How did you connect your phone to the spdsx? Through an aux cable into "audio in" with a mini jack to normal jack converter. Because the spdsx doesn't have an aux input.
How did you connect the cellphone to the spdsx? Also, does the gain knob at the back have to be turned to "line" or "mic" when recording the sample? And in the sampling menu does it have to be set to audio or midi?
I feel like I'm doing everything right. But My Spd-sx does not register any sound coming in from my phone or laptop. My laptop volume is open and I adjusted the mic/line control because it does come through to my phones via Spd. What can be the problem?
Does anyone know, if I sample a live drum set then played the samples drum beat for a live acoustic show. Will this spd pad by Roland play a five minute song if played live?

You need to go through the Audio In input in the back. 1/4” cable.
Where is is connected to? And what type of cable is it?

do i have to use songs that are in the apps mediathek or can i use any song even sounds from youtube???
you can pretty much sample anything and load it in edit it and then play it with dynamics.
