This video is a list of artists from Houston. The list is ordered by each year, from 1990 - 2010, and it shows each song made by the artists that helped them gain notoriety, fame, or just anytime of popularity at the time, which helped influence the Houston sound.
I know I forgot to add a lot of underground rap groups and individuals on the list.
Also I know a small amount of these artist aren't from Houston, but I still added them since they lived there, released the album/song there, or they're just repping the city (Like Pimp C for example)
*This video was Inspired by Hip Hop Universe*
7:09 the song is actually titled "What'Cha Gonna Do" but I didn't notice the mistake until I finished it.

I thought that most hated album dropped in 1995? Anyway Dope video bro 🔥
@@historysmysteriesunveiled8043 1st pressing dropped in '97
Fkn at g appreciate you fo real
mann why did this bring tears to my eyes....I love being from Texas. half these boyz went platinum without leaving Texas.
z-ro, slim thug, hawk, pimp c, lil flip, chamillionaire - my favorites from the list
Mane this video makes “streets on beats” go that much harder didn’t think that was possible!💪🏾💯🇲🇽
Funny part is the hook for Streets On Beats help me originally discover a few artists, but I didn't add a few of them to the list. Still legendary none the less
Whoever made this compilation knows real Houston rap 👌🏽
Old school raps sound better man i miss when this rap was goin on
YOU DID A GREAT JOB ON THIS!!!!
This is dope. Great job!
Much respect for this list mane. Stay Holdin
Houston Rappers are great story tellers;
Wow this is bad asssss str8 up!!!!

Dope.
Pretty decent list/video! You just missed Killa Klan, Hustlas Stackin Ends, and that first Lil Flip album.
K-rino released "rockin it" in 1986!!!
"The mic Wizard, like a blizzard i will destroy, this sucka killa, crowd thrilla Im the real mccoy"🔥🔥
@@TexasTakeover FIRE🔥 🔥 🔥
H-TOWN in da building...love my city
damn this video is great i never knew ikeman existed another houstons Chicano rapper thats not SPM or juan gotti or apart of dope house records
Ikeman, Shadow & Grimm paved the wave for Mexican Rap culture in Houston, without them there would be no SPM and with no SPM there would be no Lucky, Peso or any Mexican Rapper from HTX
@@TexasTakeover you mean MR shadow the rapper from san diego?
@@senorandrade7568 no, I mean Shadow Ramirez (aka Twinn) from Houston TX, He's Grimms twin (Grimm started the whole Mexican Rap Movement in Houston).
Shadow Ramirez is also a incredible producer/rapper, he has worked with people like Happy P, Mista Madd, Bun B, Juan Gotti, Baby Bash and a lot more
Ikeman, Sen, Villian, Bing check em out
@@TexasTakeover Grimm And The South East Latin Sector , SPM Hillwood , and released more albums then Ikeman released album in 2000’s , Ikeman was featured in SPM songs but SPM was already big

Also forgot Lil Flip, I can do that, the way we ball and Game over, Bun B Draped up remix, Paul Wall-They don't know, sitting sideways...

@@TexasTakeover Yeah, I know, but I was referring those videos in particular....
@@TexasTakeover you 4got Lil Flip !! I Can Do DaT, The Way We Ball and Game Over..you gotta fix dat homie!! 1999 Diamonds In Your Face is also missing
Devin the Dude,Street Military on of the First from Fithwsrd was Racheem one of the earliest rapper in Htown, another underated was AL D. Judge Dredd .
Memory lane
How would you describe big mello’s style?
I'm looking at Street Military with a flat screen on the wall in 1994...🤔
Wheres Down South by Mad Hatta ft Slim thug and Yungstar
There was tons of artists I didn't add, this was a bit rushed, thinking of remaking it in the future
reppin that 5th ward, love to my boys all over h-town and that d-town
free bing
That was live
Love this video. Only thing I don't like is UGK Or DMD unless they on a Houston person track being on it because they from Port Arthur.
I added Bun since he's originally from Houston, added "25 Lughters" for Fat Pat's legendary verse
@@TexasTakeover I feel you and I ain't mad at all. I understand why they on there. Being from pa it's just a pet peeve of mine. But I jammed this video from start to finish. Great job!
@@tsumello06 if you liked this list, you'd probably also like this Houston mix I made 🤘🔥

This sound like riding in my daddy slab in 96
Is sonny bobo d-gottis dark alter ego or just another nickname?
Im an aspiring Mexican rapper and I don’t know how to create a rap persona. Any advice?
It's whatever suits you and like, for people like Pimp C it took them years to discover what sound they wanted, so just keep creating until you strike gold
Are these h town rappers alter egos?
@@miguelsosa5972 it’s not a persona my boy. It’s a lifestyle. You just can’t adapt a “persona”….
U gotta be urself homie
Wait there’s a video for mo city don?
Not an official music video, but him at the club while it was on.

@@TexasTakeover Ohhhhh
No PLUTO?
K-Rino is the greatest Houston rapper. No one other than Scarface comes close.
I think he's just the greatest of all time, not just in Houston
@@TexasTakeover You know it. Always will be GOAT in my eyes.
@@TexasTakeover I only said greatest in Houston because of the video theme. But yeah he's my GOAT 100%
Only rapper alive i wont battle
SPM birthday pass
El rap no está muerto, está en prisión Carlos Coy spm la mera VRGA‼️
You left a lot out no Devin the Dude/ No 5th Ward Boyz/ Kirko Bangz/ No ABN/50/50 twins etc…
I know I did, I was gonna add ABN and a few more originally but I forgot, and was too lazy to add them since I already finished exporting the video, not from Houston, but I did add him for the "Odd Squad" one
No J-Dawg/No KILLA Kalione/ The whole 3 n the morning cd/ Blue over Grey tape/ Return of the Red.. You done ok, but you left a lot meat on the bone for them years…
@@danieljackson5726 *correcting myself: Devin isn't from Houston but he was in Odd Squad
@@danieljackson5726 I was just putting artist from back then to now and added their most popular songs, I know I forgot a few of them
@@TexasTakeover True from New Boston Tx by way of Htown… But Scarface and Bushwick Bill ain’t from the H either but they on there
Did 3-2 reinvent himself as the governor?
No Ridin Dirty 96?
I added Bun B because he was born in Houston and later released a solo album, I added Pimp because he talked about the beefs in Houston, I didn't add UGK because that's a P.A. group
@@TexasTakeover Okay ^^
What are all the cities and states that like chopped and Screwed culture besides Houston?
Memphis rap
tobe nwigwe
Why put SPM In 2000 , he was big way before that first album release in 95 and Afte HustleTown was a success album then Power Move too
He first put him in '97, because his first song that actually blew up was Mary-Go-Round
You missed a lot artists
You should have started in 1986
I started as far back as I can since I didn't know a lot of artist when I first started the series a few years ago, then I was able to go far backs as '89, let me know tho, put me on with the artist from '86 - '89
H town the most slept on one day houston gon be on top
It was on top on the late 90s early 2000s, now they got Travis Scott and Megan, but they're more mainstream then Texas
Without houston, the state of texas would be so lame.
Austin is so worried about being liked by the west coast to the point that they imitate them. 😂
San antonio is old.
And dallas is too busy keeping up with the jonnses, u know that Suburbia life. And they LAME AF 😂
HOUSTON tho it embraces its culture of houston and new Orleans. And houston has been putting it down in rap since the beginning. And houston culture was adopted and used all over the usa even the world!
A LOT of these are chopped and screwed by DJ SCREW🔩🔩🔩🔩🔩 much respect to the owner of S.U.C
