Good video. Facts listed well. Went how I would expect. 4.10s got the old gt better off the line. Im clear of the other mods. 5.0 better top end. Hopefully you bought the old gt before all the used car price hikes. And did the work yourself. Can be a great bargain with that combo. New 5.0 probably 50k these days.
It’s lighter, and this guy has a much better gear ratio than a stock 3v to go along with all the bolt ons/cams he installed. He also had a much better tire
Half second and 3 mph. Decent difference but I wouldn't call that "way slower". I'm assuming a good driver in the stick car with my quotes. Many people can't drive for shit so there is a much bigger gap in alot of cases. People don't realize with a manual the driver really makes a huge difference so you can't just put all manual cars in the same basket like they run x times or whatever.
Crucial things not mentioned, driver experience and tire. It’s clear the 5.0 was at a disadvantage with both. Good tire and experienced driver and the 3v would have seen nothing but tail every race.
Even from a roll we were still fairly even. That in itself should prove enough. Also I know he can drive that car great, we both autocross and have done road racing events together and he rocks. Since there’s so much doubt tho and he did just get fresh tires ig I’ll have to prove everyone wrong again.
@@midwestsbest2 I know that. He was on some 200 tread wear tires in the video, however they were almost done for. After all the races and burnouts he needed a new set lol. 3rd gen coyote factory 465hp crank correct? You Dyno 331whp. I understand drivetrain loss regarding coyote and shorter gearing in your case but, just seems you are putting down a bit more IDK
I definitely see what you mean. There’s a large discrepancy between dynos. For example, I put down 358whp on one dyno, then 337whp on a different dyno but in the same shop and in similar fall conditions with the exact same setup on the car. The new dyno was always 6% lower on all cars than the previous dyno they had. I recently made 341whp on that same dyno (after an aluminum driveshaft, different manifold, and tune revision, and yeah it doesn’t sound like a lot lol), which would’ve been just about 361whp on the previous dyno. Every dyno reads different, even if they’re the same dyno. And then stuff like air density, temperature, humidity, altitude, and a bunch of other things can also affect how much a car makes. To put it in perspective, just about every Gen 3 the shop has had would make about 400whp stock on the same dyno where I made 341whp.
That 3v is putting up a very good fight against much higher hp cars, most credit to the driver bc he killed those shifts, you don't need a coyote to win🤙
Because people like how they look. And I think they sound better than the 5.0. The Coyote is obv the better motor, it’s an amazing platform. But a 4.6 that can stick it to a 460hp car is an achievement. It shows it can be done.
Doing a burn out on all seasons or street tires is pointless. They become less grippy with heat. Should just bark them next time and run it. Good runs tho from both of you. Not being negative just in putting my 2 cents from experience

