Well thanks for clearing that up; I knew about the Counterfeit Exodia Cards, but couldn't find too many people talking about it. Mainly because in the Dub, the only objection to the cards is that they've been marked with special-ink, that only specific contact lenses can see. So therefore, without that special lens, being marked would be _meaningless_ to Yugi...and it shows him tearing up _three copies_ of what has to be the rarest cards on the planet. But all of this does bet the question of why the Duel Disks allow counterfeit cards to play; you would think that Kaiba's Tech would be sophisticated enough to identify when a card is not genuine and thus prevent its use. Unless - according to Kaiba's plan - he intentionally allowed the fake cards to work with the Duel Disks, in the hope of drawing the Counterfeiters out of hiding, and thus eliminate them from the tournament. I'd say that's a pretty big risk to take, considering that most of these counterfeit cards are broken win-condition moves that could easily end the duel in their favor. What was Kaiba planning on doing if they all won? Here's hoping you've got _more videos_ that explain the differences between the 4Kids Dub and the original Anime. There's one question I haven't found the answer yet; in the original anime when Mako Tsunami is separated from his father, the original anime has his father dying. But 4Kids makes the claim that although he was swept away, he survived. Mako spent years looking for him; but just when he was about to give-up hope, he receives Legendary Fisherman in the mail. And he believes his father sent him that card to encourage him to keep looking. My questions are various...For the one thing, if Mako's father is dead in the original Japanese, then who sent him the Legendary Fisherman Card? And others...If in the Dub, Mako's father is alive and sent the card himself...why would he _not try_ to reunite with his Son? Why did he spend years apart from the boy and only reach out to him with a vague Duel Monsters Card?
1. Glad I was able to help with the video! 2. Well. You could explain it with 2 things. The first thing is that Kaiba actually tried to gather the Rare Hunters to one Place in Battle City to higher his chance on getting the God Cards afrom them,. The other thing is that the Rare Hunters could just be THAT good at counterfeiting cards that the Duel Disk System acknowledges them. 3. I will most likely do more videos about those differences. And that Mako Thing could be one Video I will do soon!
@@Goldfire345 they only wagered 1 locator card IIRC, so he would only get 1 ante-card. also the rare hunters used fake cards, so he might not want their cards. then again, kaiba kept one of the masked monsters , since he sacrificed it in the four way duel, to go first... so some of them might have been legit.
Hard to tell. They could still exist and do their stuff without or with another leader. Maybe Marik and Odion worked together after Battle City to end the Rare Hunters. Could be multiple outcomes. But we sadly don't know that for a fact.

The fake cards is an interesting concept, not many in that said universe has acess to certain cards due short printed (theres only 4 blue eyes and others alike) honeslty never understood why Kaiba didnt bother to mass print like they do in real life Thats literally so unfair for must people 😅 Only Kaiba had acess to the best cards the rest had to work it what they got Imagine how that would be in real life, like only certain players would have acess to cards like Minerva(for a while it was) and other recent ones(2024 support) and the rest had to play the old way
Shame since the 4kids version actually makes Seeker and the Ghouls in general more awesome by virtue of getting all the cards. The Japanese manga just makes him and Marik more of a scrub. Who couldn't hang with the big leagues without making fake cards. Also how in the hell do the fake cards get past the duel disk scanning system?! Is Kaiba's security so bad that even a child could break it? Which it happened in the anime. Multiple times mind you. And he never improves his cyber security.
Well. The Ghouls/Rare Hunters arent about being good duelist. They just stealing, faking and selling. So I actually like the original version more, since it makes them feel more dangerous to me. And the Rare Hunters are just good at faking Cards I guess
Kaiba obtained the masked beast des gardius card as ante from Lumis after winning the tag duel. If the masked beast des gardius card is a fake card, Kaiba wouldn’t take it, which implies that not all cards used by the rare hunters are fake.
Yes. That's something I probably should have included in the video. I didn't try to say that they play with fake cards only. Joey even says that the rare hunters use both real and fake cards during the Duel between Yugi and the Exodia Rare Hunter. But that should also be kinda obvious since they rob other duelists from their real cards haha

It's a shame Yugi never took Arkana's Dark Magician and used him in any duel.
He couldn't since the cards had been trimmed. even if they weren't fake because they'd been tempered with they wouldn't be legal
