"I, Pessimist" by Alkaline Trio featuring Tim McIlrath, from the new album 'My Shame Is True,' out now! Order at www.epitaphstor... Facebook - / alkalinetrio Twitter - / alkaline_trio
This is the very first Alkaline Trio song I remember ever hearing. I've been hooked ever since. Also: this song is way too good to only be 2 minutes long.
It makes a good collaboration between two great bands from a great town. Nothing less nothing more. Its a damn good collaboration too. Dan and Tims voices compliment each other perfectly. Its exactly what you think they'd sound like if they put out a song...
Remains is a compilation of B sides from all their albums, so I think it gives the best overview of the band... It also has some of their best songs on it, songs that weren't made to 'fit an album.' That's where I started! :)
If this new material starts to grow on you, you should take a look back at their older stuff. If you don't like it, heck, it never hurts to understand where a band came from. But it's been my personal experience that discovering a band late in their career usually unveils a gold mine of great music.
The Revival Tour doesn't do any studio recordings that I know of. You'd have to catch them playing live if they come near you. They have done a US tour and have had a European leg as well. If you can't see them live. Check their website, or Itunes, they put out an album featuring all the artists. I only know of one of these albums though. Came out very recently from the 2012 tour. Chuck Ragan also has a vinyl and digital download for the European tour a few years back with Sam Russo and others.
When I saw this was out, I got excited since I love both bands....then I saw all the arguments over if they're still any good or not...I love all their stuff, listen to the changes in sound and style, but it's still very enjoyable. Especially this song.
Matt Skiba and Tim McIlrath are the closest things to gods that an atheist like me can worship. And I've met Tim too. In this day and age, it's rare that anyone will take half an hour just to sit down and have a chat with a random fan, but Tim would, and has. Why so much hate, people?
I've recorded in the same room they are in. Too freakin' cool! I record at the Blasting Room quite often, actually. And used part of Rise Against's kit once.
alkaline trio + rise against = mind blown
Tim mcilrath and alkaline trio - BEST SONG EVER
tim is a legend
If they made an entire album with Tim doing vocals, I'd be fine with that.
Kill me that second

The best of Chicago in one song, amazing
Both Dan and Matt have their own style, I don't think one is better than the other. I love their mixture
It makes me glad that there are some sensible Alkaline Trio fans.
Alkaline Trio, (Both Dan and Matt) hasn't once made a song that I didn't love! Can't wait for this album to come out!
Words cannot describe the intensity of the hardon this track gives me.
This is the very first Alkaline Trio song I remember ever hearing. I've been hooked ever since.

I like that Tim had more than just background vocals on this song than what Matt had on Rise Against's song.

I've recorded in the same room they are in. Too freakin' cool! I record at the Blasting Room quite often, actually. And used part of Rise Against's kit once.
