That is the nicest 940 I've ever seen! Love that steel with Benchmade's heat treat. The only thing that I don't love are the thumb studs however the lighting could be throwing the color off a bit.
When I was in the store a few weeks ago I bought a regular 940. The green aluminum version. Now I have buyers remorse...well not really I love that one but I will have to get this one too! Goals!
Just got mine and the truth is I didn't expect to like it as much as I do. 940-1 was my favorite, not anymore. Marshall & Going Gear, you knocked it outta the park with it, Congratulations & Thank you.
Looks sweet but I already have three 940's. I visited your awesome store in April while on vacation (I live in Maine but have family in Kennesaw). Coolest store I've ever been in. I'm glad it's nowhere near me because I would spend all my money there. Ordering online is great but there's something about seeing all that cool stuff in front of you.
I've not been real big on the 940 line so far, but, this is the one that interests me enough to consider forking out the cash. Unfortunately, I just dropped $400 on two other BM knives last week, so this will have to be put on hold for another month or so. ATM, I'm about as poor as poor can be. Dammit Benchmade, why do you have to make so many awesome knives??? You're driving me to the poorhouse like this!!!
I just broke my inlays. Heads up guys. Saw this video and had to get this knife. It arrived today, and I was absolutely in love with it. Only problem was that I could see dark spots under the red inlays, not too bad on one side, but the pocket clip side was almost all blacked out. I saw another video here on RUclips and found out that liquid can get under the inlays. I took them off and sure enough, they had beads of what I can only guess was some sort of lubricant. There are holes under the inlays that lead to the axis lock, and lubricant can get in and under the inlays, ruining the astetic. I was able to clean out one side perfectly fine , but the suction created by the large amount of fluid on the pocket clip side provided enough resistance to crack the inlay next to the screw hole.
I'll keep you posted, benchmade hasn't gotten back to me yet. I know that they're really good about this kind of thing, so I'm not too worried. I appreciate the reply.
The ctek looks great as an inlay but those 2 screws totally make my OCD go nuts bot being symmetrical within the inlay. It actually bothers me a lot visually, but I do dig the unique handle look without the typical 940 contouring
I always open my Axis lock knives with one thumb... That's also how I close the knife. You don't have to use 2 fingers. I bought one of these from Marshall at the NRA show. Nice knife.
Very true. Was great to meet you guys in Atlanta. I loosened up the pivot on mine and it flicks open and closed extremely smooth and easily now. I scratched up my pocket clip already too, so it's in the carry rotation :)
I like the look... a lot (though I'm more of a blue guy than a red guy). But I wonder about the ergonomics. Nearly all of the contours appear smoothed-out, which makes it look classier, but also less grippy (I believe that the contours on the 940-2 -- Benchmade's most 'evolved' handle -- are there for ergonomics). Anyone care to comment? Thanks!
looks sweet but I'm not feeling the handle shape unfortunately :( if it was CF with the inlay and/or shaped more like the -1 or the -2 I would buy immediately. I'll keep my eye out for different models, congratulations on the exclusive!... although I am liking it the more I look at it hahaha

the lighting is throwing them off. the thumb studs are the same color as the inlays
I scored the last one, yes. RIP Marshal, nice work bro!
Congratulations on this exclusive Marshall! The knife looks beautiful.

Gorgeous! Love the plain smooth contouring, stylistically that was one of the issues I had with the originals.
slidetek that's the one thing I don't like about it and prefer about the other models lol

Excellent job Marshall!
This should be STANDARD in the Benchmade Line!!!
Always been my grail 940. Dig em.
Great job!

Marshall You deserve continued success.
Red and black color combo...my weakness. Just ordered and will be my first 940. This is exciting!

love the design! Would like to see a deep carry pocket clip on it from factory.
Bummer. Thanks for the reply man!

Going Gear benchmade is going to replace it free of charge. Benchmade's customer service alone is enough to always buy benchmade
That is one special exclusive of the 940.
Patiently awaiting my delivery 😳
Very nice! Love my 940 in green with purplish spacers
Al
Blue! Yes!
Any chance of a rerun of these?!!!!!
Looks like a gold class! Very Cool!
Gotta get me one of those
You got some great Guys and gals working your store. I think one guy I had to beg to sell me more. Super nice and passive store folk
Beautiful

nice job. and even better steel. give is a red weave CF like the Spyderco Domino. 2.94 oz , very nice!
That knife looks sweet ale!
this looks nice. I own the g10 version and rarely carry it. I love the knife but I just rarely carry it.
Still available?

I wish my 940-2 had a stonewash finished blade like this model, I wonder if I could buy a new blade for mine with the same finish
Very cool but, where are the flashlight videos?

RIP
Marshall, the hardware looks orange. Is it really red?
I love the black/red theme, but the slightly different reds kill it for me. Any chance of plain black inlays?
Aw, too bad. You'll have another order if and when you do, or when my sculpting abilities are up to it.
(Or when you do blue, so I can do a couple of RWB patterns.)
This knife stickin around? Will it still be around during Christmas?😉
Going Gear sweet! Thanks. Great looking knife!
Copper handle 940 would be sick
How have you not reviewed the Thrunite TC12 V2???
Pretty snazzy
is this an unlimited run?
thats niice!
Please upgrade the pocket clip on any future models. I hate the arrow clip that comes on the 940. Deep carry clip 👍
The color looks good
I have a deep carry on my 940...
Doesn't cause any problems.
Harley after market clip fixes your problem.
