There's nothing quite as valuable as the voice of experience...if you listen very carefully. I like the look and the simplicity of the technique. Great work!🎉
I am so impressed with your level of skill. Not only in pottery, but also in your adult education skills. I have been doing pottery since April 1, 2020 and am no where near your level. Thank you for guiding this senior and letting her 10:55 learn from you. By the way, I am Dutch as well, but was not educated in Dutch but in English. I wish my spoken Dutch was as good as your English. Next time I go to Amsterdam, I will look you up.
Thanks for this video. This helped me get from ok bubble glaze to "I'm so happy with it" bubble glaze. Your instructions were extremely clear and easy to follow.
Thank you - going to play with this today so will tag you on insta, I did struggle with a tall vase last week so will try again after watching this. Cheers from Australia :-)
Ah, so cool! I want to study ceramics at tafe when I'm older (for now I have to rely on the limited supplies at school, but better than nothing 😅), so this is super interesting and useful! Keep up the awesome work bro! ✨
Thank you! I have tried that, but the clay doesn't absorb the underglaze mix fast enough, and the bubbles just slid off. But you can always try, maybe it works with the clay you are using😊
Thx so much for this very detailed video! First time I watched the video and then tried it the very same day. Unfortunately mine came out runny after applying the clear glaze. I'm going to order the clear you used and try again.
I have used four different glazes: Amaco: has sometimes small hard pieces in it Mayco: can become much lighter Botz: works good for me Duncan: is made for low fire, can change color if used on a higher temperature This is only based on my own experience, so it could be different for you😅
I have a kiln in a separate room. I'll show my studio in the future, at the moment I'm in the middle of my exams from highschool, so it can take some time😅
Hi, such a helpful video, im going to use this technique on my next pottery piece, i have watched so, so many pottery videos and this one is the best one I've seen, glad I've found you, i will look forward to learning from you 🙂
Thank you very muchhhh 🤗 May I ask a question: Do I need to wait between painting/bubbling and clear glaze? Can I apply the glaze just after bubbling process? Again thank you very much, this video incredibly helpful..
Thanks for that vlog. The way you layer the bubbles to stop them running is so simple but genius, turning over to give the blue Rom is beautiful. Will be doing this in adult ed class soon. 😁
Hi Calder, was wondering if you know wether the glazes need to be underglazes or if it works just the same with mid-high fire stoneware glazes using the same process (leaving out the clear glazing at the end)? thank you for your help :)
Hi, I have never tried it myself, but I've seen others do it and it worked out! But then the piece isn't fully covered in glaze, and because of that not food safe. I will do some testing myself and might make it into a video, but it'll take some time😅
Hey! You seem to use clear glaze that needs to be painted on the object with a brush… Can I just add on my clear glaze by dipping my object in the glaze?
Yes I would start out with the darker color. You could also use two colors at the same time, that way they might blend nice. I can make a video about it in the future, but I'm busy with school at the moment😅

Nicely explained. Thank you.
Great video. Thanks so much. Your personality makes this look fun. Bubbly!
I'm watching this to decide how to decorate the set I'm making for my final project, and this looks like a fun one I might have to try it!
That's so cool! Let me know if you have any questions!
I really like how silly and fun this technique is. Mahalo!

Great video! Thank you so much! Very thorough. Can you tell me what would happen if it I applied it on greenware?
Thank you! I have tried that, but the clay doesn't absorb the underglaze mix fast enough, and the bubbles just slid off. But you can always try, maybe it works with the clay you are using😊

Thanks, great detail.. I’m going to try this 😊
bibbles is sooo cool.
hi thank you for your great videos. can you pleas write here to full info about the glazes you use? thank you so much.
I have used four different glazes:
Amaco: has sometimes small hard pieces in it
Mayco: can become much lighter
Botz: works good for me
Duncan: is made for low fire, can change color if used on a higher temperature
This is only based on my own experience, so it could be different for you😅
Thanks for showing some fun stuff. Curious to know why you hand painted the clear glaze instead of dipping? Is this just preference or?
You could dip it. The only reason I painted it is because I don't have enough glaze to dip😅
nice tank you....from Bologna Italy
Great video. Is it possible to use underglazes for the bubbles ?
Yes, that's what I do😁
Hi! Calder, where do you fire your pottery goods? Can you show you studio, please???
I have a kiln in a separate room. I'll show my studio in the future, at the moment I'm in the middle of my exams from highschool, so it can take some time😅
Hermoso trabajo de Arte!

Gracias, gracias, re bien explicado👍👏👏😘
Thank you very muchhhh 🤗 May I ask a question: Do I need to wait between painting/bubbling and clear glaze? Can I apply the glaze just after bubbling process? Again thank you very much, this video incredibly helpful..
I would wait a few minutes, so the underglaze can dry. But that doesn't take very long😊

Hi,clear glaze working like cristallyne? I mean,it's usuful for to get impermeability?
Yes, the clear glaze makes it safe to use it☺
I am ceramic art basin manufacturer
Our kilen temperature is + 1200°c
Which colour is best results.
And have you any ceramic metalic colour ?
Cann I do bubbleglaze on greenwere /leatherdry clay ?
Hi👋🏽🙃do you have your own kiln? I didn’t see any videos on it, maybe I missed it? Thanks!
Hi! Yes I have a kiln together with my mom. I showed it in my studio tour :)
Love it!
Thank you!
Is dat n onderglazuur van botz of gewoon laagbak
Onderglazuur :)
Hi, could you please recommend a glaze for air dry clay? I want to try this method but i am not an expert and dont have a kiln
Hi, I'm sorry, but I don't know much about air dry clay. I have seen people using acrylic paint. Maybe that works on air dry clay?🤔
Hey, can we obtain the same result if we try this over a canvas?....what are your glaze pigments made of tho?
Susan from instagram.com/susandeconcini? tried it a while ago with liquid watercolor😊
@@caldervanandel aahh okay...thank you🤍

@@caldervanandel have you done this? Also wondering about using a glaze to do the bubbles, but then use a clear glaze over top the whole pot.
Hey! You seem to use clear glaze that needs to be painted on the object with a brush…
Can I just add on my clear glaze by dipping my object in the glaze?
Yes you can just dip it :)
@@caldervanandel thanks! I have to try it
Could you use colored slips for bubble glazing instead of underglaze?
I think it'll be quite difficult to mix the slip with the water, but you could always try! Only using the color pigments could be an option as well😊
Do you also bubble glaze on greenware?
I have tried it once, but it doesn't work. The bubbles do not dry fast enough and slide off.
can you use two applications of different color bubbles?
Yes you can!
@@caldervanandel Would you recommend the darker color first then the lighter color? Any other hints would be appreciated!!!!
Yes I would start out with the darker color. You could also use two colors at the same time, that way they might blend nice. I can make a video about it in the future, but I'm busy with school at the moment😅
@@caldervanandel School comes first. Your videos are my "school" since I'm new to pottery!! Thank you!!
Does the liquid soap has to be transparent?
No not necessary, you can always just mix the soap and water and see if you can create bubbles that look nice😊
HOLA SOY CERAMISTA PUEDE PASAR SIBTULADA ESPAÑOL
Good😍👏
厲害!
Can I do this on porcelain?
I think you can, if the bisque fire isn't too high😊
@@caldervanandel thanks!
This looks a good video but the audio wasn't the best, you might want to get a lapel microphone?
I'm sorry for the bad audio quality, I didn't have a mic at the time, but I do now😊
