My 2 cents (and a disclaimer): I’ve had the opportunity to create a part of the factory presets of the ELZ_1 play. It's been a fun project, though I must admit my judgment might therefore be somewhat biased. While I usually strive for objectivity, the reality is that no one can be entirely impartial. The ELZ_1 play is enjoyable to use, offering flexibility through the use of various machines instead of relying on just one or two synthesis models that delve extremely deep. Consequently, the ELZ_1 play is also well-suited for beginners. I did wish for some additional modulation sources here and there, but that's just the sound explorer in me talking. I found the new shimmer reverb and sound engines to be quite useful, but my absolute favorite is the internal looper. It's super easy to use and excellent for (ambient) improvisations. In terms of build quality, it's good. Although the added velocity is super useful, I needed some time to adapt to its internal keyboard, as the keys would sometimes get stuck in the chassis. However, this issue improved as I spent more time with the ELZ_1 play.
Thank you for your thoughts. I would enjoy a demo on how you use a looper to make ambient, in my mind, a looper is repetitive, so I'm curious about how that works.
Lovely 😊 Q: how apt is the looper for blending layers (imported or playing in real time). And is there some kind of adjustment or "glue" available? Their Ambient Ø Blendwave modulation seems perfect for such, but sadly just 8-sec sampling time.
This sounds so good and is a huge improvment from the original. Definitely a Flagship synth for Sonicware, although pricier than their other gear for sure
Good work sir 😁 Glad you enjoyed making presets on this. It's got a hell of a lot of potential. I've been talking directly to Dr Yu Endo about more routing for velocity, extra modulation etc and it seems likely to be added with updates 🤞
Sounds great! Some of these sound right out of Jean Michel Jarre's palette. Would be great if you showed more detail on how the multi-track looper works. I ordered in August and I'm hoping you'll ship some in time for Christmas.
Thanks! The looper is super hands on: Just push the button, start recording and push it again to have it stop quantized to the bar. Also, you can easily overdub and delete your recordings. If the elz_1 play arrives in time for christmas is in Sonicware's hands. But I'll keep my fingers crossed for you.
It's a small manufacturer and you have to also add development costs, amount of units being produced etc. The elz_1 play sounds great but the keys are plastic. I guess you get used to it but don't expect them to be on par with a dedicated external keyboard.

Thanks! Have you checked the last 5 minutes of the video? I've done exactly that :)@@vertigev
@@limbicbits Ah my bad, I only watched the beginning before sleep and thought I should finish it with headphones. That was an amazing demo!
More looper demos would be great! Especially something conventional with drums, bass, etc.
Lovely 😊

just hearing it. I had written their stuff off as fun things to pass time with, but this sounds serious. So lush and deep.

worth the wait, cant wait to mess around with mine when it arrives
Cool! I‘d really like to see that coming.
Awesome Chris, thank you!
Love this, I keep watch these videos and check for new ones each day to hold me over till mine comes.
Definitely worth the wait!
Wow this gear looks promising. Nice sounds
I'm glad i ordered one. I hope in the future, there will be a proper 4 octave full size keys synth with this synth engine (maybe even expanded)
That’s what an external midi keyboard is for! That way you get the portability and then the studio playability.
Great sounds! Excited to receive mine for sure!
great looking and sounding device
The key here is- of course-- the fishy. She is quietly intense- studying- k n o w i n g all. Keep your eyes on fishy. She knows.

ça va cartonner c'est obliger. Je suis trop impatient pour le mien.
Preliminary price seems a bit steep IMHO, and I'm afraid it might have the clickety-plasticy keys, but the sounds it makes are very pleasing.

0:50 Aphex
Just bought one for $350 off of Reverb, getting it maybe this Wednesday. I'm pretty stoke!
fantastic synth! Congratulations
Is this a japan import only or is it available in europe like orher sonicware products ?
I guess these will be available in EU, too, but it's currently still only for preorder.
Magnifique !!!
Sound nice 👍
No drum sounds?
There is a drum synth engine that was added!
Sounds like a Roland d50.
