Why did Lenin and his Bolshevic followers support the teaching of non-Russian languages in the republics and among minorities?
From 23:00 minutes Ronald Suny succinctly overviews the implementation in the 1920s of what was already termed the Nationalities Policy. From 23:00 minutes Ronald Suny explains, and succinctly overviews the implementation in the 1920s of what was already termed the nationalities policy. Lenin had allocated Stalin to write that policy. Stalin wrote it in 1913 and its title was Marxism and the National Question.
Suny explains the "Decolonizing History" title of the video as reflective of the movement of him, Sheila Fitzpatrick and similar historians who from the 1960s examined and published about non-Russian minorities and republics of the Soviet Union. For example, Suny's first book, published in 1972, is titled “The Baku Commune, 1917-1918: Class and Nationality in the Russian Revolution.”
Suny's next book is being written. It is on his examination of the modern origin of the nation-state form of governance. He expects it to last for another century or more.

The trouble is, collectivisation didn't become that of a milestone, in fact... They (we) only made (and are still making) wars/revolutions/big-games matter in public, instead of people's death/life...
