As far as I can tell the you slap one of the turret thingies on the bottom of the things that keep vehicles up right and then slap a wheel onto the turret thing, fro. There just add a fire, frost, or shock emitter.
I feel like it's the opposite. The inventions are so big brained if Link ever filed a patent and distributed these inventions, Hyrule would be a lot safer. Monster busting inventions and vehicles would make a killing both figuratively and literally.

I finally got around to finishing the game the other day, and the last thing I did before going after Ganondorf was building a war machine. It sucked. War Machines Mk.2 and Mk.3 weren't much better, and even when I put together something I was happy with, I learned that it was completely useless against gleeoks, dashing my hopes of building an anti-dragon tank, so I just used the lynel-bow-eyeball-arrow-quickdraw method to kill them instead. In practical terms, it's almost always quicker, easier, and less costly to just... fight. Maybe the best idea for autobuild I've ever seen is just strapping a bunch of bombs together. If I ever do another playthrough, I'm going to keep that idea in mind and use it on the fucking froxes.
