Good video. The excellent Jaguar Service Manual says to place a 16"x1"x1" piece of hardwood in the channel below the picture frame and jack it there. Then place jack stands under the brackets supporting the front ends of the front lower wishbone fulcrum shafts. It also says, to lift only one front wheel, jack on one of those brackets but doesn’t say where to put a jack stand then. I've heard that some folks zip tie the wood to the picture frame in case they have a flat. Painting the wood some bright color might help shops find it. Jacking on the differential works well in the rear but, like you say, you need a low profile jack and a carefully sized piece of wood.

Everything takes a long time on these damm things, and not just sorting out the previous owners bodge's. Just taken me about a month to install LED lights in the front... that's including making a new wiring harness for the bonnet (Hood) replacing all the rotten fasteners for stainless and much to my horror the front bumpers (Fenders) and the list goes on.... oh joy of joy. I think my next car will be a pre war morris.

Well you just need to stick to little old mg's, and let the jag pro's handle the E-TYPES.

I’ll be the first to admit I’m not a Jag “expert”, instead I’m a British car mechanic/restoration guy who MOSTLY works on MG’s (I’ve been driving my BGT for almost 24 yrs, and the MG is the most common of the old British cars). I’ve worked on Jaguar, Triumph, Austin Healey, Sunbeam, Metropolitan, lotus, Jensen Healey, and most MG models from the SA to Rubber bumper B’s.
The owner of this Jag tells me his cars have never ran so good since I started working on his cars, and doesn’t want anybody working on them but me… so I’m working on his E-type.
