"I'm Only Here To Disappoint" by Alkaline Trio from the new album 'My Shame Is True,' out now! www.epitaphstor... Facebook - / alkalinetrio Twitter - / alkaline_trio
I started listening to Alk3 4 days after Blink 182 concert (after waiting 18 years to see them) because of Matt Skiba and know I can't stop listening to them. I don't understand why they are not popular here in South America
lol That's so awesome that people were thinking the exact same thing. And not only that, and I can't believe I missed this, but they also have footage of Ev from The Giant Spider Invasion which was also riffed on by Mystery Science Theater 3000! .... Yeah, I'm kind of a fan, lol.
In my opinion, Dan has some, if not the best, songs on Alk Trio's more recent albums. "Fine", "Broken Wings","I, Pessimist', 'I'm Only Here to Dissapoint', are some of the finest examples of songwriting and wordplays that I've seen in a long time.
Maybe I'll catch fire, their best album by far. Less heartbreak, more dark lyrics with happy riffs. I'm liking the new album it needs to grow on me still.
I agree with Tim. For me, agony was some of their finest work. Especially Danny. I find that even though most of their anvils are Matt focused, pretty much every Dan song is a real gem.
Not only is this song awesome, but they even had footage of The Master from "Manos, The Hands Of Fate". They reminded me of Mystery Science Theater 3000 which added to the awesomeness.
I agree! Dan was a great pick for this band :) I wish he would've had a little more freedom to talk at the concert though, I wanted to hear from him too. Have you listened to Dan Andriano In The Emergency Room?
Yeah, I was just trying to get a wide variety of songs. There were honestly too many I wanted to pick from, most of which were Dan's songs, but I tried thinking of a good mix of both Dan and Matt. I dunno, I think there's a decent range of songs and it's not like they've ever released a bad song anyway.
0:14 The name of the movie is Il boia scarlatto (1965) "The Crimson Executioner" you're welcome! Now you all know it's not a purple mask and he is not The Phantom.
...production. I feel like if they just cranked the guitars up a bit louder in the mix like on FHTF that would give all these songs a little more bite. Regardless, this song is great and I think The Temp of St Anthony seem good too. Looking forward to hearing the entire album. I'm sure it will be good. The only total miss for me was agony but i have even grown to like a few tracks on that one.
I think all their albums are as great as each other in individual styles but either Crimson or Goddamnit are my fave or Good mourning or from here to infirmary or i quite enjoy Remains with the bonus and B-sides oh fuck it they are all amazing :P
if you want to like them don´t start it by listening to the last records.Start from the begining, you can skin this addiction and agony and irony in my opinion.
The first AK3 song ever? Well then I hope you don't mind a few recommendations. Definitely listen to all of their albums, but if you want one song from each album in specific listen to (in no particular order): We Can Never Break Up, Cringe, You're Dead, Do You Wanna Know?, Dead On the Floor, I Remember A Rooftop, Donner Party (All Night), Fuck You Aurora, and Mercy Me. Sorry for the long list. As for full albums, you should try 'Good Mourning' and 'From Here to Infirmary' first.
Well this is one of two songs I think are ok. I, Pessimist is awesome. If I use statistical analysis, then I should love 3 more songs on the album and like 7 more. That's not bad. Let's just hope these 4 songs weren't the best ones.
I don't get the hate for This Addiction. I thought it was MUCH better than Agony and Irony and Crimson, especially the Skiba songs. Lead Poisoning and Dead On The Floor VS Over And Out or Live Young Die Fast? Piss and Vinegar Vs all the snoozers on the second half of Crimson? No contest for me anyways. Calling All Skeletons is a kick ass song though.
I am a long time fan, just go to my page if you need any further proof! I used to cover a bunch of their older songs. Anyway, been a fan since 2001 when my friend gave me from FHTI which i instantly loved, then soon found that i really liked the older stuff as well. They were spot on until crimson in my opinion, but I have learned to appreciate their newer sound although I always kind of wish they could channel a little more of the raw sound of the earlier stuff. I think its mainly studio prod..
