A local plant shoppe gave me a dormant little bulb earlier this summer. I put it outside in semi shade and watered sparingly, finally today I’m seeing green!
Hey Karen, in which area are you going to grow them? What is the weather like? If there is no risk of frost, you can already plant it. You can also plant it in a big pot first and then transplant it into the soil
@@AnnasViolets I am in Indiana, cold still but these are going to live in my kitchen window. I don't do any outside plants etc at all. House kept at 68 ° to expensive to keep it warmer .
@@karenoderkirk1831 Hey Karen, I think 68 is not very warm, but it's still enough to start growing it indoors. I think it should be fine, if you also have long bright days
My plant has died back because of the dormency, now should I keep watering it or just leave it dry during the whole dormência period and then after the dormency when should I start watering again
Ehi there! I have a question, since infos about this beautiful plant are quite rare :) I got one this summer, and I kept watering it, as i didn't know it was dormancy period. I caused some root rot, but the bulb is still nice, firm and white. Do i put it back in soil? Do i wait for it to sprout? I removed almost all the roots, leaving only the healthy ones. Thanks a lot for any help and tip you can share! Have a nice day and a happy new year :)
Hey Martina, don't worry, I bought mine in spring and it was still growing and blooming in summer. When we buy them from greenhouses, their lifecycle is a bit shifted. If you have a very bright area, sunny, then plant it. Not having roots is not a problem, it will grow new ones. However, if you do not have a very sunny area, I would recommend waiting a bit, and planting in February/March, when the sunlight is longer. If they do not see enough sun, they will not grow curly leaves, the leaves will grow straight. I know that from my own experience. :)
@@fisconmartina Yes, in a cool, dry and dark place. Not in a plastic bag, but maybe wrapped in paper or in a paper box, so that it doesn't get rotten :)
Hi, Ankit, the leaves start to grow straight, when they get ready to bloom. Cutting the buds will stop this. But also the reason for this can be too much water
I see here alien plants 😂😂😂😂 I mean they don't look like that they belong to the earth. It teaches me I should be watching different things . This planet is diverse 😀.

Thanks - I just bought my first Frizzle Sizzle today (his name is Snoop) and needed to know how to repot.
Snoop is a nice name for a plant. :) ☘️
Fo’ shizzle?
Thanks for information, I've had differculty growing this plant.
Hey Betty, thanks for watching. I'm glad it was useful. How is it growing now?
I just received two bulbs, it's the end of Feb. Any time frame for putting these in soil?

You'll see the tuber will start sprouting, then you can plant it
This is pretty cool! I'd like to see more about these types of plants. Will you do a Masterclass soon?