Get some ford racing or 5.0 2011-2017 injectors and run e85 in it. I believe your stock fuel pump could work maybe without the nitrous. Also look into some 127500 comp cams. You could probably pick up another 20-30whp
on the 20mph role the 5.0 swerved onto the soft shoulder.. still didn''t spin the tires.. what was that like 75% throttle.. not even in a straight line? he let you win.
I guarantee he didn’t let me win lol. Me and my buddy had been debating this for months until we actually went out. He also stayed straight, I don’t see how you swerved into the shoulder. He was just nice enough to give the camera girl some room haha. Also you’re not going to hear him spin over the sound of my car either.
I owned a 2005 full bolt on 3v minus the cams, but it would get ass raped by my 2021 gen 3 bone stock. Best i ran on the 3v was 12.60 at 110. My gen3 ran 11.9 @ 120 bone stock but its a 10speed. Love the 3v valve though, miss it,. my 2005 gt was still my fav to date. Nice ride man! You def rocking mid 12s in that bad boy if you hook. You track it yet?
I’ve been drag racing/ autocrossing/ road racing since it was stock. Best so far has been a 12.2. I plan on going out on the 27th to set some PR’s with and without nitrous. Thanks for watching!
As an owner of a fbo cammed and 4.10 3v, and a 21 mach 1, it's not touching the 3rd gen coyote, and that zl1 should have pulled by a bus by your third gear. Who are these drivers?
I’ve raced a few fbo cammed 3v’s, supercharged 3v’s, and have yet to lose. I know a huge part is that I can drive but I also have done some weight reduction, from the interior to the drivetrain. I was even beating the whipple 3v buy a couple hundredth of a second with just a 75 shot at the strip despite him being on stickier ET drag slicks and being auto.
Here she is against a bolt on/tune 10 speed on Mickey thompson et Street R’s, back when I had 3.31 gears, stock driveline, and weighed more. ruclips.net/video/5hQ2jsGjMpQ/видео.html
I'm confused with your description, when you state the 3v mustang has 341 hp and only 300 ft lbs to the rear wheels on the Dyno. Because that car stock came with 300 hp and 320 lb ft of torque. If you measure it on the Dyno, then those numbers are to the rear wheels and they are lower than stock. So my guess would be that with the car totally stock on the Dyno it would be something like 275 hp and 298 ft lbs to the rear wheels. Obviously yours is modified, hence the 340 hp to the rear wheels (meaning it's probably around 370 hp to the crank) but why in the world would the torque number go down to so much lower than the hp number and be 20 less lb ft of torque than stock? Regardless, great video!
So every dyno reads a bit different, some read very different while others are closer to eachother. I made 361whp on a different dyno with the exact same setup to the car. That dyno always reads 6% higher than the one where I made 341whp. The reason the car makes more hp then torque is also because of the cams I have, it moves my power band towards the top end instead of the the bottom end, resulting in a low end torque loss but a lot more hp up top. If the car was completely bone stock, it would probably make around 240-250whp on the dyno where I made 341whp, and probably around 260~ish whp on the dyno where I made 361whp. To put it in perspective, on the dyno we had in the shop I used to work at, I made 337whp in the summer and just about every stock gen 1 Coyote would make just about 330-340whp which is within the factor of error, and the stock 3v’s would make around the 240whp area. On the old dyno I made 300whp with just the cams, JLT 3, pulleys, and a tune, and then after going fbo I made 358whp. So the car is easily close to around 100whp above stock.
Oh and as for torque numbers, our stock 3v’s would make about 260ish whp on our Dynojet where I was making 337whp and 307wtq (that was with the stock manifold, once I went with the Ford Racing manifold I made more top end but then lost some low end). That was in the middle of summer too. On a dyno dynamics dyno I made 358whp and 324wtq in the winter, and on a mainline I also made 337whp and 305wtq in the winter too. These numbers are all with the exact same mods, but with 3.31 gears, stock driveshaft, and stock manifold. Now (on that same mainline dyno) I made 341whp and 300wtq in the spring, this would’ve been around 361whp and around 319wtq on the Dyno Dynamics due to that 6% difference.
Here’s me racing a tuned/bolt on 10 speed on a Mickey thompson ET Street R’s back when my car weighed more, had stock gears, and had a stock driveline. ruclips.net/video/5hQ2jsGjMpQ/видео.html

Amazing that the 3v pulls harder out of the hole. I have a 3v that I daily drive. A 5.0 wanted to race me on the highway. Nope, but if he wanted to race my 427R built to 800+ hp he would have been embarrassed 😳. Every one knows that a 4.6 in stock form is no match for a 5.0 . If ididnt build a 4.6 3v earlier than the coyote. I've would have been right there. The coyote engine is the best platform of all the big 3 to build for power.

@@christianreyes368 I guess you putting the numbers in front of me like this, seems about right now 👍 Dyno reading could be corrected vs uncorrected?

@@garrettmcmillion3672 yes but I’m talking about the engine for example mod for mod the coyote would be killer 🤷🏽♂️

Hey. Whats ur pov driving camera setup?
It’s a GoPro Hero 7 Black🙏🏼
Race a 10 speed next I wanna see how it goes
Here’s me racing a tuned/bolt on 10 speed on a Mickey thompson ET Street R’s back when my car weighed more, had stock gears, and had a stock driveline.