"Wait, that doesn't sound like Matt Skiba. Well, nothing to do here then. Off to another Alkaline Trio video where I will write a generic useless comment about how much the Trio sucks in comparison to blink, and how Skiba can never replace Tom DeLonge." Every single ignorant blink-182 fan ever.
Lets all be honest here. Alkalime trio has never done a bad album nor song. Nor will they ever.
I started listening to Alk3 4 days after Blink 182 concert (after waiting 18 years to see them) because of Matt Skiba and know I can't stop listening to them. I don't understand why they are not popular here in South America
I have never heard a song by alkaline trio that didn't get stuck in my head immediately. this band is amazing.
Am I the only one that prefers Dan's voice. It's so unique. Obviously I like Matt's vocals too. Alkaline Trio is one of my favorite bands of all time.
Nope right there with you
I relate to dans songs more. Love both
I also prefer Dan’s voice to Matt’s voice… and I love Matt’s voice too.
Agreed... disappoint
Dan
Danny's songwriting combined with that trademark Trio harmony. I'm obsessed
My favorite from this album.
So lucky to have a band with two great and different singers.
I'm not a hardcore fan so I don't know much, but I do know that I love this singers voice.
Crimson vibe going down with this album, love it
This embodies my life, no matter what I disappoint, even though there's no expectations of me.
i cant stop listening to it pls send help
Been an all trio fan for a good decade. This is the first I've heard this, and it hits home y'all. That's all, really, guess I'll leave it there...
My favourite song on the record. Beyond awesome. A+. Can't stop listening to it...
Gah, they've done their fans proud with this one! Best one off the album by far!
my life summarized in the lyrics "I am truly only here to disappoint" and "I am breaking apart at the soul"
Out of the songs for My Shame Us True that have been released, this one is probably my favorite!
lol That's so awesome that people were thinking the exact same thing.
And not only that, and I can't believe I missed this, but they also have footage of Ev from The Giant Spider Invasion which was also riffed on by Mystery Science Theater 3000!
.... Yeah, I'm kind of a fan, lol.
Rhythm of this song is amazing
Best band ever
My fave from what I've heard of the new album so far.
They failed to disappoint. This album is going to be awesome!
I'm not sure what happened to these guys, but they need to keep it up. They're making GREAT music again. Not just "meh" anymore. :)
In my opinion, Dan has some, if not the best, songs on Alk Trio's more recent albums. "Fine", "Broken Wings","I, Pessimist', 'I'm Only Here to Dissapoint', are some of the finest examples of songwriting and wordplays that I've seen in a long time.
I can't believe anyone would hate crimson it was their most unique in my opinion. Sadie is my favorite song they ever wrote.
Absolutely love it 😀
Maybe I'll catch fire, their best album by far. Less heartbreak, more dark lyrics with happy riffs. I'm liking the new album it needs to grow on me still.
This might be my favorite lyric video ever.
I think this is Aklaline Trios best song.
THANK YOU. I'm glad I wasn't the only one who noticed that.
I love the music video! Totally different from their old stuff but I like it. Can't wait for the new album!
Another Alk3 song to add to my all time favourite songs ever list
Somehow they managed to get back to "basics" let's say. Really good material from the guys this time around!
I agree with Tim. For me, agony was some of their finest work. Especially Danny. I find that even though most of their anvils are Matt focused, pretty much every Dan song is a real gem.
manos the hands of fate
Not only is this song awesome, but they even had footage of The Master from "Manos, The Hands Of Fate". They reminded me of Mystery Science Theater 3000 which added to the awesomeness.
Do you know any of the other movies im trying to find them
I agree! Dan was a great pick for this band :)
I wish he would've had a little more freedom to talk at the concert though, I wanted to hear from him too.
Have you listened to Dan Andriano In The Emergency Room?
YES! Love it!
