I was just watching a video that said this show was criticized at the time for being 'unrealistic' in depicting the life of black Americans. That's wild to me. It seems like such a positive depiction for the time.
Unrealistic because she was professional and black and able to afford the same amenities as middle class citizens. If she was a struggling secretary or lowly position that would have been more 'realistic'.
How’s about that. Groucho Marx lending his support to the show. Always did like him. This was one of the shows I watched as a child as the series was still new. It seems that I have forgotten how great the show was. I was about the age of the character Cory when the show was running.
You want apartment 5 upstairs. How do you know? Oh Logic?! We only have one widowed black tenant woman who lives here so it would adds up to apartment 5 upstairs.
@@zeynepmeltemedagumusnehir2944 did you watch other episodes? He knew the black man was coming to see the black tenant in apartment 5 but instead of for obvious explanation I knew you were coming to see the black lady because you're black, he explained in great detail of how "logically" he could only be coming to see her (Julia apt 5) because she mentioned going on a date and he was dressed up to go on a date. They only allowed the same skin color to date on that show. Hope that helps.
This show was ahead of its time.
Richard Bullis absolutely concur
This show is so timeless
Groucho Marx, gotta love it.
look at that dress so dreamy and stylish and exquisite
Nice show from the past 🙂

Yeah if we don't all look like Good times and dream of being the Jeffersons then it's not realistic we just known for struggling LMMFAO
Timeless Elegance
