I’m 60 years and I’m such a clean freak in many ways. I hate touching doorknobs because I don’t know what other people had on their hands who touched them before I did. The same goes for elevator buttons and escalator handles. When I get home and before putting my iPad, Kindle, and cellphone on my bed I’ll wipe them down with alcohol that I’ll put on a paper towel first. I’m not a germ freak though. I love my body and clothes being clean as well.
Actually, this is the *second* edition of the film (with new scenes), released in 1968.
I was going to say, this does not look like 1949.
to be fair it has the right year in the beginning of the video so... i don't get the big deal
There were *two* versions of the film. Whenever Coronet decided one of their films was becoming "outdated" after 15 to 20 years, they produced a new version.
It's the lesson that's important here. I for one, greatly appreciate these videos. Even though, I was born decades later.😊

This video was great and wow this old video can be used today to educate people on germs.
It's so simple to keep yourself clean. All you need to remember is hair , skin, teeth ,nails, and clothing.
One thing they don't mention here is that excessive cleanliness leaves a clear path for harmful bacteria. Bacteria are essential for our survival and the good ones compete with the bad ones. If we are excessive in our attempts to achieve "personal hygiene", it destroys the natural balance of competition that we have evolved to deal with.
A good example of this is the increased rate of infection with clostridium difficile following antibiotic treatment. One of the most effective treatments for clostridium difficile is stool transplant, ie. replacing normal populations of bacteria that were killed by the antibiotics...
Different situations and circumstances require different levels of cleanliness.
This is 1968. Even the hair and appliances, clothing tell us that.

I suppose this would be harassment to some nowadays, given the huge number of people wearing dirty clothes because it's fashionable.
This doesn’t even look close to 1949, and I’ve noticed some of the comments pointing out the accurate year this film took place in: 1968. This is nearly a 20 year difference in the amount of knowledge we’ve gained as a species.
