back another day (another video soon to come) with the intention of cleaning up the place more. Thanks for commenting.

      That’s because the National Park we pay for can’t be enjoyed because of mosquito infested islands like Elliot Key so people destroy the reefs with boats instead of developing the island for taxpayers to enjoy

      @MiamiBroChannel  4 года назад +1

      Hey thanks for commenting. It's literally like a quarter mile north from Elliott Key Campgrounds. So if you're facing Elliott Key Campgrounds, it's to your Left. Google Map Elliott Key Ranger Station and you'll see it. You'll see the white patchy sandy area. That's where it's at. Hope that helps and hope you're subscribed.

      @@MiamiBroChannel Still going through Congress and registry to become the latest addition to the park system. There are issue with mosquito infestation , however the University of Florida has come up with an interesting idea. There are 15 species of bats in Florida that could possibly reduce the infestation on Elliot key by introducing bat houses located throughout the island. Since bats come out only at night, guest on the island won’t interact with them .The second issue is getting certified arborist companies to manicure the mangrove up to a height of 4 feet above the waterline to allow air flow across dense foliage areas. And the biggest issue is how get enough boat slips for boater in order to allow the grass areas to regenerate and new coral growth projects to begin. Washington wants to see a “win win” in their words for the taxpayers and the ecological system to work hand in hand.
      The construction is the easiest part. The studies take time.

    • @MiamiBroChannel
      @MiamiBroChannel  2 года назад

      @@PressHBCA thanks for that explanation. It totally makes sense....I mean jus the mosquito problem there alone is a reason I wouldn't even stay there camping...now imagine staying at a resort. Yeah they would have to figure out a way to get rid of the mosquito and the noseeum which I think I probably even worst because you literally can't see them. LOL Now the mangrove issue can be resolved. I think congress and all government entities always do things when they themselves can gain something out of it. Lets see what happens.

    We used to go there in the late 60s and early 70s used to go to the arena where the park rangers were they had a glass bottom boat that the children could all get on and the Rangers would take them out and show them the marine life around the island very nice memories.

      Yes I have. However the problem are the mosquitos and the No See Ums (Biting Midges). They are in many of these nice spots. So finding the right moment to go in the year is the main issue I still haven’t figured out.

    I’ve been there a few times and had to spend at least 30 minutes picking up trash we find from other people .... that’s why it’s important to teach our kids to be respectful of nature so they don’t grow up to be pigs like the people that trash that beach ! 🙄

    • @MiamiBroChannel
      @MiamiBroChannel  3 года назад +2

      Definitely! I had me so furious off camera because I thought it was so messed up that people would actually trash a place and not pick up afterwards. There was so much glass everywhere. I’m planning on making a video specifically of me picking up all the glass in a bucket to show just how bad it is. Anyhow, thanks for commenting. I appreciate you checking out my video. how long takes you from blackpoint to elliot key?

    • @MiamiBroChannel
      @MiamiBroChannel  3 года назад +2

      It’s takes only about 20 to 30 minutes depending on the water conditions which allow me to speed up to 35 mph cruising . Remember that coming out of Blackpoint it’s a No Wake so that already takes up to 10 to 15 minutes to get out of that area. Once you’re in open water, it’s a straight shot heading East slightly South and it is a 10 to 15 minute boat ride.
