Rhubarb Syrup (Make Your Own Soda!)

  • This recipe is SO easy, and can be used with most any fruit. Make your own sodas, use to flavor kombucha, top yogurt and ice cream. The possibilities are endless. AND it's pretty much shelf stable when refrigerated.
    Rhubarb Syrup
    1 lb rhubarb, sliced thin
    1 lb sugar
    Mix rhubarb and sugar. Pack into a quart jar. Cap and let stand at room temperature for 24 hours - stirring a few times if the sugar isn't completely dissolving.
    Strain through a fine mesh strainer into a clean jar and refrigerate. Use 1 - 2 tbsp per 8 oz of fizzy water to make your own flavored soda.