I Always Love ALK3
I wonder if its possible to get the names of thise movies. They seem pretty awesome, in a B movie kinda way
and again and again and again!!!!!!!!!!!!!
it's good to not feel alone in this feeling
Can anyone tell me the names of these horror movies in this video? Id really like to track them down...anyone? By the way i love this video...
i really like this song
I wasn't a fan of this addiction just thought it was a bit rushed. but still love all they've done
you can listen the parts right in this song, example when both sing "so many empty years"
Yeah, I was just trying to get a wide variety of songs. There were honestly too many I wanted to pick from, most of which were Dan's songs, but I tried thinking of a good mix of both Dan and Matt. I dunno, I think there's a decent range of songs and it's not like they've ever released a bad song anyway.
SO AWESOME!!!!thanx for uploading mate
I honestly think it is because some people cant handle something different. I personally think it was a great album.
100% agree. In Vein.... need I say more
0:14 The name of the movie is Il boia scarlatto (1965) "The Crimson Executioner"
you're welcome! Now you all know it's not a purple mask and he is not The Phantom.
Bloody Pit of Horror
...production. I feel like if they just cranked the guitars up a bit louder in the mix like on FHTF that would give all these songs a little more bite. Regardless, this song is great and I think The Temp of St Anthony seem good too. Looking forward to hearing the entire album. is a hit awesome!
Kickass song! That riff at the end was sick wish it was more pronounced throughout the song!
if you want to like them don´t start it by listening to the last records.Start from the begining, you can skin this addiction and agony and irony in my opinion.
i miss the long ass breaks of jamming out to just instrumentals, like alk3 used to have. granted this is still better than agony and irony.
Oh yeah, I think I have most of each of their side projects. One of my favorite Skiba's little known classic, "Good Fucking Bye"
published 6 days ago.. nearly 20,000 views...
This song is better without the video tbh, can't wait for the new album!

Favorite from the a l b u m
When they again show some new music video ? I'm waaaaiting!!!
🤘💜
Manos: The Hands of Fate!
Yeah but crimson has the final version of sadie. Now that I have heard this whole new album I'm not disappointed!
which is the one with the guy wearing the phantom costume?
What movie is this from?
I laugh & you will cry again & again & again!!
I fucking love this.
Well this is one of two songs I think are ok. I, Pessimist is awesome. If I use statistical analysis, then I should love 3 more songs on the album and like 7 more. That's not bad. Let's just hope these 4 songs weren't the best ones.
🖤🤘🚬
wtf? where do they find these movie clips for these videos, lol
13 people brought to their knees.
it kinda sounds like the latest Bad Religion albums
I think Crimson is their best album.
fucking genius!!!....Brilliant!
gotta love MST3K
I don't get that at all. This to me is far and away the best one they've released so far.
I mean, you like Warhol better than this?
fantasma cara!!
what's the movie at 0:12
I don't get the hate for This Addiction. I thought it was MUCH better than Agony and Irony and Crimson, especially the Skiba songs.
Lead Poisoning and Dead On The Floor VS Over And Out or Live Young Die Fast?

Calling All Skeletons is a kick ass song though.
👍👍👍👍
What movie is the source for the video?
Intersting song, but I think what in this song will sing Matt
I am a long time fan, just go to my page if you need any further proof! I used to cover a bunch of their older songs. Matt's choruses are catchier. But Dan's verses have been so much better these last few albums. Better melody and lyrics.
😂❤
Does anyone know the name of the girl at 0:07? I would really like to know. Please. :c
kills me .
A3 till da grave

oh..
Maybe that's because it's Dan singing, not matt
+Stacynow Gee, thanks for telling me.
😂😂😂
this is so shitty
2017 :D
taut*
I'll
I like this song too but its not what it use to be..
Lord Robert von Murneau .
Dan can do no wrong
Even though Sadie was around much longer than Crimson...
I like Crimson, my least fave is Agonyand Irony.
I more like when in their songs Matt has lead vocal
